Please Devs - TURN OFF POWERS automatically in Wentworths on the Hero side. Or MMs use the dismiss option -it's not that hard to reload them and its getting very boring now! After several years of CoV - we know what they look like...

    Nuff said.
When I visit the auction house I usually tether my pets to a tree or something outside. So they don't mess up the nice flooring with their loud, steely metal feet. Yesterday, I had one that kept coming to me and I kept sending it back out. I felt bad for the thing, it just wanted attention.

Although, I do think a "no pets beyond this point" field would be nice. Something that caused the Pet AI to want to get out of it (even if it had to override the Stay/GoTo command), but just past the perimeter of the field, instead of running halfway across the map.

    Field Crafter

I'm working on the Field Crafter accolade (to eliminate that run from the auction house to the nearest University/Base and back). After doing a bit of reading, I concluded that I would lose horrendous amounts of inf pursuing it, but that it would be worth it in the long haul.

I find that is not the case.

Don't get me wrong; yes it will be worth it. What is surprising me is that while crafting and selling almost only generic IOs (minus those that I use, of course), I am making a ridiculous profit overall. Now, to me a ridiculous profit is a couple million inf for a stack of Gen-IOs after considering the buy-in/crafting/listing/selling costs. I usually start with no recipes on hand and none of the needed salvage, but I am still pulling in a significant haul over a buying/selling cycle, so much so that I've only got about halfway through one tier (I started with the 25-30 ones for the +Salvage) and I've already doubled my starting holdings.

This can't be normal. Can it? I assume mostly this is due to the plummet in the prices of salvage after GR hit (and boy did I stock up on Luck Charms and others, planning to flip them after the price rebounded--but ended up using some of them for crafting) but even so, people are paying huge mark-ups for the stuff I'm selling, even though I'm listing much, much lower than the going rate (in most cases). I guess that's the magic of the double-blind market.

Anyway, can I expect this to continue throughout all (or even most of) the tiers, or did I happen upon the one profitable tier at the outset?

If it continues, then by the time I've acquired the Portable Workbench I'll have enough inf to start some serious marketeering. Oooh, the joy.

Edited to add: This is on a level 26 character, starting with only the 5M inf he brought with him from redside.
  4. I was on my way home from work. Do I have to start that over again? =(

I'd rather they fix procs and pseudo pets so we can put +Rech in there and get some real use out of the power in later levels.
    This. Now, please. Kthxbai.

Pretty much this, but without the spaces after the $$ dividers.

    I use:

    /macro Dis "e goaway$$petcom_all Dismiss"

Sticking text in there is pretty easy, if you want to say something, too.
  7. It is not a bug, per se. It is a "fix" to prevent a player from using certain <tags> that could adversely affect other players' game clients. It also broke pet emotes. Essentially, any instance of <> gets replaced by linecode for those special characters, except some typed manually. They display the same, but aren't recognized by the game as Tags and therefore are rendered harmless. Macros using pet emotes can only fire one emotes in a string (you used to be able to chain pet emotes in a single command), and there's some other limitations.

In addition to the above workaround, you can also include "beginchat" at the beginning of most binds to paste it into your chat bar then hit enter to activate it. It's an extra step, but you don't have to make bind files this way.

I do wish they would fix this broken feature, though. I miss being able to set up a few binds/macros and fire off a whole song and dance with choreography and everything. Robots doing YMCA are funny.
  8. I've dusted off my old Bots/Traps for GR. Fenric Steele (Freedom).

    Bots: Athos, Porthos, D'Artagnan
    Protectors: Castor, Pollux
Assault: I just got this one, so I'm still thinking.

I've got literature (bots), mythology/astronomy (prots), and now I'm stumped for the Assault. I was thinking of a name from Philosophy or the Arts.

    Meh. Any suggestions?
  9. Indeed, "mostly no." I was quite disappointed to hear this in regard to the Force Feedback +Recharge proc. The idea of getting near permadom with Hasten and one IO was fantastic, but as you say: alas, no.
  10. Forgive me if this has already been addressed, I didn't see a thread on this yet.

Does the +tohit in Power Siphon multiply like the +dam does? Is it supposed to? Mid's seems to say yes. Combat Attributes seems to say no. 7.5% seems comparatively small if that's all it gives.
  11. What exactly do you mean by "a second chain"? Do you mean a branching chain (like the chain travels down both sides of a spawn), a repeated chain (like one activation affects at least some enemies twice), or something else?

