  1. I like Fire/Ice for lots of AoE with some controls to keep them in your AoEs.

Did you check out this beginning blaster comparison guide - it's fallen to the second page because it's still being edited:

    Leave my KB alone -_-

    [/ QUOTE ]

What part of the suggestion I made would alter your KB?

[/ QUOTE ]It would legitimize the perspective that there's something 'wrong' with KB while making a more-powerful, less skill-intensive version of the same power available with no comparative drawbacks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.
  3. [ QUOTE ]

Basically, Supergroups declare war on each other. For a period of three days, players can PVP players in the opposing Supergroups in any zone, but defeats do not cause debt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Point of clarification - do you mean literally any zone (even Atlas Park or Mercy Island) or do you mean any Arena or the designated PvP zones?

If the latter, then as long as I don't have to accept any SG challenges out there (and I won't be accepting any BTW) then whatever, why not?

But if you mean they can fight in literally any zone, then I think that could potentially cause a lot of collateral damage, confusion, etc., that impacts other players who didn't sign on to be a part of your SG War, so I would say "no" to that one.

Should just put a system in place that allows the team leader to change the secondary effects of his team mates powers. Meaning he could make energy blast powers either do knockback or knockdown.

When the team leader chooses what he is going to allow and not allow all party members will receive a pop up warning informing them that the team leader has made has made changes to team mates powers and it will promp them to stay or leave the team.

A solo player should also have this choice on his own.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So as a team leader, I could choose not to allow the secdondary DoT of any Fire powerset or the Slow for any Ice powerset or the -Res for Sonic powersets or End Drain for any Electric powersets? Interesting concept....

How do I put this delicately - oh, wait, I know -

OK, Lumi already put it as delicately as possible

    Report all Farms

    [ QUOTE ]
You know, it's weird. I'm only a six month vet and originally found the anti-farmer arguments to be convincing.

However, recent events and threads like this one have put me firmly in the camp of the farmers.

I just fail to see the harm in what they do (barring exploits like the Rikti comm officers, which I believe should've been fixed without any retroactive punishment, now).

More than anything else, the vehemence and vitriol displayed by certain "anti-farmers" have changed my mind.

I play my game for the fun I have in it. I've no problem teaming with either my SG mates or a PuG. Thanks to the MA Arc feedback in this forum and the MA tags, I've no problem finding MA arcs I want to play.

Now if a six-month old can do this, then surely more senior vets can do this, as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Humorously, I first read the last sentence as "if a 6 year old can do it.... And I flashed over to Wyll's thread about Sister Flame.

    But well put, Weiyau.

    Why?

    [ QUOTE ]
Nope -- 1 million Inf will buy you 2000 Prestige.

In my opinion, it really is easier to just put your inf into IOs for your toons and use their actions to roll up the Prestige. As for decorative rooms, I'd recommend starting with the 3x3 Oversight room. They're listed under "Control" and they're only 50K. I have one base that's an entrance room and four Oversights, so yeah it really is a viable way to go for purely decorative stuff. One of those rooms is three stories, which isn't so hard to do either for cheap.

If you're interested in what you can do on the cheap, I'm willing to show you my bases on Virtue.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Using multiple Oversight Rooms is a great idea!

At 50K apiece, they are the cheapest large open areas in the game, and you can divide them up by raising/lowering floors, blocking the center out entirely, etc.

Can you still place the single storage item in each of them? That would handle a good bit of storage as well - for the same cost as the smallest Workshop (1X2) you could have the same utility in 3X3 room (times as many as you want to place).

    Sweet!
  8. Set a Cubicle where you want the beacon to be - remember that it can actually overlay the teleporter itself because you will be selling it. Stack it on a Floor Safe if you need more height.

Place the beacon on the appropriate wall of the Cubicle.

    Then sell the Cubicle back.

