Quote:Thank you. I may take the time to do that. It would be nice to have that built into the system so I wouldnt need to do that for so many characters. perhaps for a few more frequently played I will. You can bind a key or macro to change to a specific costume with a specific emote.
For example, if you type the following in the chat window:
From now on, every time you press 'k' you will change into the first of your costumes with the "Flip" costume change emote.
The costume slots are numbered 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. It doesn't matter how you unlocked them, just which order they are in the window.
See here for specific costume change emote names. -
Quote:Besides the lock-up on exit I also get a message from time to time I am trying to log on in an unsupported format (or some-such).This happens to me as well about 20% of the time I log out to the character select screen. But I just wait and after about a minute I crash back to the login screen where I can click login (it remembers my password) and get back into game without exiting completely back to the desktop.
Be nice to have this new feature working 100% soon. -
Can we have the following changes made to costume/costume change emote?
1) Can the choice be saved from session to session?
2) Can we have a selection for each costume slot?
Some of my costumes on the same character seem to speak to differing emotes.
I am just wondering if the emote selection should be set on each costume for change in or change out? Hmm either way it would work. -
Can we get Quantum weapons ported over for players? Either as a costume piece or better yet with an accolade so everyone can wave one around. Kill 1000 quantum' and 500 voids.

This is by no means an unlimited budget build.
It is where I am at, for the moment, with my PB and should give you sufficient ideas on how to slot powers for a tri-build, at least to my play style. Basic though the build is, it functions and is effective on a team as well as solo. I have no trouble with most non-AV content on my own.
I remember running into an Nemesis AV once apon a time. I ended up giving the fight up after about 30 minutes. Neither of us could take the other out. I would Blast him as a Nova till i got hurt then go dwarf at which point he couldn't do much to me. Once Nemesis got low on health he would bubble and I could never quite get him the last bit when he came out because I would need to stay in dwarf at that point.
I am mostly, mainly, a DPS flying blast-o-matic machine.
I have dwarf form for the purpose of surviving agro and occasional light tank duty. Were I more interested in tanking, at the very least, I would have a few more slots in taunt.
My human form is about utility powers and big mean blasts. I find photon seekers to be very helpful solo and teamed. Those they have their issues. If I see a tough fight/boss/eb I make the seekers before engaging. About half the time they will take out carnie bosses for me. Or they do nothing due to phasing. Dawn strike is nifty on teams.
Real number were not yet available when I slotted out Symby, it was when IO's first came out (gee I wish I had stocked up) and my focus has been elsewhere with his build being functional. With the new end game content I am again working on him, the Spiritual Alpha is very good for this build. I am at common with him so far, I can see even the rare, much less the very rare doing wonders for his DPS.
The recent changes to fitness have also done spiffy things for End. I used to get low on very very long fights blasting and medium fights as a dwarf. This has been fixed.
I keep planning to change out the +fly speed in nova for a stealth IO. I'll get to it.
Working in some Analyze weakness chance for +to hit is something I am thinking about too. As it can go into just about any power and some of them, like bright nova bolt/blast get spammed a lot. I should look for more beneficial procs for those powers.
I do appreciate any constructive feedback and ideas, of course, as I am again actively seeking money and IO's for my tried and true flying squid of power spamming.
I recently made him a human only form as well, though just on SO's for now. It works in a team but not yet solo.... IO's will fix that.
Now, if you want to send a few billion my way (send PM for global) I will be happy to work out my perfect build for Symby and show you what I came up with as well as how well it works.

