Buddy Cop / Incarnate Rival question

Both of these new badges require that you save the named person once in the new DA before meeting them at the end of the Dream Doctor's story arc. My question is, from someone who hasn't run all the new DA content yet, how do you save them in DA before doing the Dream Doctor's mission(s)? Are there other missions to do where you save them? And if you don't save them before doing the Dream Doctor's arc, are you permanently never able to get these badges?

Snow Globe explains that fairly well in his Issue 22 badge list thread.

Both characters show up twice prior to the zone finale. It's not too hard to miss, you'll be going through the mission maps and see a ??? suddenly appear in your objective box. Just poke around and chances are good you'll find them as a hostage nearby, just beat up the spawn guarding them and voila.

And as far as I'm aware, you can redo the arcs in Ouroboros and get the badges if you miss them the first time around.

I found it more difficult to find Detective Hopp in the second to last mish than finding him beforehand. Not sure if he is always located so out of the way every time.

I've done the Buddy Cop badge twice, once Hopp was pretty hard to find in the second to last mission. The other time he was in a fairly convenient location.

It's worth noting, you only have to save him ONCE in the earlier arcs but you get TWO opportunities. If you save him in Heather's arc, which is easy as he is in direct line of sight, you can safely ignore him later on in the twisting tunnels.

Same thing with Madame Bellerose. You only need to save her once in the earlier arcs and you'll be able to get the badge in the Doctor's arc.

Story arc info - Dream Doctor Part Six: The Life of David Hazen (Find David Hazen's Missing Journal) and either Heather Townsend's Part Three: Those Who Have Fought (Investigate the Tsoo) or Praetor Duncan's Part Two: The Ancient Guardians (Uncover information from the Circle of Thorn).
How to get - Save Madame Bellerose at least once in Dark Astoria in either Heather Townsend's arc or Praetor Duncan's arc before your final meeting in Dream Doctor's arc. In the first two arcs, she'll show up as an optional objective when you get near her with "???" displaying in the Nav Bar. In the final mission, she won't show up as an objective, but will be with a foe and will fight you until she stops to talk to you. If you miss her previously both times, she won't stop to talk to you and you will defeat her with no badge.
Completion text - You rescued Madame Bellerose from the forces of Dark Astoria. She eventually succumbed to Mot's will and attacked you, but came to her senses before it was too late. Did you choose to spare her life, or end it when she refused to pay you back?
