Sorry OP, maybe you should be an actual parent and explain to your kids what is going on and that it is just a game, instead of expecting the Devs to do your parenting for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. Though the kids will most likely wonder what Daddy is so freaked out about, like the example upthread of the woman explaining what was "bad" about Ranma. -

It's been a while since we had one of these copyright violation/generic bat/narc threads. We need to do this more often since there seemed to be a lot of pent up drama being unleashed here.
[/ QUOTE ]
Is it just me or does all the drama seem to be coming from a few people spouting the "Mind your own business!" argument.
[/ QUOTE ]
Think they have trademarked characters they want to keep?
[/ QUOTE ]
I kinda doubt it, though you could be right.
Intellectual Property is just such a difficult subject to wrap one's mind around, especially in this day of Napster, and YouTube, and file sharing all over the place. I think that there are some people who genuinely don't see a problem with using someone else's creative ideas and can't truly see the harm that happens - no one ends up bleeding, right?
They would be wrong, of course, theft of IP is still theft but they can't understand why that is so. A good bit of the "I stay out of it because no one s getting hurt" stems from that basic position. Generally speaking, those people don't know anyone who makes a living creating IP (authors, artists, programmers, etc.) so they don't know the frustration of creating something only to see it stolen.
Others just plain don't care. -
Not all TF givers have "named" IO sets, BTW.
There isn't one for Sister Psyche or Citadel or Moonfire or Ernesto Hess or Katie Hannon or probably someone else I have forgotten. -
<QR>
I don't really have a problem with a badge for teaming - probably working much like the badge for mentoring now works.
What I have a problem with in this thread is OP's conditions and rules and regulations around the badge, making it overly complicated and even penalizing people who don't want to continue on a team they aren't enjoying.
OP seems to have a perception that somehow people who quit teams he is on are persecuting him just to be mean, rather than choosing to do something else with their time.
Simple teaming badge - sure, may as well.
Complicated badge with conditions ("must stay with team until mission complete in order to get credit for teaming" - the simplest condition I saw mentioned, etc.) - no thanks. -

It's not crossdressing. Female costume options are not being ported to males, nor vice versa.
IBTD.
[/ QUOTE ]
But it is cross dressing. When ppl do drag they do there clothes and makeup to match. most men that cross dress actually look like females. They dont look like hairy men in a women's dress. Take the muary show, on numerous times they have brought ppl on the show that do drag and most the ppl in the audaince cant tell if they are really a male or female. Same thing you have here.
[/ QUOTE ]
You sound like maybe, you have some issues to work through about your feelings towards transgender stuff, that is perhaps best not explored on a public board.
[/ QUOTE ]
personally i have no 'feeling' i need to work out about transgenders as you put it but i dont think cross dressing is appropriate for a game that my children or any1s child might and do play. Like i said. whats wrong with making it so if you do change from a male to female or visa versa it applies to all character slots not just one. Thous saying its acceptable to cross dress to young teens.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, yes, you do have issues with it or you would not have felt it something that your teen-aged child could be somehow hurt by seeing happen in a game.
I think you are selling today's youth short to think that they couldn't see the diffference between a pretendy, make-believe game where superheroes can transform their entire bodies into different forms and what happens on the Maury Povich Show (BTW, using a "reality" show like Maury's which sensationalizes sexual issues isn't exactly the best support you could bring here. HINT - They deliberately go out to look for people willing to say those crazy things on TV - they do not reflect RL for 99% of the people out there, even those watching that drivel.)
And your idea of making so that *ALL* slots would therefore change "gender" then makes the concept of a female character who wears powered armor (using the Huge "gender") impossible to do. -