They once were nasty, I am almost say that got nerfed.
-
My tri form build the last four or five powers I just have to pick something, as I already have all my key abilities, being able to go into an epic or patron pool would allow for some better options.
-
I'd say I'd rather have the old unfixed version back. Yes they were sometimes worse about locking on and going off, when they did however the AOE was bigger and hit harder. We were told the damage and range were cut down to make up for the all new accuracy and better targeting.
Worked better before. Maybe only one when off on a spawn, but it hurt them all and next spawn you still had two to go off. When they would all go off it was like a mini nuke, not a please try to be hurt and dont laugh at what I did to you. -
Quickest way I know to get tips is to burn though very large numbers of grey mobs. There are places where a higher level character can do heinous amounts of arresting in short order. hazard zones are good for large spawns.
-
Go with something that interest you and you think you'd enjoy. The rest will follow. Play style and attitude makes as much or more difference with effectiveness then your AT.
What kind of characters do you tend to like most? Casters? Melee? Tank? -
Quote:Actually... not random.
The more one plays, the more one is likely to get debt.
The more one plays, the more one is likely to get shards.
The more one attacks higher ranked foes, the more one is likely to get debt.
The more one attacks higher ranked foes, the more one experiences a higher shard drop rate.
There can be a real correlation between A and B, but not because one causes the other, but because C causes both.
That says nothing that disproves randomness. -
Quote:He may or may not be full of it from his point of view.
It's called the perception phenomenon. Players in a game tend to notice when things that are unusual happen. E.G. players tend to remember attacks that miss, rather than attacks that land.
It is very possible that the guy on your team only noticed the shards dropping when he had debt because he was looking for any kind of relational behavior: He performs the X event, which causes random Y drop event to occur.
It is very possible that an identical or larger sum of shards were dropped while the player was NOT in debt, but those drops were either ignored or did not register because they didn't fit any particular relational pattern.
It is also very possible that due to the random number generator, the guy may have only gotten shards while in debt due to the timing and the rolling of the random number generator, and the debt was simply a coincidence.
The development staff at Cryptic and now Paragon Studios have been very clear in the past that item drops are all based off their own separate generation systems. There is no intentional You do X event and it causes random Y drop event occur behavior coded into the engine.
Most of the player held theories on X performance causing Y random drop event are often disproved by simply running HeroStats.
Case in point. Everytime there is a patch, some player comes running to the forums screaming that accuracy has been nerfed. Two or three herostats sessions later and the logfiles show that no, accuracy was not nerfed. The player just noticed a string of misses and it stuck out.
By the same token, everytime somebody comes running into the forums saying that X performance causes Y random drop event... chances are some stat tracking later will show that there is no relation.
I quite agree however I also consider how new shards are to the game and keep room aside for the possibility of the code having an error. The question being how do we check?
What I am walking away with is that I now want to do ITF's (perhaps most end game TF's) with 7 lvl 48 characters and myself. And it is time to do another Hammi raid or two. -
Quote:Stealth + AS = meanest mob in each group down before the fight starts.I don't see how stalkers are designed to go solo any more then scrappers, brutes, veats, or MMs. Really with less health they are worst soloers. Could you elaborate.
Uber stealth ( zero end cost, only one power no IO needed) allows for sneaking to the end easyer. -
I go with that one. People who have their 'perfect' play style idea and expect each and every other person to conform to it.

Quote:Keep in mind ram is extra, 4 or 8 gig sticks can be pricey. Though putting 8*2 would be enough for an application or two. Maybe windows if you squish it down a lot. A 32 gig drive would fit OS easily and allow for some pretty fast boot times.Wow $500 for up to 64GB thats tough to swallow, but if you got it...
Still I expect this product is aimed at commercial and business use. I bet a big ram drive would make Photoshop fly like the wind. -
In addition to trying safe mode, you might want to try removing and 'cleaning' the driver (nvidia now has a clean install option) and reinstalling it.
Video driver updates dont always work very well. If a file is still in use it cant be replaced and you end up with bits and pieces of both drivers. -
For the last couple days, across Virtue, Infinity and Justice, I have been experiencing extreme input lag when using the auction houses. Both Red, Blue and Praetorian.
Both dragging items into the Auction UI and typing in it, for example typing 100000 or 5000000 takes four or five seconds to echo on the screen. Each character slowly showing up one at a time.
The rest of the game, outside the usual lag in the ITF seems fine.
Anyone know what is up with this. -
Quote:Your suggesting something more like this?Okay you're already running fairly high for endurance consumption. But you avoided Power Sink?
Also, optimal slotting for Stamina would probably be: Common: EndMod, PerfShift: EndMod, PerfShift: +End
I'd also think about doing the same for Physical Perfection too.
I did some math and the end procs would seem to add about 22 end/min. Not tons but more. More importantly they are not suppressed after a Power Surge crash.
Energize can be up with only a few seconds downtime between cycles. That cuts end use a lot as well.

