  1. I love it! I don't care about clean options personally, I think the game overall has felt too clean since Praetoria was added. Also I like the nail mohawk, it'll probably be the first mohawk I actually use. You're guaranteed to get my money with this pack. Now we just need to get someone standing next to Dink's desk asking; "Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet?" and so on in that fashion.

As far as I'm concerned, villains need at least one more extra zone, and one that's not property of Arachnos and doesn't have Arachnos soldiers patrolling the streets or the black Combine architecture. They also need a more major storyline told about villains in villain lands that isn't just a retread of a hero storyline with a few lines changed.

If I were in charge of the story, though, I'd kick Arachnos out of all existing zones but Mercy Island and Grandville, and leave the rest of the islands in the hands of their local governors. If need be, have that happen as some kind of rebellion. Port Oaks goes to Emil Marcone, with Guido Verandi serving as rival, and the Arachnos buildings swap over to Marcone banners. Cap Au Diablo is left with Doc Aeon, with Leon Brass swapping uniform and remaining to work for the good doctor since Arachnos want his head for his failure. Sharkhead goes to Kirk Cage, with Arachnos banners being replaced with Cage Consortium emblems and Cage Consortium Guards getting a technological upgrade as a reskin of the PPD, with spec-ops, soldiers, ghosts and so forth. Maybe as a special faction of Cage Spec-Ops to replace Arachnos troops in the zone. Nerva Archipelago goes to "the people," with Crey Industries contracted as a private security force in exchange for permission to hold land facilities. Longbow's fort is still contested, but their forces' presence is tolerated. St. Martial Island goes to Johnny Sonata, with the Family replacing Arachnos spawns, now equipped with Arachnos Wolf Spider gear as new critters.

All of the Arachnos black Impervium Combine buildings are left behind since there's no point in tearing them down, but they're now manned by other factions. Missions from Arachnos agents in zones that are no longer under Arachnos control are ret-conned to be missions from agents of the local government. References to the Arbiters may be a bit tough, specifically Leo Vargass referring to Arbiter Leery, but it's not undoable. Either that, or these agents are move to secret or out-of-the-way locations such as Primeva.

That ought to make City of Villains that much less monochrome and boring.
That would be very cool. It will also never happen unfortunately.

You may not like the TF, but it IS new. It's not like they just took the Sister Psyche TF and did the copy-paste thing to make Penny in charge. Also it means that a level 20 Hero now has 7 task forces available to them* while a level 20 Villain has 3.

*Yeah, I know people don't regularly run the TFs that were moved to ouro, but the point is that they're there and some people do run them.

  5. I have never skipped taunt on my brutes, it's just too useful. Solo it helps me snag runners or pull the ranged enemies closer. On a team it helps me soak up aggro to build more fury. Oh, and I guess it helps my teammates live longer, whatever.
  6. We had a full team for the Tarikoss this week and we showed the big demon who's boss around here!

Next up on the List is the Silver Mantis Strike Force, level 20+, and it awards the Air Pirate Badge. So if you want to fight sky raiders, sky raiders, and more sky raiders meet up in Sharkhead next Sunday, July 29th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

That's pretty much the definition of depth - a person who is more than he first appears. Giving these guys more to their faction and more to their individual stories than JUST a Greek myth name would be a good first step.
Well, we did get David "Odysseus" Hill in the Mortimer Kal Strike Force. That strike force actually gave the warriors a little more depth, at least for me.

  9. The Tin Mage run was a success, we got all the badges except for Midnight Dodger. I'm just glad we didn't have to use fillers to start like the Apex last week.

That wraps up another round of Strike Force Sundays. This upcoming Sunday we'll be starting back at the top of the List with the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force. So if you want to fight a huge fiery demon (especially if you have a new water blast character) then meet up in Cap next Sunday, July 22nd at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!
  10. Yes, it only does KD so it's nothing to worry about. However if the rain power already has a chance to KD, like Sleet or Freezing Rain, and the KD proc and the power's KD chance happen to hit the same enemy at the same time it may stack enough to do KB. However that shouldn't happen very often at all.
  11. My one lore question: Who was the maniac that designed the interiors of all the office buildings in Paragon City? Was he some sort of artistic building designer who idolized M.C. Escher? And why was his work so popular that he was hired for virtually every building in the city?
  12. As a side note, I saw in the video that there will be 3 tabs for power customization, primary/secondary, pools, and incarnate. I just have to say I'm sooooo glad they didn't just try to shoehorn all the pools onto the same screen as everything else.

    Hmm, good points.

I'm curious where you got that number. The last official breakdown I saw it was 40% redside and 60% blueside, but that was a while ago. Is there some newer info that I missed?

That sound exactly like what the marketing people would want to know about, right?
  17. If you do wait for the power pool changes you could make a dark melee/super reflexes character and take the attacks from the fighting pool. Dark melee has some very vampire-like powers and combined with fighting pool attacks and maybe jump kick would fit the martial artist concept too.

I didn't register on the forums till sometime after issue 7. I don't suppose you have these screenshots saved somewhere? I know they'd probably have nothing to do with the upcoming Battalion stuff, I'm just curious to see them since I didn't even know the Battalion was mentioned before the Rikti War Zone was revamped/added.

Kinda sounds like feedback to me.

That was about 100 years ago, maybe back then the Battalion weren't the Well-devouring powerhouses they're being built up to now? For all we know the Rikti-universe Battalion are different from the Primal-universe Battalion and they never recovered from being defeated by the Rikti.
  21. This makes me glad I play on Protector, I've never seen any kind of RP going on in pocket D there.
  22. The extreme Mender Silos SF was a load of fun. Unfortunately we couldn't get enough people to start the Apex so we had to have people fill. We ended up going with 5 and just couldn't keep up with Battle Maiden's regen in the final fight. I made sure to get a screenshot of everyone looking sad.

Next up on the List is the Tin Mage Strike Force. We'll be making a casual attempt at all the badges, so if we're lucky we'll get the master badge. If you want to have a robot tell you to go beat up other robots, meet up in the Rikti War Zone on Sunday, July 15th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

Actually they've changed it so you need to re-tweet their tweet to get the code, so you do indeed need a Twitter account.

Repulsion Bomb had had its KB mag lowered into knockdown range some six months earlier. I suspect that many of the vocal proponents of KB are like this poster; they simply like taking contrarian stances.
Or he had it slotted for KB.

I think my problem with KB is that it's so easy to use it the "wrong" way. In the hands of a newer player it tends to cause more trouble than it solves. I can't tell you how often I've seen a Inv/SS tanker run in and handclap-scatter a mob, on every mob. Over and over. For an entire task force. I rarely even mention the problem in situations like this, hoping that he'll get tired of chasing the scattered enemies and realize that there's better ways to try and use that skill.
