considering how few and far between Vanity items have been in the 7 years of this game's production compared to pretty much any other game on the market I'd just consider it playing catch up.
And not every market offering is going to appeal to every player. They've said this repeatedly. We're still getting a new costume and power set just about every month or so, either both or at least one or the other. -
It would still be generating buzz if they were still fixing it. But everything stopped before the new issue rolled out. It isn't done yet. Or rather, it -shoudln't- be done yet

Based on the last dev diary, tomorrow is going to be the leprechaun pet in time for St. Patrick's day.
Also listed was the SSA and Beast mastery coming out, so my guess is the SSA will be out next tuesday and Beast mastery out by the end of the month.
Staff, in April. -
Quote:This "problem" is also largely alleviated if you nab the supergroup beacon, which isn't that hard to get.DA is only "lacking" in the sense that there aren't a half dozen other zones leading to it. It's a zone based at Incarnate content and activity, from the trial to the iXP from meandering mobs across the zone. I truly don't see how it is "lacking" in any way other then accessibility. And even then, if you're really too lazy to go through one zone to get to another, you probably shouldn't be rolling that many 50's to re-Incarnate anyway.

is to redirect them to the ECHO of Dark Astoria.
...for pete's sake, really? That is hideously lazy and extremely immersion breaking. They should've redirected everything to one of the actual zones like Talos or even Boomtown or something :P
"The Circle are harassing people in an office building. Go save people! In the Ouroboros recreation of what Dark Astoria used to be like".
Just. Wow. Really Devs? XP -
No no, the Alpha shift applies to -everything-, where you're in Atlas Park or Peregrine Island or Dark Astoria. It's only the shifts from lore and Destiny that only apply to Incarnate content.
And yes, Sister Solaris' arc is considered part of the Dark Astoria arc, you'll earn rewards as you would on any Dark Astoria mission and at the end you'll be given another contact that will finish the zone's story. -
Oh so it's just a random part of the trial. kooky.
-
There's 4 in the trial.
We're... still frankly not sure how the claiming mechanic works. I ran it a couple times and we tried to figure it out. We -think- you have to speak with one of the NPCs at the opening, then -before- you complete an areas objective you need to interact with the meteor. It'll just do a standard glowy thing then you'll see "Meteor (Name) claimed!"
Doing all 4 nets you the badge. And that would be my guess where the buff comes from. -
Pretty sure its granted from claiming the meteors in the trial. If you check the detail info it's just like a 3% damage buff.
-
I'd say some of the contacts you need to unlock, like Archmage taraxus, since you have to know where the history plaques are to get the badge for him. Heroside.. yeah, anything in the shadow shard.

Quote:That'd be boring though.I would be interested to see the reaction to the Phasing tech used to transform DA into a permanently sunny Mob-free zone for every toon that completes the content lol.

Aaaand, question. Was the giant glowy red wall of runes always around Moth Cemetery? I don't recall seeing it until after I'd completed the story arcs. Did I just miss it before, or is that an effect of completing the zone? -
I22 seems to have fixed the Mastermind zoning bug and the lag warehouses. That right there is some massive quality of life upgrades <3

he shouldn't need to be unlocked, you should be able to hit him up from the get go. just keep in mind when doing it in ouro he's grouped in the 20-24 range even though his standard range is 15-24.