Quote:I have a nova/dwarf build. Well, Nova/Dwarf/Human, in that even after slotting out the two forms you have more slots to use and more powers you have to pick. So I picked a few things like the nova and the seekers to 6 slot put a few slots in the stun, etc, With Nova maxed out for slots, acc/dam/end-redux/recharge all at the ED wall the blast ability is really pretty good. I have the dwarf slotted out on the attacks, same strategy. Of course the dwarf form has 3 resists in it. With the spiritual Alpha my attacks recharge even faster. A lot less down time for the dwarf which is good (I almost have a real attack chain now), and I can rapid fire single target damage in nova now with no down time. The AOE's are up pretty quick too.I'd some of these last night on a level 20ish PuG where the leader was a PB and I was a Warshade. Didn't spot one until it was too late either (my "target quant/void" bind is currently borked which I must fix). He was being me doing something unpleasant with his gun and I was dead before I knew what was happening (oo-er)
We also had a Cyst but I never even got to see it, we'd split and the blaster or corrupter found it and blew it to pieces with snipes before we even knew about it (before being killed by a boss standing beside it).
Last mish we were fighting +3 Arachnos and we had to Tank between us because the Ice Tank was being eaten alive by them somewhat. I was very impressed by the dual form PB and his survivability. If I was going to play a PB that'd be the way I'd go for it, a Human/Dwarf build.
I used to have some end issues in dwarf if the fight went long. Inherent fitness fixed that. With a team it is easy to get the 85% damage resist cap, with lots of recharge in the heal, well I am not the best tank but I do OK for many situations. If the main tank goes down I can take over, or if a second tank is needed I can off tank. Otherwise I get to blast away like no tomorrow. I pop into human form every now and again if I need to stun, photon seeker or dawn strike. All in all I am pretty happy with the character.
I used to hate it when I would get mezed in nova and fall to the floor. Now you just kinda float there and can hit the dwarf button and keep going. Of course with enough controller types in the party I dont get mezed. -
I am thinking about something like this for lvl 50. Not that I have the inf for this, guess it is a dream project.
It would fit my play style very well.
I am happy to hear constructive criticism.

Quote:I have been know to amuse myself in grandville. Up, way up, in the web structure. Turn on FB+Repel (whirlwind would work as well) and teleport into large spawns near the edges. It's fun on those high bridges on the ITF. Raining men indeed.
The mobs can go surprisingly far.
I am surprised when they make it back, always at full hit points. -
Quote:I disagree about repel being useless. My point is that Repel is nearly useless (it can be an okay panic button, but it's not much beyond that), and Whirlwind is substantially worse - higher endurance cost, much later availability, silly-looking animation.
Unless, of course, you're after the silly-looking animation, which does make the power stand out from the competition - even Typhoon's Edge or Thunder Strike and friends. The Horse Stance Assassin's Strikes come close, but Whirlwind sets a new bar for looking ridiculous.
On my bots/ff mastermind, before force bubble, I used it very often to push groups into corners and lock them Down. I have also had as many as tree bosses unable to act just flopping around in a corner with it.
I still have repel. While force bubble has a greater dont touch me range, it does not inhibit attacks like repel. It is good for emergencies. Or team situations where FB is too big.
Repel also takes the proc for 5 seconds of +100% recharge. Sadly FB does not. -
Quote:How would one get a t4 power pool pick for that level range? It sorta helps with crowd control in low lvls 1-20. However, it becomes useless later on since toons get their AOE powers and killing a bunched up mob is easier than running after them when whirlwind spreads them out.
Or is the above subtle humor? -
Quote:I ran into something I hadnt seen in a while, just a few days ago, a boss with a quantum weapon. That was a pain. Though not a big pain. It's certainly not an annoyance to me. The voids and quantums aren't particularly dangerous (except to a kheld). As for the cysts, I WELCOME them. I see them so rarely that it's exciting when we run into one. Seriously, my PB is level 37 and I think I've seen two cysts so far. They spawn so much less often than voids and quantums.
