Was there any ETA provided?
-
What a pathetic fail that is...
So, let's review:
Staff Fighting - No
Beast Mastery - No
Converters - No
So very anti-climactic.
I know they'd mentioned (if you knew where to look) that the ATs weren't going to launch today, but still, they seem to have failed to release just about everything I was looking forward to in this update...
Hopefully the new trial will at least be fun, or did that not make it into the release either... -

That sucks! Been playing a Staff/EA on Beta ans was eager to roll him 'for real'.
-
If only someone had mentioned that he was SS/Inv+WP+Regen...
Oh wait... -
Thanks for all the input, suggestions. My SS/EA Brute just hit lvl 21 last night, and he is fun so far. I haven't spent any real inf on him yet, so I have a few minor End issues when I go non-stop from group to group, but overall he is solid. Survivable, decent dmg and a steady pace, even at low levels. I'm looking forward to adding some ATOs and other shiny things to him soon and seeing what happens.

I have nothing of merit to contribute to this thread, but felt compelled to mention that every time I read the title, I hear it in my head in full-on Jerry Seinfeld-voice.

My friend's cousin's brother-in-law told him that his Mom heard from a Developer's Sister's Roommate that an ex-Forum admin's Maid thinks the new Incarnate Abilities will be an AoE Mez and a Single Target Auto-Kill, and they'll be released 1 week after i22 goes live.
True Story... -
Quote:This + OP = LOLI've been playing this game for over thirty years and frankly you are a damned idiot if you don't run QP/SL. It has the most DFA, it has the best ETD, and you won't find a single Quorn rancher on freedom running any other combination. You want proof? Bam. I pity anyone who runs PU/MT or, god forbid, WN/TL. Have fun at the yearly nursing home clambake, you relic.
Edit: by the way, here's the only good build:

I;m sure its a blast, but for concept reasons, I am not interested in Titan Weps right now.
Any thoughts on the 2 combos I am considering? -

Easily found via search or a quick look at pages 2/3 of this forum. -
Going to re-roll my Brute to have some more AoE goodness (currently DM/EA, which is too ST for this char's purpose).
Any thoughts on what would be a more fun/effective combo? -
-
Hulk would be a SS/WP+Invul+Regen Brute.

From my understanding, Alpha abilities act as an added Enhancement to all powers that take enhancements using the traits modified by your specific Alpha ability. So, if a power does not take enhancements slots, it would not be modified by your Alpha ability.
If this is incorrect, please let me know, though I am fairly sure it is accurate. -
Do I have to take all of the rewards in one tier before I start taking ones in the next, even if I have the requisite tokens?
For example, I have about 1/2 of the rewards in Tier 6, but have enough tokens to be a Tier 7 VIP. However, all of the Tier 7 rewards are locked for me. -
Quote:Never thought about it that way, but I would also assume (though I could be completely wrong) that the power's effect starts when clicked, not when the animation is complete. So, you still get 15 seconds of +DEF, but for the first three you are standing around not doing anything.Worth noting that 3 of those 15 seconds are spent activating the power - meaning that you only have 12 seconds left after activation.
I wish the animation was shorter, but remember, this is a Pool Power, which are meant to not be quite as effective as normal AT powers. The animation time is the ONLY drawback to an otherwise fantastic power for Melee Toons (at least for the Scrappers I've used it on). YMMV. -
From a cosmetic standpoint, my DM/Regen has a fantastic Dark look. Was easy to customize by turning everything to a black/grey color in power selection, and a nice dark tendrils aura on the head and hands (full body looked cool, too, fwiw).
From a playstyle standpoint, Regen is a much more 'active' set that most of the others, since it relies very heavily on click powers and situational awareness. That being said, I LOVE it, and other than iTrial 1-hit deaths, my Scrapper hardly ever dies (unless I am not paying attention, which is more often than I care to admit ). It also does nothing to address any lack of AoE in a primary, but it is fairly easy to hit 32.5% S/L Def and has a bit of resist as well (somewhere in the 20s for common dmg types). And the best part, you will never, ever, have to worry about Endurance.
Not the most obvious replacement for DA, but certainly worth considering. -
I use Dark Blast on my DM/Regen Scrapper as my 4th attack power, and love it. The DMG is solid, and with all of the recharge I stack on that toon, I can spam it all day long if I need/want to stay at range. The utility it offers to a ST, melee toon is just great. I feel similarly about Soul Storm, though that I use more for fun than utility.
Gloom is not available for Scrappers.
Shadow Meld, at least for my scrapper, is fantastic. It lasts 15 seconds, but is up again in about 45, so there is only about 30 secs of downtime even if you don't have anything else. A VERY useful power. -
I'll have to try it out, then. Thanks for the suggestion!

Quote:Traditionally, I don't really like the stealth playstyle. Even in WoW, my rogues were battle-rogues who rarely used stealth. I just find stealthing around to find the optimal time to pounce slows down the play a little too much for my liking. Not that it is bad, just not my personal cup of tea.Have you thought about going Stalker route? Or are you looking for the slight aggro aura.
Now, I haven't tried the Stalker AT yet since I;ve come back to CoH, but I assume, from watching them play and from reading stuff here on the forums, that I am not completely wrong in my assumptions of the playstyle. If I am, please let me know!!
