Drowning in Blood: [Meteoric] buff?

So I've noticed this buff in the Drowning in Blood trial. It's called Meteoric, and provides a damage buff that seems to vary in strength (I didn't have much chance to experiment with it, since the trial moves quickly). Anybody know what the deal is? What grants it or determines how much bonus it gives?

Pretty sure its granted from claiming the meteors in the trial. If you check the detail info it's just like a 3% damage buff.

I got a different amount each time I checked. Once was like 17%, the next 60-something.

Claiming which meteors? I mean, obviously there are meteors all over the place in the trial, but I didn't notice any objective for claiming them, or any way to do so.

There's 4 in the trial.

We're... still frankly not sure how the claiming mechanic works. I ran it a couple times and we tried to figure it out. We -think- you have to speak with one of the NPCs at the opening, then -before- you complete an areas objective you need to interact with the meteor. It'll just do a standard glowy thing then you'll see "Meteor (Name) claimed!"

Doing all 4 nets you the badge. And that would be my guess where the buff comes from.

nope, you have to claim meteors before completing the objective in that zone (cant interact with once objective is completed), and the DIB i was on we didnt get any meteor claiming messages and never interacted with meteor so that isnt the source

Oh so it's just a random part of the trial. kooky.

Well, there's something about multiplying by ZoneEvent in the buff effect there. I would guess that has to do with collecting the meteors?

From what I've experienced, it starts once you enter ground zero. I've had it start at like 36% damage buff, and then it's up 60% or 120% at the av(s) on my blaster. Also, whether I had 60% or 120% seemed to depend on the team size, with the 120% being on a small team...

Also, meteors collected didn't seem to have much effect on it, since on a no badge run, I think I still had a 120% boost while on a small team... so the current phase of the trial and possibly team size might play a role in the buff... I'll have to pay more attention to it next time I'm on one...

I did another run, and it was 120% during the last fight for me as well, with a 4-person team.

Sure we are. You have to talk to one of the NPC's at the beginning standing near the Commander. I just can't recall their names. I think the villain one is Spy Master Something Or Other.

Anyone on the team can talk to them. When we ran it, the leader wasn't familiar with it so I talked to the contact. Other people 'collected' the meteors. They work like a normal glowie. When you get your mouse pointer close, it turns into a blue hand symbol.
