Ok, so you don't like them. That's cool. I like them I just have no reason to do them anymore as I get nothing from it. Adding the tips to it would give me a reason to do them more. By extention, I don't think they're bad. I believe other people don't think they're bad. I think many people already have all the rewards available from the banner/zombie events giving them no real reason to do them. Adding the tips to the event would give people a reason to do them again.

That's complete garbage. It won't be special? So making the entirely new thing added to the event LAST YEAR, will take all the fun from the event? It would ruin it? Give me a break. Way to overreact, you should have stuck at /unsigned and left it at that.
    Calm down.

In other games where powers work exactly the same in PvP and PvE, there is a constant, never ending stream of powers changes due entirely to PvP players complaining about power a or ecstatic about power b, which drives another round of nerf cries and calls for buffs to powers, etc, etc, etc.

I would HATE to see that decoupling undone just because people don't want Issue 13's changes anymore. PvP MUST remain separate from PvE when it comes to powers definitions.

Second, PvP players are a niche market (PVP) of a niche market (City of Heroes) in a niche market (MMORPGS). They're very vocal, certainly, but PvP is NOT a big part of most people's gaming experience in City of Heroes or indeed in most MMORPGs.

I doubt very much that people will PvP more because of ANY changes to PvP. Even if PvP changes were reversed without decoupling, the only characters you'd see in the PvP zones are high defense + stealth + high DPS characters, aka Widows.
    Calm down.

No, he's an original character to Praetoria. Paolo Marino is a normal human who is currently handling a mission outside of Praetoria.

The winter stuff isn't really restricted to winter as much as it's restricted to whenever the devs open the chalet. People horde candy canes so whenever it opens they could get stuff ASAP, and the chalet is opened from time to time for events and such.
Devs opened the chalet during the Praetorian invasion, and I didn't see any presents or Winter Lords wandering around. Same goes for whenever they've used it for things like small player events like weddings. So I don't think it works like that.
  5. Keep the Halloween Tip to the Halloween season. Still bugs me that zombies/banners happen all the time, but the Winter stuff is restricted to winter.

This was not a test of any "new holster" technology.

Maelstrom has functional holsters because the devs control EVERY MOVE HE WILL EVER MAKE.

Maelstrom's holsters were not a test for implementing holstered weapons on a large-scale. They are a custom one-off set of animations specifically built to the actions Maelstrom can take, and are only available on Maelstrom's frame with his body build and exact costume parts.

Never been a fan of busy costumes, myself.
  8. I think the only nitpicks I have with Statesman's costume is that his cape looks tacked on and unnecessary, and the mask thing has always looked stupid. Remove the cape and put on a real helmet and I'd like it.

Not that that's a reason to not do it, some of the npcs in this game look petty dated by now. And come to think of it, did Luminary get all shiny when ultra mode came in? I can't recall, but the player version of the pieces she uses did.
I dunno, I heard a lot of positive remarks and comments about Nightstar and Battle Maiden getting new costumes back when GR first came out. Don't think I heard a single "I liked the old one." Same with Marauder, Seige, Neuron, etc.

    Agreed.
  11. Actually, some of the people in here were bringing up a valid concern, considering Aeon'll be looking for good arcs and their profanity filter is preventing certain good arcs from being noticed.

Besides, no issue can get too much notice. And this is still kind of a big issue.
  12. I didn't mind how you only had to run one ITF to get the set, or how the Vanguard merits could be earned by any sort of content in the entire game so long as Rikti were involved. And that's a lot. Pretty simple stuff that didn't require too much work.

But it does feel like in order to get the costume sets you've gotta grind and grind and grind. Can I just run one trial and get my auras and chest emblems like how I did with the ITF's Roman armor? Or can I earn E-merits from completing high level TFs/story arcs? Please? Give us more options.
  13. Easily one of the worst dressed contacts in game. I really wish they'd find someone new who's good at the costume creator and just let them redo every contact in the game.
  14. So many hardcore nerds were at my theater complaining. They were just...awful.

  17. Just got back from watching it. Definitely a good movie. Was really fun, funny, they didn't skimp on the action/ring constructs, and Ryan Reynolds wasn't bad as Hal. The only problems I had was there wasn't enough time spent on Oa, and the CGI looked really weak at some parts. Other than that? Worth it to watch.

Of course, I didn't really read a whole lotta the comics that much. Waiting for someone who did to come in and nitpick the thing to pieces.

PS: As usual, stick around midway through the credits. Cool scene.

  19. Could always just make a mission in the AE filled with allies that don your costume concepts. Walk around with 'em, see how it looks, then choose the best one and go with it. You get all the costume parts, and then some, to choose from. Plus AE is available to all (except Praetorians), simple to use, and is located in nearly every zone. No reason really to go balls out and invent something new.
