Keep in mind that Enriche is a bottled drink. Like bottled water, it could be drawn from one place and exported all over the world. It's also likely they have warehouses full of the stuff, so a silly little terrorist bombing won't have much of an effect on Enriche distribution.
The water treatment plant that would be keeping any potential Hamidon Spores or Will of the Earth out the drinking water, on the other hand... that could be more of a problem. -
Might be a long one here. Being a thread for things we're grateful for, I think I'll talk about this here. I'll try to make it relevant to CoH near the end. It's not something I usually bring up since I'm not one to try to garner attention, but since the whole thing is almost over I might as well get it off my chest. But just to make it clear, I'm not looking for any sympathy or special attention.
Over the last five or so years, I've had to deal with Trigeminal Neuralgia. The pain often being enough that I'd be unwilling to speak for weeks or months on end, since that was one of the sure ways for me to set it off... and it's hard to hold a conversation when you're constantly stopping mid-sentence due to blinding pain. Eating was always a problem too, though obviously that was something I had to do, so I suffered through it. For roughly the first three years or so of this I was improperly diagnosed too... partially because it's somewhat unusual for someone as young as me to have Trigeminal Neuralgia, and partially because I'm not enough of a drama queen to properly explain the level of pain I was going through.
For the last two years I've been on medication, and it's made things a lot better, though still not perfect... and I still don't talk much. Habits are hard to break, and the fact that it does still flare up on occasion despite the pills makes me reluctant to try. But, having to take pills every day, and knowing that if I miss even one I'll suffer for it majorly is a bit tiresome. And they are getting less and less effective... so, a little while back, I finally decided to pursue surgery as a solution.
Things have been going pretty well on that front. Next week I'll be going down to Toronto for my pre-admin clinic and an additional MRI that they'll use during the surgery. The week after that, I'll be heading back and so that they can crack my head open and see what they can find.
The one downside of this is that I'll probably miss the week where the WST is one of my favorite TFs.
Summing things up:- I'm very glad this whole ordeal is almost over, and each week ended means another week closer to getting past this whole thing.
- I'm very grateful to CoH as well, since it's given me something to do and be a part of at the times when I needed it the most.
- I'm thankful for the community being one of the best ones I've encountered, with some of the friendliest people I know.
- And I'm very thankful for the devs who continue to update the game and make it even better, and constantly give me new things to do.
Okay, pity time over. Continue on and ignore this post. No "oh so sorry you've gone through that" replies. Really. I hate them. - I'm very glad this whole ordeal is almost over, and each week ended means another week closer to getting past this whole thing.

1201 right now. Lot of work to get the rest of them... but that's never stopped me before!

Quote:This is VERY similar to what happened to the team I was on, only with the LRSF. Suffice to say we were very disappointed... though most of us decided to redo it anyway, and got our Rares. At the end of my STF this morning, the entire team mapserved just after completion. When we logged back in, everyone had been rolled back to a few minutes earlier, with no rewards at all for the TF.
I hadn't put the two together, but just before we mapserved, the team leader made and slotted his Rare Alpha. This may be another instance of the same bug.
The run after that, with a bunch of us having rares, was a nightmare. Constant map crashes on the first mission alone. We decided to unslot our Rares, and so far it's been smooth sailing. -
Quote:The Very Rare crafting section has a scroll bar, and a whole ton of recipes for the various different combos. The combos I'm seeing for Cardiac Core Paragon are:I compiled all the current incarnate information here:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=251208
Also this is an excerpt, as it qualifies as feedback related to this patch:
I have a comment/question/gripe here, and it pertains to the very rare levels. Each one lists needing two rare powers to be made. However, every single one lists both the partial rare versions as requirements. The two conclusions I can draw from this mean either that it's merely a text bug/limitation and any two rares will do, or in fact the total versions of rares are literally useless to the advancement up the tree. The in-game tree even seems to indicate that the second theory is true.
If this is in fact intended, this means that anyone who creates a [Cardiac Total Core Revamp] cannot use it to make a very rare. This means the total trees are dead-ends and it should be noted ASAP for players to avoid them at all costs, unless they for some reason have no intention of going to very rare. Furthermore, if this is the case and it's intended, it should be immediately reconsidered, because it's an absolutely horrible idea. Especially for unsuspecting players who go this route and waste the time and effort.
