New TF's with "special rewards"
Eden Trial has Titan-Os
Sewer Trial has Hydra-Os
Not that either are taken much these days, and my first comment would be to 'fix' those to be more 'worthwhile' (such as not being outlevelled) before adding more special rewards.
Others already in the game:
Katie Hannon awards the 'Witch Hat' (from the 1st mission) and Amys Ward on completion
Hess gives a unique unlockable emote (dice7)
Various others give temp powers as part of their story progress (Moonfire, Temple of the Waters)
@Catwhoorg "Rule of Three - Finale" Arc# 1984
@Mr Falkland Islands"A Nation Goes Rogue" Arc# 2369 "Toasters and Pop Tarts" Arc#116617
Since purples are meant to be ultra rare they will never be available in such a way.
Additional choices may be possible, but I can assure you purple IOs will not be among them. That is totally reaching.
I can see possible Costume Rewards and Temp Powers though, such as Pets, as long as they make sense with the story of the TF/SF. You can't just award a Temp Power Shivan for something that has nothing to with Shivans for example.
The thing with merits is, they are a reward that gives you a choice. You can choose to spend them on whatever you want. You just can't use them to get purples.
Only when they fix and re-add some of the others back in.
No sense adding new stuff until then, IMO. Some parity across sides would also be nice re: TF/SFs, in both reward and method of acquisition (Heroes really need a Mission Computer-Only TF; Heck, I'd like to see more of those in general).
Just sayin'.
I hear ya guys was just throwing some ideas out there and another one came to mind, how about for completing named TF's such as the Positron Tf you also get a Positron Recipe at Random. They could also do this for Numinas TF, Ghost Widows Arc, and Scirocco Story arc. Probably others I can't think of right now.
It makes sense thematically.
PS. ya the purples are a stretch I just threw cause
Not all TF givers have "named" IO sets, BTW.
There isn't one for Sister Psyche or Citadel or Moonfire or Ernesto Hess or Katie Hannon or probably someone else I have forgotten.

Some new rewards for TF's, special rewards.

There are still, after almost four years, S/TFs that I haven't done yet, because I can't make my own teams and don't play during peak hours. So I'd very much prefer not having any S/TFs singled out for special rewards, because that would only lead to all of the other S/TFs being run even less often and thereby reducing my already slim chances of experiencing them.
No more "Fast Katies" or "Speedens", please. If I should be so blessed as to get 10 /tells asking me to join S/TF teams every night, I'd like them to be different ones, not the same one or two over and over and over and over and... *twitch*
I see where you guys are coming from it probably would make certain TF's be run over and over meh oh well. And Luminara I'm kinda sad you haven't run a lot of the TF's. Well I'm on both Freedom and Virtue you ever looking send a tell to my global @Lucky666 I am constantly running TF's everyday.

You won't really find many people running Speedens or KHTFs nowadays. The merit system made the Eden trial worthless except for the badge if you're not going to run it in 15 minutes, and, even then, you're still going to have a hard time finding a team because most people don't think that it's actually worth what little time it takes. The same applies for the KHTF, to a lesser degree.
The problem I have is that most people want to run Speed ITFs nowadays. I'd normally have no problem with this except that 90% of the teams I've been on are in no way actually set up to run the ITF in the appropriate speed manner. I've got no problem actually running a speed ITF if the team is actually built around that specifically (re: 2 kins, 4 shield toons, 2 melee, teams knows how to split into 2 groups effectively), but, if it's a bunch of random people that have been picked up that think it's the new KHTF and run it with about as much knowledge of the game, then it pretty much shaves five minutes off of the time for a normal run, with more deaths and fewer drops, which isn't really worth it imo.

I'd like the "Amys Ward" to be made renewable, not one time reward.

