1. Can I come to? I have a fire/kin with the -exact- same build as Bert!

I think the reason you stick to 50s is not because of how long it takes you to kill them, but rather that's the only thing that build is able to hit on a consistant basis.

[/ QUOTE ]

The build works well against 52s as well. Although the accuracy issues makes 54s almost impossible.

Are you fighting level 54 bosses War_Admiral?
3. What level bosses are you guys taking on? 52s or 54s? And doesn't the Dual Blades -def attack make them less ideal than maniacs for farming?

Thanks for the build bro. It cost me a bit more than 150 million
5. It was for the booster pack.

The anti-PLing exploit was added on to it.

Server Status

The servers are currently closed off for a three hour maintenance window.

During this time the servers may be up & down as NCSoft internally test whatever it is they're currently patching.

The servers should be back in about 2 hours from now.

I remember it was Statesman & Hero1 who came up with most of the game's story bible. Dakan was just senior designer.

[/ QUOTE ]

As stated earlier in the thread, Rick Dakan came up with the idea for City of Heroes, wrote (according to various interviews) the bulk of the game's backstory, and was Lead Designer until late 2002 (and look how long Melissa Bianco, aka War Witch has been with the game!). Hero 1 wasn't hired until Issue 9 or 10-- he's the current steward of the "story bible", but he didn't come up with most of it. We have no idea how much Jack Emmert contributed to it, the only other person I've seen mentioned as having anything to do with it is Sean "Manticore" Fish (who I'd guess is likely second to Dakan in contribution, though it would be awesome to have a dev clear this stuff up).

[ QUOTE ]
I think Dakan posted under the screename "Gaffer" but i'm not sure. It's been 8 years after all.

[/ QUOTE ]

As stated earlier in the thread, that was Jeremy Gaffney, the NCSoft executive producer for CoH (quoted as such here in a Ctrl+Alt+Del blog post-- second on the page).

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm I remember there being a Hero1 dev on the boards in 2001.

9. We aren't allowed to reply with "/signed."

So I will simply say that this sounds like a good idea.

The Fire/Kin solo build I'm using. Soft-capped Smashing/lethal. Cost about 140m to slot out before the LotG sets, I haven't grabbed those but am putting in bids. Between Flashfires and Fissures, a lot of stuff is gonna be stunned, Fire Cages immobilizes for a sort of pseudohold.

If you're fighting minions and lieutenants, nothing will touch you. Fighting bosses, well. They probably still won't touch you. Hotfeet + Fissures + Fire Cages does most of the damage (I'm tossing about 220 damage with containment on Fissures, for example, which recharges in this build every 6.8 seconds). Things die really fast. Really, really fast. Absolutely slaughters Cimerorans, I can tank in the ITF except against the Nictus (where I can pop a couple of purples and tank them anyway).

Will give you all the money you ever need for the investment of 140m up front and an eventual ~180-200m if you really want that extra few 7.5% global recharge.

[/ QUOTE ]

Would love to see a build that can do that for ~150 million.

Event Horizon's text was quite cutting, but the real and genuine kicker was as I zoning out, and suddenly connected the dots between the "don't let them break the barricades" text and the custom critters in the first mission.

[/ QUOTE ]

The small zombies were children weren't they.

That's messed up!
12. This arc was incredible! I recommend it to anyone who is playing COH. Hands down the best mission in the MA.

Question though - in the foggy caves why were there level 25 Coralax running around? My level 20 brute had a hard time beating them down.

13. Good call on Hardcase.

I was sick of the "He's so tough you better watch your step" dialogue I was being given. Especially reading it right after Back Alley Brawler a beat-down.
14. Just did Deathbug's "Time's Maelstrom #182874" Arc. Was a lot of fun. Was tough to solo even with my tricked out Blaster. (SS/Kin is a nasty combo for an EB.) BUt I managed to drop everything and save the universe. I really liked the dynamic of the final mission also.

You can read more about it here.

Will give "Sidekicks" and "splendid pals" a look next time i'm in game.
15. I really liked this arc! It's nice to see someone write a time-travel arc without giving the player a migraine. Despite the complexity of the subject, i think Deathbug handled time travel very well.

The story was very compelling and reminded me of a SUPERHERO COMIC BOOK! What a rare thing!

16. I wasn't really looking for homage's, just arcs that had the same feel. Full of heroes/villains you can imagine the JSA interacting with.

A homage would be cool too i guess. Dunno how allowed that would be though.

Of course I drink tea...

However I don't have a Posh or Cockney English accent.

we do have, many accents, a quick run down is Manchurian (Manchester), Liverpudlian (Liverpool), Brumie (Birmingham), Yorkshire, Lancastrian, Somerset, Dorset, North London, South London, East London, West London (each side of London has it's own specific accent, Central London is of course Cockney though Cockney rhymning slang in constant use is dying out, various words to filter through to the various London based accents, such as "having a Butchers" at something comes from "Butchers Hook" which meant "Look" in Cockney rhymning slang) and there's quite a few others I've left out of this already long list.

(I have a South London accent, not quite as gutteral as East London however we tend to speak very fast and clip our words).

[/ QUOTE ]

You forgot about Yorkshire. Hollywood is going bananas after they discovered it (Sean Bean) and now use it far too much.
18. Justice Society of America

Has all the oldschool DC heroes in it. (The Flash, Green Lantern, Wildcat, Mr. Terrific, etc.)

I'm not looking for an arc containing those characters, just wanted something similar in scope/function. Silver age/golden age heroes / etc.

Guess there's not a lot of interest in old school comics here. Shame.
19. Just got told I wasn't allowed to log into virtue because my game account wasn't "NCSoft Staff".
20. Just tried logging into the server. Got a very interesting message.
21. I'm looking to play through a few arcs and post up some reviews here. My favourite hero team of all time is the JSA and am looking for some stories inspired by the JSA. (Costumed villains, time travel, elaborate plots, silver age goodness.)

Post up your arcs in this thread and i'll get around to them when the servers are back up. Thanks!
22. Bookmarked so I cn check this when the severs are up.
23. Villains - Requiem. The original big bad. Head of the Nazis, and the evil aliens from outer space. Has a flaming head. Guy is AWESOME! Our very own Red Skull

Heroes - Faultline. I really liked his story and it's awesome to see his presence in low & high level content. He's a lot less linear & one-dimensional than the other heroes in the game. He has clear motivations and is well written.

Honourable mentions:
Wretch, Tyrant, Hopkins, Col. Duray, Dark Watcher, Positron.
24. Yeah they're patching & there are no patch notes. I.e. Issue 15 release.
