Name: Time's Maelstrom
Arc ID: 182874
Creator Global Name: @Armory1
Difficulty Level: Difficult
Synopsis: A rupture between timestreams has doomed the future. Can you save the world and Time itself, and after all of that decide the fate of billions?
Number of EB/AVS – 6
Story Type - Global domination/Time travel/Player-determined outcome
Mission Count: 5

My third arc, but by far the toughest one to write.

Heavily story-focused, lots of text and clues. It's time travel, it's global domination, and it's a player-chosen outcome. It's designed to be difficult, but not impossible. You'll find EBs in Mish 3 with no allies, mish 4 is contains 4 EBs (with a couple of allies) and an AV, and Mish 5 contains 2 EBs...if you choose to fight them. Yes one mish is a kill all, but it makes sense (trust me) and it's not a bad map for it. The last two mishes are timed.

I have one board review, from theHedoren, which can be found
here. He also said, "By far the best time-travel arc I've seen. Ends with a well-executed moral dilemma." (Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it!)

Any and all feedback is welcome. Time travel is tough, it gave me headaches writing it, I certainly hope nobody gets one playing it. And of course, feel free to play and rate the other two arcs in my sig.

What a great story! Searching the hospital was the only painful part. I soloed it on level 1 difficulty with a controller, other types might need plenty of break-frees.

I chose to let millions live (even if they're not in my future). The technology could show up in any timeline that I'm not in, better to learn to live with it, I say. It gets even wrigglier to think it perhaps already did, and there's an Ouro above Ouro that's keeping things under control on another level. Nevermind that I clobbered Manticore and Posi, to well, kill time. I guess it had to be me dressed as Manticore back there in the Main. Wow. Cool.

The story holds together as a very enjoyable whole. Thank you! *^5.

Thanks very much! Sad to hear the hospital is still there, I thought I changed that map. Glad you enjoyed it!

That map is changed, and confirmed even.

Hey folks, don't miss out on what one reviewer called "the best time travel arc I've seen," with "a well-executed moral dilemma"!

You can also find it on the CityofHeroes Mission Review Site

Will definately run it when my character Time Shifter gets high enough level. Always looking for good time travel arcs.

More shameless self-promotion, 'cause it seems to be working so far!

Some recent comments:

"Love, love love love the temporal mechanics."

"Interesting story, big fan of time travel..."

And of course,

"Cool."

All three arcs in my sig have had I15 min-makeovers. The most structural changes occurred to "Sidekicks", and "Divas" was overhauled to increase teh funnay (read those descriptions!). So if you've played either of those before (all 50 or so of you), don't hesitate to try them again.

I really liked this arc! It's nice to see someone write a time-travel arc without giving the player a migraine. Despite the complexity of the subject, i think Deathbug handled time travel very well.

The story was very compelling and reminded me of a SUPERHERO COMIC BOOK! What a rare thing!

Thanks Xanatos, and everyone who's left comments. Always appreciated.

This arc should be queued up with Bubbawheat and Lazarus, but why wait for their reviews? Play an @Armory1 arc today (see siggy)!