Partial Core Revamp + Partial Radial Revamp
Total Radial Revamp + Partial Radial Revamp
Total Radial Revamp + Partial Core Revamp
Total Core Revamp + Total Radial Revamp
Total Core Revamp + Partial Radial Revamp
Total Core Revamp + Partial Core Revamp
The other component requirements are all the same.
Still kinda numb in the head from playing too long on live, but unless I'm missing something, the only restriction is that you can't use the same two rares to make a very rare. Other than that, any two different rares will work. -
Quote:I think the WSTs will probably be the same TFs we're currently doing for components, or otherwise TFs where there can be a rough equivalent for each side (Such as doing the 15-20 TF/SF on either side, ie the Synapse TF or Virgil Tarikoss SF). I don't imagine they'd do a TF or SF without a rough equivalent on the other side, since it would be horribly unfair to the villains or heroes who would be left out for that week.If they cycle through all the TFs, then I think we will get all 4 Shadow Shard ones as WSTs eventually
Since there isn't an equivalent group of SFs to go with the 4 Shadow Shard TFs, I doubt we'll ever see them as WSTs. Unless the devs plan to make the Shadow Shard co-op... -
I've teamed with people who prefer voice chat, and even joined once or twice (though just so I could listen. I don't speak often for reasons I won't get into). But I've never encountered anyone who completely closes their chat tabs. That's just... bizarre. And I would guess exceedingly rare.
Just note the character so if you run into him again you'll know what to except, and move in. It's not a common enough occurrence to worry about, imo. -
The main draw of being in the middle is that you can team with anyone, no restrictions. Most useful when your friends aren't restricted to one side of the game. However, there isn't really a reward incentive to choose the middle ground, just a Quality of Life one.
Here's what's kinda funny... originally in testing, Hero and Villain merits didn't exist. So, there was no real reason to stay a pure alignment, other than the fact that the perma-temp power you go from it was a little better. And most people ignore those powers entirely anyway. But overall the plusses of being a Vigilante/Rogue outweighed the negatives. It was a matter of having nothing or having a cool QoL bonus. So people were afraid that EVERYONE who wasn't a hardcore RPer was going to stick to the middle path, and there would be virtually no pure heroes or villains. Because really, what would be the point?
Then came Hero/Villain Merits. The decision suddenly became one of having a better reward for playing, or being able to play with more friends. For many people, the rewards won out in that situation. -
Quote:That one actually has been in since City of Villains, used by the Primal version of Belladonna Vetrano (Ghost Widow). From my understanding, the hair actually is just a fancy cape. So, not really an indication that they're working on it, since it's been in the game since Issue 6.The equally requested long hair and while it's hard to tell in my screen shots it even flows and moves the capes. (Kind of hoping they'll tweak it a little better than that.)

The gun holsters thing is interesting, though. I hadn't noticed that. -
Quote:Plus, what little military the US does have left is busy occupying the Shadow Shard (for some reason. Was it ever really explained why?).Keep in mind that the Rikti WIPED OUT EVERY military on the ENTIRE earth during the invasion.
There are precious few references in the lore to the worlds military might in at the level 50 time period. (2009-2011) It could be that many of them are still recovering.
But yeah. I think that "Arachnos vs the US" would probably boil down to "Arachnos vs Paragon City" in the end, anyway. -
Quote:Well, of course there are some people who choose to ignore the lore and do whatever they want. But that doesn't mean the lore doesn't allow for it anyway... you just need to work it in a bit.Ah, but it isn't an 'anything-goes metaverse'. It has a lore, design of NPCs and world that is very modern age western super hero centric.
There is/was a deliberate effort to make this a 'super hero MMO', not a generic mash up of sci-fi and whatever the fly-by-Twilight fad of the month is.
It just gets treated as the latter because some players (and devs) don't really care for super heroes, don't bother to respect the genre and setting or simply have a very lax opinion of what a super hero is.
You can pretend The Simpsons exist in the CoH universe, but they don't just because you can pick a yellow skin tone, spiky hair and rolled "Bart the Blaster" on Infinity.
.
For instance, The Simpsons wouldn't exist in normal Primal Earth, and probably not in any other normal dimension. BUT a character from that could still fit. One of the villain side contacts, the TV, introduced the concept that the inside of the Television is it's own reality, and that can actually be invaded and manipulated. You can actually go inside this reality in some of the missions, too! So, we have established lore that, even if television stuff doesn't exist normally in normal reality, they DO exist in their own reality, inside the Television.