I think its the love of your creation that gets me through the first 20 levels.
[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely. If I like my character I enjoy any level.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
Actually, I generally start lots of characters then lose interest in some of them when they hit the mid 20s (like my tankers, usually - I really do want to like them better, but I just can't get into that mindset). I'm kinda proud of myself that I now have 3 characters in the 40s and 6-8 in the 30s - that was a little bit difficult for me because I like "levelling" and the levels are so much slower on those poor girls. -
My favorite name
Pam Demonium - Sonic/Energy Blaster
But pretty close to that is
Scorching Wrath - fire/thermal corruptor -

so, I lose prestige (I being the VH that I own) unless I team with people from my VG and not people who are not in my VG, unless that group is killing enough monsters to make up for the loss.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, YOU don't understand (hell, why are you arguing when you're the one that came in here asking how it worked?). The bolded part is complete non-sense, based on you completely misunderstanding what people wrote before to explain how it works. You're not 'penalized' less by having VG mates on the team. Your contribution to the SG/VG remains exactly the same whether everyone on the team is in your group, or none are. There's also no magical prestige added to the SG/VG on its own.
Whether you're teamed with the people from your VG, or teamed with random strangers, it makes no difference to the prestige earned by your group long as everyone that would have been earning prestige still is. Whether 8 of you are on one team, or spread over 8 teams, there's no difference to the earned prestige earned. Understanding yet?
[/ QUOTE ]
"but when I team with people in my super group I don't lose that prestige, it just goes to another member. "
I lose prestige because its not going to me, its split over people that are not in my VG.
So... yeah... and im sorry that you dont get what im saying, and you just keep coming back and trying to say the same thing over and over, thinking that im somehow talking about an unknown bonus... when im not.
My point has, and always will be, that if i team with other people, im losing prestige to them. and if i team with people in my VG im losing it, but its going to my VG either way.
And you have to remember, i never said there was some bonus to having the people in my VG in my party, i just am talking about if they are in partys say.. not doing as good as mine.
like this....
say im in a party of 8.
4 VG members 4 non.
overall in this party we are making half of the prestige (say if we are all the same level)
but... say
im in a party of 8, and all 8 are VG members.
im making the whole amount of prestige.
and this being partly my contribution because im helping the team. i was never talking about the overall contribution to the VG and i was just talking about the best way for me to contribute. (not 8 people on 8 teams......)
and really that's all i have meant this whole time, but since everyone was more worried about the color of my text, and i had alot going on, i never got the chance to really explain it.
do you understand yet?
And who likes this color better then red?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm also not going to bother.
Why the fascination with text color? it's like someone just discovered how to do something on the forums and can't resist using it at every opportunity - especially since it takes extra tags to make it a color other than white.
Dunno what was said (OK, actually when I quoted it it appeared as black on white in my text edit box) but now don't even care enough to try to alter my reading habits to understand it - too much effort. -
[ QUOTE ]
I just double checked it on another computer and it worked... do you get an error message or something?
[/ QUOTE ]
Dunno.
It works for me now as well.
It was giving me a "page not loaded" message, both here and in the other thread where you posted it.
Looks nice! -

ProTip: Start in Galaxy City, and you'll never have to worry about that mission.
Bonus: Back Alley Brawler > Ms. Liberty.

I always felt like I was out of place when I started in Galaxy, and don't you get sent to city hall anyways, I honestly do not remember
[/ QUOTE ]
Your beginning 5 origin contacts are downstairs in the Freedom Corps building. You don't get sent to City hall In Atlas Park.
Galaxy City is always quieter and seems smaller when it comes to running all over the zone at level 3. -