You can float wall items all over the place using this method. I used it to float a wall SG banner in a doorway as a screen.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I'm just dropping it I really don't have time to keep going through alot of different threads for little tidbits of information. I understand theres an engine problem which is fine but I had it referred to as far as having more then one person in a mode of transportation. I've read that there would be alot of different animations needed but in this version you would just need 4 to 5 maybe close to 10 if you needed to address certain issues. So Besides those two issues I don't have the time to read through alot of different threads to find little tidbits. I'll just say I see how validly useful these forms of transportation can be if they are not seen as worth it or important thats fine but I do think it can add to the game experience.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, a lot of those "little tidbits" were already consolidated into more or less a couple of posts in *this* thread, so no searching them out would have been required - just taking the time to read through this thread before jumping in....
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Ok I'm kinda confused as I haven't read the whole thread but instead of worrying about power animations why not make it where you use it and you get hit you get knocked off the mode of transportation, either it falls over (more complicated version) or simply dissappears.

Have the mode of transportation a self contained entity when your in it you can't use powers or emotes and such. Make it on par with super speed where theres only horizontal movement or just forway movement as I see it most of the streets are horizontal regardless.

Hence it would be almost identical to super speed perhaps add some powers to have some kind of defense. Possibly using a exhaust trail power for motorcycles/cars that would add a disorient, or confuse and stealth bonus to the player. You can give jets/planes/etc a gale like power that knocks enemies back if wanted.

There is other creative powers you can give it but basically as superspeed is considered kind of a broken travel power leave this one the same way. Like super speed it has limitations in the real world its ok to reflect that in game.

Storyline wise there is no reason for a natural hero/villain to have a travel power currently but if we didn't we'd never get teams. So I don't see the problem with making planes/jets a variant of fly and cars/motorcycles a variant of superspeed. Each would come with different powers and would be programmed akin to their currently used variants.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You need to read the whole thread. Your ideas have been answered in the thread (and in multiple other threads throughout S&I).

There are definite technical & mechanical reasons.
  11. Ad Astra

    Why?

    <QR>

I got a base that was pretty functional for the 300K Prestige you get for the first 15 members. It had Control/Energy, Storage, a Teleporter and, IIRC, a Rez Ring. There are guides out there to help you make that happen.

What are you trying to build that needs more control than the Combo Unit in the Oversight Room, Ultimo_?

We can perhaps you get some more of the functionality you are looking for if we knew what you wanted to see.

Although I do agree that the jump between the Combo Unit/Oversight Room and the next larger separate Energy & Control Rooms with those items is a pretty steep jump for the new base builder. That's actually the point where I would like to see an adjustment made.

I have 1 empty Fruitopia Fruit Integration and 1 Strawberry Passion Awareness 2L right here...

I drink many kind of fruits mixes, like Tropicana or Oasis.

I also drink ice tea, I just love the Arizona Ice Tea. They have them huge cans for 99 cents and now that I looked for their website, I saw new flavors... Gah must find them!

I also drink soda, Coke or Pepsi most of the time.

    Just goes to show -

See, where *I* live (central Ohio in Buckeye-land), you can find 20 different flavors of Arizona Ice Tea and its competitors in every "stop & rob" convenience store. But it's daggone difficult to find anything much non-caffeinated like Fruitopia - typically, you can only find Sprite or something like that.

    Beautiful argument.

Unfortunately, since your suggestion is in regards to farming within the MA, it belongs in the official farming in the MA thread, just like all the other farming in the MA threads. Thus, while you've explained why it's in this forum, it's actually disregarding the specific requests of the moderators of this forum, which is against Rule 13. To rectify this situation, all you need to do is contact the moderators and let them know you would like this thread deleted. Once deleted, you can repost your suggestion in the appropriate thread.

    Have a nice day.

Having had Mod8 visit this thread twice, it would appear he disagrees with your conclusions.

I wouldn't mind if they changed all powers that did knockback to knockdown, except for Nova. That power only makes sense to have it.

