and sometimes you have to stop and think.

Life aint only dictated by the Benjamins.

See, i m in the music area... its kinda the same: the public get feeded with numbers, these aint real, even if the company says so.

And one would be a noob to think the big numbers makes the music better.yeah. I tent to think the way around.

Ok, bad numbers dont make good music, but big numbers dont make cool games even.(that does for any game)

And Fyi, after grindin' or farming, or TF'ing, or badging 47 lvl 50, playing an average 6 hrs a day for 48 months, I darn feel betrayed, that is for sure.
    By the marketeers.

Well, if i have to move along, i will.
I'm really not at all sure I understand any part of this post at all. It kinda seems like a Proustian stream of consciousness thing (harking back to French Lit in college).

But I think the part I highlighted might be some sort of backwards Zen koan?

Um... Perhaps we should close down the forum completely then? ..or stop pretending it's moderated?

I fail to see what good it did to move it to this section, except telling us we can write whatever the (younameit) we want and be totally ignored meaning any suggestion is pointless. Well, after the last debacle when I made a follow-up suggestion I won't ever make a suggestion again anyway.

To sum it all up: We all hate each other and we're not prepared to listen to anyone because we're right and everyone else is wrong even if they actually agree with us because.. (endless rant)

    ...oh, well! Whatever...
Well, that's not my perception of how useful S&I is at all. Several thngs brought up here and discussed - both pro and con - have been implemented in the game.

It looks like you are letting one or two bad experiences color your view of this forum a bit excessively.

There is also a good bit of comraderie on this forum, where we may argue with each other, but although snarky, rarely are we downright mean intentionally.

That being said, if the same suggestion has already been discussed in excrutiating detail and should have been found with a very simple search (merge the servers, vehicles, raise the level cap, etc.) some people react with snarky comments, some have cut'n'paste canned answers, some are impatient and frustrated that the same dead horse has been resurrected AGAIN. Those who have been in the NA S&I forum for years may at times find it hard to respond cheerfully to the bazillionth time an idea floats up.

I think both the EU and the NA forum posters are still adjusting to the merge. NA posters need to remember that EU posters may not have seen our point/counterpoint on some stock issues, but EU posters should remember that there may be many topics which are hot button issues tthat will attract vehement responses. Try to remember the response is to the idea, not to the poster personally.

Oh - and this forum is most certainly moderated....

But wouldn't you have to enter another password to "unlock"?

If so, how does that save any time from the current method?

I have lots of alts. Logging them into the game for Anniversary badges, for example, takes a bunch of time. But even so, this is something that I would put SO LOW on my list of things for the Devs to work on that it doesn't even appear on the list, sorry.
  4. You would be better off posting this in the tech forums, but my first guess is that you have a firewall issue - did you change operating systems from Windows XP to Vista, for example?

I doubt the issue is in CoH. It is more likely that either your OS or anti-virus needs to be opened to allow the updater, etc, to come thru (very non-techy statement, not a real tech person).
  5. I've never heard of anyone being able to do this AT ALL - Period.

The ability to move characters from one account to another sets up the ability to sell characters - which is never gonna happen. I seriously doubt you will be able to do this, even if the accounts are billed the same, etc.

And someone will undoubtedly try to make some sort of point that you aren't supposed to be sharing accounts anyway. Don't take it too seriously, many people start out with a character or two on somemone else's account to try it out - I know I lost some characters on my husband's account before I bit the bullet to get my own. I recreated them and moved on.

    I forgot to add -

Welcome to the forums! Sorry we couldn't help you with this one, but please come back again.
  6. My new favorite face is Face 20 (all my characters are female, so this is Female Face 20) and I am likely going to change all of the costume slots to this face on most of my girls.

I also like the Star Eye face detail or the Monocle, both used with the single eye Combat Aura.

I'm also with Zek, the Tribal belt is awesome, unless she's in armor, in which case it's the Enforcer belt or the Tactical with Ampules.

Lotsa Thigh High boots as well.

Using those same detective skills, I'm going to deduce that ReclusePhantom also is from the EU boards and was actually asking about the shenanigans. Sorry to poke you Kitsune Knight

I don't know all the details myself, ReclusesPhantom. I do know we don't talk about it - maybe because of the bad karma involved, maybe because we superstitiously fear talking about it will bring them back. I suggest you PM Forbin or Zekiran for details so they don't have to post them publically.
  8. My Corrupters usually have 2 builds. One is focussed on damage-dealing (i.e., blasting) while the other focuses on buff/debuff. I play either depending on mood and what a team is seeking.

My Dominators also tend to blast/deal damage as well, especially since I slot damage in many of the holds/immobs.

My Stalkers are pretty much pure damage-dealers, just in melee range.

    "Problem" solved.
  9. BTW - they may have made a couple of bone-headed mistakes in the past - but the Devs (and NCSoft) would not be so misguided as to release a new issue on a Friday, let alone on a Friday before a three-day holiday weekend like this weekend. They want staff on hand to deal with the ineveitable hiccups, not out at the end-of-summer BBQ.

This is the single most important thing to remember while soloing. It's no shame to run away and recharge before going back to finish them off.

Learn what Inspirations are likely to be needed and keep themin your tray as much as possible, stopping as needed to combine others to make more.