Know why people ran Eden before merits? (And after issue 1, when we got to 50 instead of 40...)
A cool, unique map and it's just *fun,* especially with hordes of crystal warriors attacking you. And it's *still* the reason some run it.
Oh, no, nobody wants to run it in 15 minutes? That's not a bad thing, to me. Eden's far from worthless if you're looking for, oh, *fun.* I know, crazy thing to expect from a game, huh.

Do you mean "before recipes rewards" there? Before merits but after recipe rewards were introduced people ran it like crazy because it was the fastest recipe reward in the game by a substantial margin.

Bill, did you not see the point where I said that everyone wanting to run speed ITFs was a problem? I love running all kinds of TFs and Trials, not just the time-to-reward efficient ones. I was one of the people that ran the Eden trial numerous times back in the day before recipe rewards were added for the exact reasons you give. I ran the Shadow Shard TFs back then too because they were fun, even after I'd already gotten the souvenirs (before the badges were introduced). I wasn't espousing Speed running or lamenting the loss of KHTF and Speeden runs. I was pointing out that "Fast Katies" and "Speedens" aren't really done by people any more, they've been replaced by "Speed ITFs".

Heh...I know what you mean. I'll form a ITF and some people will ask me, is it a speed ITF?
I'll reply, "Well, I don't want it to take forever, and I'd love to beat my best time of 1:24, but it'll go as fast as the team can."
I usually get them onto my teams anyways, even when they want to go for speed.

My general method is telling them to kill as we go, not skip any mobs, and take out the ambushes. Of course, even when I tell the group this, there is always the one person that doesn't care what the rest of the group wants and runs around trying to speed the TF and virtually guarantees that he's going to be lying around after biting it, waiting for the group to catch up, because s/he wanted to Speed the TF no matter what the group wants.

Looks like the tone of the post came out wrong, as I'm saying much the same thing - I enjoy the TFs in general, though I admit (and lobby on the grounds that) some of the old ones need reworking.
Yeah, I intentionally joined a "fast katie" at one point. Found it interesting, but not fun, and tended to only run with people who were going to *fight.* Of course, then they set it so you couldn't' just fail the Mary mission and go on, which I thought was an improvement.
Conversely, one of the most fun TFs I had was due to a post on these very forums, as "fast ITFs" were already forming so soon after introduction - someone introduced a "Smell the roses ITF." Everyone gets to go through the story, read what's there without a team screaming at them for standing still for 5 seconds, enjoy the dialog and such. I'd say, advertise and form a channel/group/friends list just of people who enjoy THAT side of gameplay, and run the TFs with them.
(While I'm at it, I tend to think the TF merits should take the AE ticket model - you get a minimum for stealthing/speeding through, and additional merits at some rate for defeating enemies. You want the biggest reward, wipe stuff out. Admittedly someone would find a way to abuse *that* as well, but it'd make the "speed-whatevers" slightly less common, perhaps. Or at least reward those of us who like taking our time.)
You already get rewarded for taking your time by getting more inf/prestige. But some of us like chaos the can happen in the itf and does on a speed run.
Sure someone might die along the way but as long as everyone knows the route its easy. I do pugs of these very often and speeding is fun for me because its more challenging, a lot of guys are chasing you and i use a blaster and hardly ever die.
People like me are the same people who fight all patron AV's at once because one is to easy. I would go slower but this game is to easy and to make it more challenging doing these things make it funner/harder.
Just my perspective and the other side of the coin.
Edit I don't find that much high end content so a lot have done it already and that's why it's speed run everyone knows it well.
I don't usually suggest anything cause most of everything I think up has been suggested already but I haven't seen this so here goes.
Some new rewards for TF's, special rewards. The the STF you can pick a Hamidon enhancement if you want. Or maybe a random purple if you want or a temp power(maybe summonable pets). The respec trial(terra volta tria) also lets you pick a respec instead of the merits if you choose.
So that's my suggestion it's all i have right now but would just like to see new rewards of some type for TF's other then merits. If not that even make it so new TF's maybe have such a selection.
Go ahead tell me what you think I can take it.