It's really within the realm of reasonable, no more than a few tweaks would set it solidly -to- 'reasonable'. Which is kind of what they intended, they started slow so they could tweak it up. Now that they're datamining a much larger population I would expect we'll see changes eventually to the rates.
The component drops seem a -lil- too heavily weighted toward common again. I won't be surprised if a few folks do some drop testing. Of my run through DA I got 3 common drops, 4 astrals, and 1 emp. Obviously too small a sample size but I'm hearing a lot of others getting mostly commons. Though getting a free choice for every arc the first time through is very nice.
There needs to be a way to earn a guaranteed empyreal every day so someone could reasonably work toward that magic 8 emps for a rare (not to mention the mythic 30 for a VR). The random roll between the two merits is too chancy. Honestly I'd rather just have the arcs award an astral simply for completing the arcs, no table choice, just something you get in addition. They drop like candy in iTrials and they have so little actual buying power in terms of incarnate progress. They're only good for burning for commons, maybe an uncommon if you're desperate, but it takes 4 astrals for a shard common, 5 for a thread common, 15 for an uncommon. Otherwise they're mostly worth blowing on costumes and other overpriced stuff. I honestly don't get the logic where 2 astrals and 1 emp is considered equal enough, getting the astrals feels like a complete jip.
And the repeatable mission reward needs to be tweaked up. 2 threads is a joke and can even be earned over the course of doing the mission. Honestly I've found myself taking the reward merits and the super insp, but then I don't need threads. Even so, 2 is so meager. It could at least be 5. Ideally I'd like to see an incarnate merit attached at the least. Emp would be super nice, but an astral would be ok since they're pretty fast and easy. -
Quote:But.. you do thwart Mot. With a lot of finality. You even get a choice to -stab- him and steal some of his power. The only thing Dilemma Diabolique resolves is what happens to Diabolique, which is much more of a sidestory. Mot is wrapped up in the the DA arc.I don't know that I finished the First Ward arcs with any character. I remember starting them and not caring about them much.
I liked the Dark Astoria arcs, but after the last one it seemed like there should be more. And that they should eventually lead to thwarting Mot. If the story is only resolved in a trial, that in itself is unsatisfying, but it seemed like there was room for another couple of arcs leading up to such a resolution.
What was the last contact you played? The Dream Doctor is the final contact. -
Quote:No, that's not working as intended. He's saying that where the bosses are -supposed- to spawn as AVs, meaning in big teams or when you have the AV option turned on with notoriety contacts, they're still spawning as Elite Bosses. He's not suggesting they should all just be automatically AVs at all times. No thanks.
You can struggle along with 7 others to bring down a villain that really has no business story or lore-wise being that powerful if you want to, but I don't. You have the entirety of the remainder of the game to do that.
But DA is dedicated to making our Incarnate characters actually feel like demigods. When a team of demigods get together, it should be a curbstomp.
Working as intended.

Another potential stealth fix >> I think they fixed the lag warehouses! Like, all of them! My graphics card isn't the best, in fact it kind of sucks badly, so whenever I hit a warehouse with a big room full of shelves or equipment I'd lag -really bad- whenever I faced it. Now? Runs fine! I can actually run through the huge shelf room and fight and not see every 3 seconds.
I think I am in love with I22 <3 -
That's only the 2 thread -> 1 thread reward. The reward merits and super insps can be taken repeatedly with no cool down at all.
-
the 20 hour cooldown on the rewards table is only for repeating the arcs in Ouro. The initial run through DA let's you snap up a component roll every time. It could be better obviously, but even 6 commons is 2 T1s at least.
-
lesse, in order. The slots require iXP in the millions range, so yeah you're making progress, just not enough to show up yet. Though to be fair you're making it on both slots, since DA stuff is worth both kinds of iXP. If you want a speedier way to earn iXP you can burn threads. It costs 1 mil inf per thread, but you'll gain something like 3% worth of iXP for a judgment/interface slot and 2% for Destiny/Lore. Just go to incarnate Abilities -> Convert. So doing the judgment/interface takes roughly 33 threads and lore/destiny take 50, but that's doing it -purely- on threads.
The reward table that includes components and incarnate merits is only for finishing the DA arcs. The threads/reward merits/super insps are currently the only rewards.
And no, the 'dailies' thing was incorrect. The only cool down on the repeatables atm is the 2 thread reward, which as you've seen becomes 1 thread for 20 hours. But you can run the repeatables as many times as you want and choose the 1 thread/reward merit/super insps every time you complete a mission. It's only the first time you pick the 2 thread reward that it triggers a subsequent 20 hour cool down, regardless of which mission you're running.
Just to note though, the devs have gone on record to say they're going to tweak this reward sometime now that it's gone live. We just don't know what they'll tweak it to or when. But for now yah, the 'main' reward is the 2 threads which you can pick once a day.