If you are referring to the basic jumping-between-foes not consistently occurring even when the target isn't defeated by the power, I'd say that's a bug and would agree that it needs to be fixed. I've never seen that happen, though, so I assume that is not what you mean.

At any rate, I'm pretty certain that the core mechanics of the game prevent a chain power from firing off a defeated foe. Something in the back of my mind remembers a similar discussion when Chain Induction was introduced. I could be wrong; it wouldn't be the first time.
  12. The thing is, JC is an AoE control power, not a single target one. And, due to its unique nature, increasing its damage would actually REDUCE its overall effectiveness as a control power AND a damage power. Even if you target a healthy-enough foe to survive the initial hit, it could easily jump to a target who is nearly defeated and kill it, stopping the chain. Then, suddenly you have however many foes remaining still on their feet because one died. It isn't like other AoEs that will attempt to affect each target regardless of a successful hit on the others. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Chance only seems to be to proc when you initially throw the power out there, I havnt seen it proc for me on any jumps yet at all, and I was running it for about levels so far.

Which makes it alright if you only have this as a knockdown power. but i'm /earth so theres better palces for me to put it.
This is what I was initially wondering: Whether or not it would proc correctly through the pseudo pet. Either way, this is the best place I could put it as an Elec/Elec until Thunder Strike.

Thanks, Jamie for reporting on this. I hope to have different results.

And I must point out one flaw in my original supposition: The FF proc bottoms out at level 21, so I still couldn't have this setup until at least my late teens, instead of when the power gets its first slots, 7. Still a neat idea, though.

I just wish Thunder Strike did knockdown instead of knockback.
  14. Confound it all...the transfer-to-test tool is currently borked. When it gets back up and running I'll test this, but I'm not willing to rob a character on live for this just yet. And, I'm waiting til the markets die down before I buy something so expensive. It's a good time for flipping, though XD.
  15. Thank you for pointing that out. I will test that tonight. Just need to update test and strip one of my characters for it. Will post with results.
  16. I knew it couldn't be that easy. I didn't know about the suppression time after it wears off. That's what, ten seconds of suppression? Curses, foiled again!
  17. Has someone tested this combination? I'm thinking the combination of a quick-recharging multi-target attack would do wonders for this proc and, since if it goes off JC's recharge shrinks to just under the proc's duration, it could theoretically be sustainable. At level 6.

The only problem I see is the pseudo-pet nature of the power. Will the proc activate in JC?
  18. Most AoE animations are scaled to the height of the target/caster, so the Dwarf mire probably looks bigger because the Dwarf character is generally taller than the human character.
  19. Just wanted to be the first to ask: If it goes unclaimed, can I haz it?

Edit: Seriously, though; if it goes unclaimed and you are already set on parting with it, I'd suggest giving away in game through a contest of some kind. My favorite way is to hold a hide-n-seek game in a lowbie zone. Otherwise, congrats on the big haul!

Nothing better than some lightly toasted Lionheart with a side of success. And maybe some barbecue sauce.

Seriously, it's hard NOT to make money with this market.

But, now I must run off to create a market-related SG for storage. And coalition it (is that a verb?) with my main SG. *Ebil laugh*
  21. I don't remember it happening before that massive maintenance downtime the other day. It's still happening today, too, on both my computers and on both my and my wife's accounts.

A friend of mine wasn't sure if he noticed it when I mentioned it to him. Of course, that was on his new character, so he might not be all that familiar with the rhythm of his attacks.
  22. No, nVidia. 7950GT, If I recall correctly. Single monitor. Might there be a setting which would affect animation speed?
  23. This is kind of weird, and I've only just noticed this in the last day or two, but every once in a while I notice that animations seem to be sped up. Incoming attacks, outgoing attacks, even just idle animations (shifting one's weight, etc.). Moving doesn't appear to be affected, but that's harder to tell. But I'm used to the rhythm of my attacks, and it's off.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known bug/problem/fix/whatever for this? I wouldn't even begin to know how to search for this. I've got a middle-of-the-road computer. I did recently upgrade my RAM if that would make a difference.

I was under the impression that WP's intended weaknesses were that, with such low Def/Res/Regen values it "couldn't handle alpha strikes" as well as other sets (though with the combined values it can easily survive the standard, sustained dps of most enemies) and it was defensively "underpowered" versus a single, hard foe compared to other sets, due to the nature of RttC. It also lacks end drain and -recovery protection, and I'm not sure how much other debuff protection it has.
  25. These are great. Let's get more!
