<SUGGESTION> Supergroup Wars
[ QUOTE ]
Basically, Supergroups declare war on each other. For a period of three days, players can PVP players in the opposing Supergroups in any zone, but defeats do not cause debt.

Point of clarification - do you mean literally any zone (even Atlas Park or Mercy Island) or do you mean any Arena or the designated PvP zones?
If the latter, then as long as I don't have to accept any SG challenges out there (and I won't be accepting any BTW) then whatever, why not?
But if you mean they can fight in literally any zone, then I think that could potentially cause a lot of collateral damage, confusion, etc., that impacts other players who didn't sign on to be a part of your SG War, so I would say "no" to that one.

In addition to what the others have said, you do know that you don't need to put <Suggestion> in front of your post titles, right? Everything in this forum should be some sort of suggestion.

I was originally thinking the regular zones, but that would be hard for red vs blue...to the map terminals would be better.
And leaders from both would have to agree. Since the maps are spawned through the terminals, SGers that don't want to join can simply refuse to enter the maps.
Obviously the idea needs refining. So any suggestions on how to make it work are appreciated.

Yes, I know it, but it's not against the rules and I like doing it.

/unsigned to the above. Spawnable maps, sure. But for something like the above? Most of my SGs have a mix of people like me who like some PVP, those who are indifferent, and those who despise PVP. Not to mention people just not wanting to deal with PVP - including seeing others doing it in zones other than the PVP zones.
Now, if it's a personal "permission" (with a cooldown,) so that only those who are interested deal with it - and in the spawnable instance or some such - fine. I can get behind that.
Let it even deal with bounty in a way - if you're in Siren's, for instance, and you take out someone in an opposing SG, get a bonus. (Same with RV, perhaps.)
I just don't want it imposed on people who are uninterested or even hostile to PVP.

Even if there was a way to issue challenges, people would abuse it by following a person/SG around and repeatedly challenging them in order to disrupt their gameplay.
A lot of thought as to how to implement it without disrupting the game for non participants is needed.

If it's done so it's a leader to leader agreement, it wouldn't matter if the rest of the SG followed you around. *shrug* And if they're verbally (well, text-ally) harassing you, that's what /petition is for.
That's why I switched to the SG War Terminal to zone into a spawned map.

Hi, we are not children here. Get over it. And stop hijacking the thread.
actually that was the first time i replied in this thread. and you have been asked by several people to stop doing this. we all know that this is the suggestions and ideas forum. and it wont get a dev to look at it anymore then not using it in the heading.
as for your idea: it can already be done in the arena. and doesn't have to be limited to 3 days. all you have to do is set it up with other sg's.
/jpowerranger
We already have the Arena, and zones dedicated to PvP. Both of which SG's can participate in.
Didn't EverQuest have something similar to this? I seem to recall leaving a guild because I didn't want to stay logged out for 7 days to avoid being caught in the middle of a guild war.
That said--I have no objection to having this option, as long as each individual member has the ability to opt out (example: all "War" maps are spawned instances and must be entered by willing participants.). Nothin' kills the fun quicker than bein' forced to participate in something you don't wanna do.
This can replace base raids, and save us from the pathing issues thing.
Basically, Supergroups declare war on each other. For a period of three days, players can PVP players in the opposing Supergroups in any zone, but defeats do not cause debt.
At the end of the three days, the Supergroup with the least number of defeats earns a War Merit.
WAR MERITS: can be exchanged by the Supergroup leader only. They are used to purchase SG-wide buffs...such as a recharge increase or such.
The buffs maybe would not be huge ones.
Another option is to add SG War terminals and create a special smack talking global channel for opposing factions to talk smack in and such.
The terminals can be used to create spawnable maps where the opposing factions do battle. These terminals can be used at any time during the three days.
This would allow Villain Groups to fight Hero Groups, and since each map spawn is random, respawn camping would be difficult. (sort of like in arena; except SGers would be able to enter at any time during the 3 days).
Well, that's my idea. It probably needs to be fleshed out, but I think it would be fun.
(I'm sure my stalker will shoot it down though)
