  1. Maybe that's just how the animators feel most comfortable with in terms of style? I don't know why it has to be them copying another series. Plenty of shows have and have had simpler designs. Feels like everyone in here feels the need to compare this show to JLU.

And yeah, gotta agree with the good voice actors so far.

Gotta love this generation. Everything needs to happen right this instant.

Couldn't their opinions at least be worth respectfully disagreeing with, without a dismissive "u mad? kthnxbai."

FYI, this stuff is on test for us to...test. Part of testing is providing feedback.
This is one part of one issue. Pretty sure there'll still be plenty of other things to do in future updates.

There are at least five things wrong with that sentence. But I'm sure nothing I could say could convince you that patience is a virtue and that 4 seconds is still an incredibly short time.

  10. Sounds really fun. Can't wait to see the Rare/Very Rare stuff.

Also, in before the "Devs hate us! TEAMS!" rage.

Given it litterally costs you nothing to watch, you don't have to catch it when it airs(making your trailer comparsion moot to this.), and if you love these characters in the past or super heroes in general there's a good chance you will like this show is all everyone is getting at. Taking an ignorance stance and bothering to come into the thread about just seems silly on multiple levels because you aren't even giving an educated opinion or contributing anything productive to the topic. Just feels like crap stirring for sake of going against the crowd. Not because it's cool or even a good cop out for not doing something. So if you get railed in this thread, don't be surprised by the backlash. So simply be as done with this thread quickly as you were with the show and save everyone else some time if you don't care to form a real opinion.
People love to complain. Don't let it get to you.

But why are people linking to bad intros? Why not link to a good one?
Eugh. Never been a fan of the music in that. The intro itself was awesome, but getting a couple Japanese girls to start singing it was just...not something I looked forward to listening to.
  13. That tram's at least in the center-ish. I'm not complaining, just pointing out.

Better idea, though. Toss a Black Helicopter up there. Always like to see that get more use.

Staves have been hinted at as in the works, just require a ton of animations. Doubt we'd get scythes as a weapon choice for staves, though, since they not only are terrible for combat but would do lethal damage, whereas a staff set would do smashing. Plus, not interested in the whole army of goths/emos/grim reapers that would be made. But I completely support staves.

And if we were to be able to make our characters like we do custom AE enemies, that would present a whole host of issues and broken characters.

The first time it really hit me was with I11 and the Midnight Squad. Ashley McKnight's writing was actually pretty good, but Montague Castanella's writing is HORRIBLE, to the point of being painful to sit through. And I have to sit through it if I want access to the Midnight Club.

What makes me the most mad is that there are obviously talented writers on staff, as evidenced by some of the better content we've seen lately, such as Vincent Ross' arc and earlier than that Dean McArtuhr's arc. And, hell, most of Praetoria feels like it was written by actual professional writers. These stories make sense, they tie together, and above all they are well-written. So why the hell are they always paired up with such obvious amateurish work? It wouldn't be as obvious or as grating if everything in the game were badly written, but not everything is. Some of the new story arcs are very good, and some are very bad. And when you have very good stories, the very bad really, really, REALLY stand out.

I know the City of Heroes developers and writers can do better than this. I want them to do better than this.

    *edit*
Just as a random example, I'm doing Division: Line right now, after having run both of Levantera's arcs and Serpent Drummer's arc. By this point, I'm well aware of the factionalization of the Rikti society here on Earth, of which faction stands for what, of the human-Rikti peace talks, of C'Khelkah's personality and contribution to the peace talks and the entire situation. And yet Angus has me exploring the possibility that the Rikti have split into factions, trying to figure out which Faction we want to fight more and "capturing" C'Khelkah and interrogating her, all in an eventual attempt to stop the second Rikti invasion which happened two years ago.

Just about everything that has taken place in Division: Line up until now has made me instinctively question events. Why are the Rikti stealing Portal technology when they clearly have their own, and when they already have a "tenuous" portal back to their Homeworld. How was C'Khelkah at the negotiations when I'm just capturing her now. Why don't I know that it's not the Traditionalists who are evil? Why is it surprising that the Rikti would try magic? And so on, and so on, and so on. Division: Line is a great arc, easily one of my most favourite, but these gaping plot holes are ruining it for me. Of course, I don't blame the original writer of the story for this, because back in I1, it still made sense. I blame whoever it was that decided to move all of these revelations back to the 35-40 level range, yet left Angus' 40-45 unchanged. Even Maria Jenkins and Tina McIntyre's old arcs got updated so as to make sense (kind of), yet this one was left behind, and it's really, REALLY souring me on the experience.
    Calm down there, broham.

I seriously hope a graphical and textural update (Yes, I know Ultra Mode was only recently, thank you) is in the works for a 'Soon' issue...sadly, I'm also not counting on it. I'm dead certain it would go a long way to giving the old girl some freshness, though.
I know it's not an overnight procedure by any means, but at this point CoH is in desperate need of a graphics overhaul in terms of older enemy groups and zones versus newer enemy groups and zones. Considering graphics actually are a large pull for gamers of today, I'd hope they are at least taking this matter into heavy consideration.

But yeah, the Wolfpack bots really need some spit, polish and heavy graft engineering to bring them up to standard. As do the Council and 5th Column troopers themselves. They are looking incredibly low-rez these days.
Agreed. But I think Savage has said that the only reason they'd do that was if they had that much spare time or found an actual reason to aside from "It needs to be done to make the game not look 7 years old."

At this point I imagine David and co. are doing the hard graft of actually converting these pieces for PC use. I doubt they'd go to the trouble of asking us what we wanted only to turn around and not do it.
Considering some of these pieces were already in game and given to players at some point...
  20. Bane would be pretty sweet. Finally give him a chance to be featured in film as an actual intelligent character that managed to break the Batman.

I've often wondered what the hell happened to those, as well. Probably a meeting that went like this.

"Hey. Know what's more villainous and creative than face wrappings or a fur mantle?"

    "What's that?"

"Spikes and chains. Everywhere. Replace half of these lame costume pieces with spikes and chains. The players will love it!"

They are a fair bit bigger than even the biggest of us, though.
If we get too big, we won't be able to fit through doors, causing the devs to have to rework the entire City of universe. The world already caters to max height Huge folk, but I think if you get any bigger than that then whenever you walk through a door your head will go through the trim.
