A Teaming Badge
[ QUOTE ]
Whenever I come online,I notice that when I look to build a team,a huge majority dosent want to team because they are doing something else.I do understand that some people are genuinely busy as they are altering their supergroup base,or roleplaying,or in a supergroup interview.Other people however, just snub you,or ignore you all together. Here is what I propose..A Badge for Teaming.
The more you team, the closer you get to this badge, and if the badge alone isnt enough, perhaps we can connect this badge to something major and vital, such as..
1)Another Crey Weapon that is much stronger
2)Something that give you more HP
3)A stronger Military weapon.
4)Body armor of some kind
5)More Influence....
Those are just some ideas off the tope of my head. This Teaming Badge would work, just as long as we attach it to something important as though you were reading historical plaques and getting the Crey CBX-9 Pistol
The End : )

Interesting thought. I could see the mechanic kind of like the SK/LK badges. "You have spent X hours on a team." That sort of thing.

I had thought of that as well. I was thinking the clock would be a bit longer than the day job timers, but point taken.

So we make this badge make progress when you join one team, the bar progress of the badge moves a tiny bit.You dont gain more to the bar unless you join one team, and then a different team, and then another team after that. That would be the only way to get progress to the bar.
Patience would be a Virtue when going for this badge as it would be very difficult to obtain, yet not hard.

Or, a variant could be a "missions completed while on a team." This would work around the time issue. I'm sure theres a way around this as well but it's still an interesting thought.

and what about the people that solo because that is all they have time to do? as for tying in some kind of power from it, NO. all people would not be able to get this. not to mention the fact that day jobs already offer accolades for some of your ideas and for the others we already have regular accolades that fill these rolls that are attainable by a solo player.

Ok, you have a point and, considering I spend most of my time solo, I can relate but, there are quite a few badges already in existance that not everyone can get due to unwillingness/ inability (and I mean this as "not able to for whatever reason) to play that part of the game.
For example: Inventor Badges, Marketeering Badges, Healing Badges, MA badges, PvP badges (do these even exist?), SG badges....
I'm trying not to speak for the OP here but I believe the point was to find a way to reward those players that prefer to follow the story part of the game.
Eh, to each their own.

PvP badges (do these even exist?)
[/ QUOTE ]There's a whole category for them. Some even actually require you to defeat other players, too.

If the XP gain for teaming isnt enough to encourage people to team at all times, I doubt a badge will do the trick.
And I dont really believe people should be pushed into teaming by the devs if they dont want to. Some people just snub you? As in say "no thanks". That's perfectly fine if thats what they want to do.

All true. And I don't see this as "pushing players into teaming" any more than the other badge categories push people into any other part of the game.

we don't need a teamin badge. it is pointless. and the dev's wouldn't tie in an accolade power to a single badge. especially when we already have accolades that give these powers/bonuses. and all the badges are attainable by everyone. even the people who choose to solo. this badge would be unattainable by those that can only solo due to time constraints or whatever.
we already had a discussion similar to this when someone suggested a team leader badge. it is just not warranted. and as for your comment about following the story of the game, i solo and i do dev created content which must mean that i am following the story of the game. so moot point. again we do not need a badge like this. ever.
I think it's a great idea to make a teaming badge, just to clutter up the system more. It doesn't hurt anyone to have them or NOT to have them....
Make them 'Joined a Team' 'Formed a Team'
Then make two lines of badges
'Completed a Mission on a Team'
and
'Quit a Team Mid-mission'
That way you can show off how awesomely rock-solid you are about completing missions even if you -hate- the PUG members who scooped you up. It also shows who can't be trusted to stick with it for the whole Task Force.
Oh! Two more badge-lines.
Kicked from Team and Team Kicker.
Just to make it easier to avoid chronically bad players like the plague.

There was just a touch of sarcasm there? Maybe?

I felt it : (
We already have badges that can only be earned while teaming.
The Mentoring Badges. 6 of them.
The TF, Trial and Respec Badges. (A few TF's, but not all can be solo'ed by a hard-core character, but still require a team to start.)
The V-Day Mission Badge. (requires a cross-faction teammate)
A couple of Blue-Side Accolades requiring Teaming:
Task Force Commander.
Geas of the Kind Ones. (requires taking out 2 GMs and doing a TF)

Not entirely sure that was aimed at you SS. Just duck faster next time.

I am talking about teaming in general to get the badge
I dont speak of the Mentoring Badge,or the TF,Trial and Respec Badges,or the V-Day Mission,Badge.
I am talking about teaming.Period.

All people can't get all of the badges doing only what they want to as it is now... as such, your objection holds little weight.

I think some of the earlier objections were tied to the suggestion that there would be a reward for earning the badge.
As BBQ pointed out, there are already some badges that can only happen if you team and some of those can eventually lead to some kind of reward. With those, another "teaming" badge could be seen as a bit redundant.
Sadly, the topic of badges is a bit of a sore spot on the forums recently.
I still like the general idea. I'd vote for it.

Indeed.
My body needs water, but I want Mountain Dew.
Understanding the difference between need and want is important.
Sure, we don't need the badge, but what would it hurt? If it would encourage badge-seekers to form teams and alleviate some of the problems with folks finding teams, I'm all for it. But it would have to be done in such a way as to prevent the AFK badge farming, as has been pointed out.
Besides, the experience of one, or even a few players, is not completely representative of the experience of the whole. Scrappers find it far easier to complete the game content than, say, defenders. For many defender builds, a team is essential. So I find that argument lacking, or weak at best.