As far as I'm concerned, the only must haves are a good tank and a decent healer (and perhaps 1 controller)
[/ QUOTE ]
Not so much. We did a Numina's "Inconceivable" TF last Saturday with 4 blasters, 3 defenders and a /regen scrapper who "tanked" for the team. Zero controllers (although the defenders included two cold, so they were kinda controllerish). The only "healing" was Transfusion from a Kin/Rad defender.
We finished the TF in well under 3 hours, taking our time and chatting all the way through it.
I second the multiple voices who are saying all you need are reasonably good players, although I do think you need more than 8 "warm bodies". -
My impression is that the SG healing badge is really hard to get with only one or two empaths or thermals going for it, although I generally try to play them during Rikti & Zombie invasions to get maximum number of heals simultaneously.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Auto-Doc_Plans_Badge
For the only SG I started myself with the badge - I had someone on my server tempararily join the SG while working on his damage taken (? I think) badge. He healed himself as he took damage IIRC, which counted, and got me the badge in about a week's worth of dedicated work on his part. You might be able to find someone in the Badging forum or on your server doing the same thing.
As far as adding workshop space to hold Enhancement storage - you can stack the tables on top of each other. I have 7 Tech Enhancement Tables stacked in a space of 1X2 (half of a workshop, the other half is the corridor) all still accessible and functioning.
BTW, since you do level up lowbie alts - I also have an Enhancement Bin where I dump high level SOs (since I use only IOS above 35-40). Then the lowbie alts can pull those out to sell them from time to time for a quick cash infusion.
I put Inspiration Storage in my medical room for quick pickups upon rezzing there.
Unfortunately Salvage Storage is big & ugly and harder to conceal and work into a good design. -

Y'know, I've got a character I created probably a good four years ago who is STILL in that mission and STILL at level 2 because I couldn't find it and just got fed up. Maybe it's a glitch. Or maybe I'm just that stupid...

and, of course, Dead.
I probably don't have enough posts to count in the PKverse (although I did just get slammed for high post count snootiness yesterday, I'm so proud). -
Well, these can come in handy
Ouro Crystal (Pillar of Ice & Fire)
Inspiration Bins - for collecting Gifts during the Holiday Event and also to stockpile large Insps to be picked up while on TFs
More Enhancement Bins - especially if you are going to level more alts in the SG, makes it easier to pass down IOs
Salvage Bins - for collecting Rare Salvges (if cash flow is a problem, probably not, but then again you might be levelling new alts) and for collecting Costume Salvages (nice CC prizes for lowbies, very convenient for levelling new alts as well)
If you can get the SG Healing Badge, a Robo-Doc or Tree of Wonders can be handy for buying Blues & Greens and for selling Recipes (when you rez in base, just stop by on the way back out)
That's the functional items I can think of off the top my head, since it seems unlikely you will ever be base raiding in a personal SG - so you don't Defensive Items per se except as decorative things, which you ruled out.
Some of the things I listed are handier if you would be levelling up more alts, of course - it's what I do with my personal SGs. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's not even stacking - just overlapping them. Place one, then place a second so it overlaps. No special tricks or techniques needed.
Unless they were placed at different HEIGHTS. Then stacking comes into play.
[/ QUOTE ]
I refer to it as "smooshing".
OP - you can overlap nigh near every single thing you can put in your base. Go check the Thread stickied at the top here to see what Cool Objects people have made by "smooshing". -
Ultimus- did you go read the Global Message of the Day last week that I suggested (and copied into your last thread on this topic)?
You aren't the only one with this problem - so much so that they posted it so that everyone could read it when logging in.
There's probably a line in front of you. -
Turn your sound way up.
There is a glowing, humming box hidden behind something or on top of something in that warehouse - probably in the front corner of that first big room behind the locked door with all the big crates.
It moves around or otherwise I could tell you more exactly where to look. -

I don't believe so, but, then again, the OP hasn't posted in this thread to actually let us know who won.
[/ QUOTE ]
Um I think its clear that the OP himself won.
He got you suckers to make him a build for free!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, to be fair - I don't think the going rate for pontificating on builds was much above "zero" anyway. -
Here's the FAQ they wrote about the topic
Vet Rewards FAQ
Edit to add: Umm, since I continue to get Vet Reward time as long as I pay for my account - the only way this would stop "vet account sales" would be if every single veteran cancelled his/her account - which seems extremely remote.
I just think your idea of buying separate powers a la the Black Wand is counter to their announce intent and purpose.