Leave my KB alone, especially on all my squishy blasters & defenders.

There may be some merit in changing a mechanic for Tankers (I don't play any Tankers with KB), but for all the other 15-20 characters with it in at least one power, it would change my playstyle a bunch, just for the convenience of others who can't be bothered to move the character forward a few feet (that's even assuming that my KB is what has caused the need to move BTW).

I'd add that blasters who frequently get to the point where defiance even applies....

are playing the AT poorly (imho)...

    padding the faceplant statistics...

Are you talking about Old Defiance here?

'Cause all of my Blasters start building Defiance 2.0 damage boost with their very first shot, and pretty frequently have to fire through Mez.

    I don't *think* I'm a bad blaster.
  19. <QR>

    Sam,

While I can agree with you that more leg options would be great to have, parts of several of your posts have been bothering me - those parts where it seems you are saying that a costume must have a single theme on both top & bottom. Is that your aesthetic? Because it isn't necessarily mine.

Caveat: My comments are all regarding Female costume options, I rarely make Male or Huge alts and can't comment on them.

Some of my alts costumes call for armor on the top with a short skirt & stiletto heels (the heels mainly because both the platform & flat heels cut off the leg and make it look shorter). I like the longer leg (I use the sliders all the way up on Legs, even for my short alts) - to me, it fits my own personal picture of how a superheroine looks based on the comics I enjoyed as a child (and still do enjoy), even though those comic superheroines rarely wore stilettos (with a few exceptions).

Some of the newer Heels options are downright oogly (Bridal, Witch, probably others) because they make the foot overly large and also appear to make them turn in for a slightly pigeon-toed look. I like the textures better, but I can't always bring myself to use them because of these appearance issues.

I also frequently mix & match the patterns for the various "Tops with Skin" and "Bottoms" with skin. Some of the Bottoms are (again) ugly. Some of the Tops don't even have a corresponding Bottom. Sometimes, a "Top with Skin" costume looks good with a skirt or regular shorts - BUT that needs a belt to divide them because (as you implied) the pieces don't flow together well, You seem to be saying that should be a big "no-no", that dividing Top from Bottom violates some aesthetic rule. Not in my book, sorry.

What I would like to see is some work done on better matching colors and textures between Tops & Bottoms. I hate to see the dividing line that is sometime present where the two meet, even using the same named costume pieces (Tights is actually an example of my pet peeve). If I can see where the Top & Bottom meet as a line across the body, you can bet I'm going to throw a belt across that line to hide it.

So while I can agree that more Bottom options would be nice, I can't agree that mixing what we have is some sort of costuming sin, nor that the "overuse" of Stiletto Heels means that costumes are lacking somehow.

So if she is set on NRG as primary what would be the "best" secondary for her?

How is sonic as a primary?

    Thanks

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I loved /Electric as a secondary for my Energy Blaster. /Energy is also pretty good synergy.

Sonic is a very decent primary, and I like it a bunch paired with /Energy. Some people find the sound of the blasts annoying, though.

Oh - to be more help to her, here's a draft guide beng written by Ipso_Facto posted over in the Blaster forum. it's a WIP, but it has some nice comparisons about all the Blaster primaries:

    I do that as well.
  23. Personally, I don't like the Fire secondary, it just doesn't play well to me, not sure why, so that's not much help.

My first Blaster (and the only character so far to level 50) is Energy/Electric. If she loves KB, the Electric secondary has KB in a couple of melee attacks to go with her blasts. I'm a big KB fan myself,

If she likes Energy for the KB, then you playing a Controller might get a bit frustrating as she KBs stuff away from your controls. You may want to consider a Defender for its combo of buffs/debuffs and blasts, usually from range and usually not as big a deal if she KBs stuff. I would definitely recommend staying away from playing a Scrapper or Tanker unless you don't mind chasing your targets from time to time.