So, if I wanted to make a Simpsons character, I could weave a story about some experiment or hole in reality that allowed the character to cross over into the real world. And it would fit in perfectly with the game's established lore. ...Of course I wouldn't use The Simpsons, since that would get me generic'd in a heartbeat... but the example still stands.
If I want to make a character that was originally a television character and somehow crossed over into the real world, I can. The game allows for it.
So still, pretty much anything goes in this game... ...as long as you can come up with a good enough explanation for it, at least. -
He should give a souvenir. "The Beast Beneath the Mountain". If he's not giving it, then there's a bug.
Also, he shouldn't be triggering a zombie invasion. That should be triggered by handing in Halloween Salvage. If he is triggering that, again, it's probably a bug. -
Quote:Nah, that'd make too much sense.I'm going to go out on a limb and boldly state, with absolutely no factual basis, that this is the rare and very rare alpha levels that War Witch said were going to be released in the next few weeks.
I bet that everyone in Praetoria is going to start mutating into Devoured, because the Resistance decided that it was a good idea to knock out the water treatment facility... forgetting that the Will of the Earth can be spread through the water supply, as the Primal Devouring Earth attempted once. And of course the water treatment facility would be the only safeguard against that. Oops. -
All pretty good news... except the NCsoft Launcher thing. Ugn, unless you're completely revamping that thing, can we PLEASE still be able to use the standard launcher if we want to? I'd rather not have to bother with that thing.
-
Some of the blaster nukes are situational attacks for sure. That situation being "whenever you have a blue candy in your insp tray, or you're able to make one". And I've got to say, I love it the way it is. Sure, I may not use Inferno as much as my other attacks... but then again my other attacks don't make entire groups disappear in one shot either. So there's a good balance there.
-
The main difference is that Primal Hamidon can be beat down by regular heroes on a nightly schedule. Praetorian Hami needs something a bit more "godly" to handle.
Praetoria: Everythings better there. Even the society destroying eco-terrorist monsters. (Hey, I didn't say better for US...) -
Wow, actually got one! Was worried for a moment there since I was still getting all set up.
-
And I'm sure the Mission writers would happily fix all though bugs if they could. But unfortunately advanced programming knowledge and a deep understanding of the game's code isn't one of their job requirements.
-
True, I forgot about that. Still, D-Mac is a man who can tell the guys apart from the ladies, so maybe there are TWO secrets "Lady" Grey doesn't want us to know!
-
Quote:This was my initial reaction too. Although since the theory that "Mender Silos = Lord Nemesis" which spouted mainly from the anagram turned out to be 100% true, it wouldn't be too far out for the Devs to pull the same trick twice.. Since this guy could basically be the other important figure in the story line and all.I really doubt an anagram of Ramiel's name will have any meaning. Ramiel is the name of an archangel; I think that path of research would have more importance.
Personally though, my bets are on Lady Grey at this point. -
Quote:The best way to fix this is to diversify the teams a bit. So for the Tank team(s), split it up a bit so the teams have a few people going after the blues and yellows too. As long as you're teamed with someone who's attacking the mitos, you get a chance of drops too.How did the tanks do? Someone posted a thread that tanks seem to get hosed on the Hami raids (i.e. ZERO shard drops).
It'll mean changing how raid teams are usually organized, but for the last couple of raids I stuck to the overflow team, just because the mix of ATs gave me more shard drops! -
Really easy solution to this one. When you have Patrol XP, in addition to letting you level faster, it also gets consumed when you die instead of you getting debt. So if you have patrol XP, and you don't WANT patrol XP, just jump into a group of purple mobs a few times until you've died enough and run out of patrol XP.
Problem solved. The devs don't have to waste any time on this one, and you get to level at as slow a pace as you want. ...Well, it's still a LOT faster than it was when the game launched, but you can always just gets lot of debt all the time to even it out a bit... -
I've been having this problem too. One thing I tried today was going into the NVIDIA control panel and disabling Multi-GPU mode. Not sure if it's fixed it for sure, but so far I've been logged in several hours (running two instances) without a problem. But that could just be blind luck.
But still, Disabling Multi-GPU mode has worked for me so far. I'll post here if it turns out I'm wrong and it crashes again. But hopefully it won't. -
I think it's a perfect parody of comic mega-events. Really cool in premise and the buildup is awesome... but the resolution and return to the status quo (more or less) just feels rushed, forced, and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
I loved it. -
Looks pretty spiffy. Unfortunately, since I primarily use Badge Hunter to track my badges, I don't have much of a reason to get this. Looks neat, though.
