  1. ToF has a reasonable duration and with a couple of recharges should stack nicely. Its a great power for soft control and I wouldn't leave home without it.
  2. Hello All,

Recently deleted my Dark/Stone Brute because of a creeping sense of weediness pre-Granite (and face it, as a chronic altoholic am I really likely to lvl a brute to 36?). I decided to go Dark/Invul instead.

My question relates to Darks Acc Debuff. Does anyone have any figures in relation to the de-buff and does anyone slot debuff enhancers in their build?

I should imagine that for powers like ToF the debuff is reasonably good but I was also considering slotting debuffs in SP and Smite too (2x Acc 3x Dam 1xDebuff, assuming I have Stamina and Hasten). Thoughts and observations would be much appreciated.
  3. I think your right Syn. Consume also drains the mobs I believe so a single End Mod in there should offer the added bonus of having endurance less mobs.

i never use any toggles on my fire/fire

Wot no Blazing Aura or Flame Shield!! Get them slotted 3x End Redux, 3x Resist (or damage) and you'll be fine.

As for Consume stick with it! You will come to love it I promise even with Stamina. Personal slotting preference would be 3x Recharge, 2x Acc 1x End Mod.
  5. Rock Eagle's Stone/Axe as was my now neglected Box. Which is still one of the best names going.
  6. Most Stone/* go TP as travel because you can't Sprint or Jump while running Rooted.

You will definately need Fitness (and I would recommend three slotting Health as well as Stamina).

Theres lots of good information about these type of questions on the Tank forum btw as well.
  7. How about Quick Recovery earlier? Once you get Spine Burst you'll be surprised how much of an end drain it is. I would get it immediately after SB.
  8. No recharge at all. Just end reds. If you want attack chain; Brawl, SF, Mallet, HM repeat I would go 4x End Redux in Mallet and HM while on TO's and 2x Acc.

If you were going to go: Brawl, SF, Brawl, SF and the occasional HM I would maybe stick a couple of damages in there but certainly no recharge redux.
  9. As a proud member of MoX the AoW-MoX base raid is still being discussed on our forums, so from the feedback there I would have to say AoW are the way to go.

However, such was the response to the raid that loads of us MoXers are now playing PvP orientated toons so we might get our own back on AoW next time!

Did you and Filth ever have your scrap in PvP? How did you get on?
  11. It takes an awfully long time to get to Granite! If your running Stone Skin, Rock Armour and Rooted your probably one of the weaker Brute sets out there in regards to absorbing an alpha strike.
  12. EE and all the +max hp powers are best used I find before a scrap to buff your hit points so that you are capable of withstanding the mobs alpha strikes. In this sense its great.

As a heal though your better offer popping some insp's because of the slow recharge time.

I was also considering going down the PSI Mastery epic pool as well to get a further hold.

In fact it will not. Acrobatics adds a Mag 1 Hold resistance to a player's base of 2, which gives you a Mag3 Hold resist of 3. This means you are protected from one application of a typical Mag3 single target Hold.

Which is one of the reasons I liked the idea of Subdue. Slotted 2x Acc 3x Dam 1x Recharge I should be able to spam it and stack immobs quite easily. The only thing that I was concerned about was the actual chance of a immob happening when a player has been hit. Does anyone know how frequently this occurs?

In a completely unscientific piece of observation I would say in PvE an Immob occurs about 50% of the time against even lvl mobs.

Thanks Gorgog. I envisage PvPing with my SG and while I would like to do a bit of damage I don't see it as being my main task.

Having said that how about slotting Subdue 2x Acc 2x Damage 1x Recharge 1x Immob? I find on even level mobs the immob is nearly as long as the recharge so it wouldn't take much to make it perma.

Thanks for the post - good to get some PSI feedback. I bet your a Tanks worse nightmare in the arena.

    Cheers DC and Filth.

I think the main reason I went with DM was (in no particular order), to get Fluffy which has got to be a big multiplier of your inherent potential, FS and PG. I really want to make these powers the cornerstone of the build to give me semi-controller like abilities.

With the build I am really trying to maximise on the more obscure damage types.

If anyone has any PSI experience I would really like to hear your feedback on the benefits of slotting for secondary affects (or not, as the case may be).

I noticed a couple of really nice potential PvP powers in the PSI set. Theres one that does minimal damage but Disorientates, which I believe is a toggle dropper?

Has anyone enhanced the immobs in Subdue for PvP as I discussed in the OP?

    PvP Build

    Hello All,

I'm sure this is a much posted on topic but the ol' SG is getting into PvP in a big way and crying out for PvP builds. Seeing as defenders have been much maligned recently I thought I would give one a go.

    I have rolled a Dark/PSI defender. Please could you answer some of the questions below and provide some ideas for this build;

    1. I really like Subdue from the PSI secondary. If slotted with Immobilisation enhancers (2x Acc 2x Dam 2x Immob) does this produce a reasonable immob in PvP.
    2. What is the magnitude for defender holds? Is this viable in PvP?
    3. What other powers in the PSI secondary should I be slotting for secondary effects?
    4. Going to get Fearsome Stare and Petrifying Gaze. Again, how effective are they in PvP?
    5. With everyone rushing out to get Perception enhancing powers are the Acc debuffs in the Dark M set still viable or do they get "burnt" through?

Cheers. Responses will be gratefully recieved.

    Best SG

Apparently MoX is a cross game community and the SG is just one branch of it.

BTW didn't intend to denegrate anyone elses SG - I'm sure there are loads of good ones out there.

    Best SG

Just wanted to give a big up to all the MoXers out there playing on Union and posting on the boards.

If you want to join a decent SG with lots of active members check out MoX.eu.com
  21. Agree with most of Syns points on FA. Healing Flames is a great power and will be be central to your build.

From a strictly PvP point of view though I still think the DA has the edge because of its range a resistences and better mez protection.

Stone I've found pre-Granite to be a pretty weak set with only Rock Armour and Stone Skin giving any S&L mitigation until your can pick up Granite. Its a shame that Rock Armour isn't a resist and not a defence - the lower base values for Brutes compared to Tanks really has a negative effect on Stoners.Definately a powerset for the paitent.

I have come to appreciate Invul in PvE but haven't levelled one up high enough to comment on PvP. I should imagine that I will suffer a lot of the same problems that my Tanks will, i.e. toggle dropping and getting sapped of my end.

It would be interesting getting some more EA comments on PvP. I really like the sound of being resistent to repel effects and would love to see the faces of those smug Storm controllers or defenders as you run through their Hurricane and KO Blow them. Smash.
  22. In my limited experience with Sonics the problem I have had is in building a good attack chain. Currently I have - Scream, Howl and Shout. Howl is quite a nice power with a decent range for a cone. Shout however is horrendous the range is soooo short. Between this and Screams recharge I am struggling to string an attack chain together let alone hope to stack multiple applications of the -Res debuff.

I am hoping that when I get EF (which is ace and I would reccomend getting asap) that I will see a considerable improvement.
  23. I think you're right Max. The Electric Melee set in particular could be immense. If Elec Armour is just a variation of EA though I think it will be a much smaller uptake.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
The likelyhood of the Assault powers actually being changed is zero - look at what happened to blaster secondaries (nothing) - even when Cryptic have admitted they were perhaps ill-considered.

The voice of reason. Sad but true. I hope no one is holding their breath on this one.