    Also from FourSpeed:

This is probably self-evident, but only Damage = XP. So, regardless of what
AT you play, put some slots and effort into its attack chain - you'll *always*
    need it.
Yep - one of the biggest frustrations is soloing some ATs is that the early levels can be slow because doing damage comes slower. For a first time thru the game solo, you may want to look at some of the higher damage ATs like Scrappers or Brutes. Blasters can be a thrill a minute (my personal fave). Offending Defenders or Corrputers who can debuff enemies can also solo well.

I typically solo with the occasional team. I have characters of all ATs (except Warshades and VEATs), so it can be done.

    "Meh."

I mean, part of it sounds like steam's achivements, and IMHO that's already cluttered with "So-and-so bought this game!" and other generally useless info.
The "sending things to FB & Twitter" was what I kinda got from the link. But as a recent addict of FB who regularly does not "publish" milestones & accomplishments from any of the FB games, I certainly wouldn't use Raptr and would actually be rather annoyed at anyone who kept sending me messages about getting to level 19 in CoH.

So color me unimpressed with the desperate need for it to be added.
  15. I didn't even know what Raptr was until I clicked your link.

Is it really that big a deal? I don't see much use for it myself.

Absolutely you can do two missions at one time - especially if one of them is the hunt mission. For example, say you get "Hunt Circle of Thorns" (without any limiting area where they need to be. Then you get "Hunt Circle of Thorns" in Perez Park (after being sent to the Perez Park Security Chief). The 10 defeats in Perez Park count for both missions and you will get missions complete for both missions.

Or alternatively, you get the first "Hunt Vazhilok", which does not specify an area. At the same time, you take a scanner mission against Vazhilok. The first 10 defeats in that scanner mission will get the mission complete for the hunt mission.

This can make the Hunt missions just a tiny bit more palatable.

I'm kinda ambivalent about your suggestion to allow travel powers at 5 or 6, since we can easily get a Raptor Pack doing 3 scanners and a Safeguard, usually no later than level 6 anyway. So to me, you *are* getting a travel power at 5 or 6 if you want one.

As far as allowing travel powers from character creation (not your idea, but a next "logical" step) - absolutely not. Running everywhere teaches you aggro range of enemy spawns - a vital skill for a squishy characer and good to know info for all characters.

Electric has similar issues early, but it gets a great ranged AoE early (ok, so does Rad, but Irradiate is so shiny), so it does not have to get into the baddies faces, although SC can encourage that behavior (I think I am hopelessly in love with PBAoEs). I have gotten good use out of SC in the early levels, but only when teamed. SC also used to drain spawns by itself, so the set was designed with massive mitigation early, and has never been compensated for losing that advantage. So, yeah, Electric has issues too.

Rad tells you at lvl 2 to run into the middle of the spawn, its where blasters belong! Its different for a defender who has a primary dedicated to mitigation. I truly believe Rad needs something, but since I will usually play with a tanker and a few defenders, I will be perfectly content if it is decided that Rad is more a teaming set, get your mitigation from teammates.

I am just gald I had decided to go with Hasten in my Rad/Fire build, that will alleviate the 4 and 8 second recharge issue eventually.
I think the part I highlighted captures what I was trying to say upthread. Irradiate becoming available at level 2 is just too soon for a soloing blaster who isn't going to blap. I would love to switch Irradiate and Electron Haze, so that the ranged cone effect comes in at level 2 (potentially) to aid in soloing a Rad Blaster.

And I probably won't be teaming with a tanker and a few defenders, so if I have an AoE at low levels, I prefer it to be something ranged. I can work around it, because I do know when to go into melee and when to just plain not use Irradiate, but newbie Blasters might not get that for at least a little bit of time - the learning curve for a Rad Blaster will be slightly different. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Given that Base Builders have been asking for some of those new objects like a stove and refrigerator and bed without restraints and actual TVs that aren't computer monitors - I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing those items added any time soon.

Heck, we used to have a very long list of items that already existed in-game but weren't available in the base editor that we can't get added, let alone making up new items!

Regarding the neighborhood aspect of your suggestion - does that mean only heroes under level 12 or so have homes in Kings Row and those over that level would need to move to a new neighborhood (Talos, then Founders Falls, then a glut of heroes moving into Peregrine Island) in order for them to have actual challenges defending their neighborhoods?

Player Housing would be nice, but I would really like to see some additional work done on Bases before adding another wrinkle into the system.

Those shadows makes very good effect but its not a real shape. I have character creation screen open right now. Yes there is some good faces but still I miss a good great beak nose
Wait - are you looking for a black superhero nose or a beak nose?

Not to be stereotypical, when I think black superhero, I don't think of a beak nose. To me, beak noses are more Mediterranean (i.e. "Roman").

I think you and Sam are looking for different things.

The only thing I want added to faces is the ability to change eye color. Body sliders for upper arms, etc., would be great as well.
  22. Scroll thru this forum and you will see that there were numerous problems with things obtained from the NCSoft store over the past few days. I'm betting your issue was another variation of this.

Sounds like they may have them fixed now - Hurray!
  23. The reason the "cool"costumes are only on NPCs (like Airlia and the Tsoo Sorcerors) is that there is only one model for that NPC and it's only one size. The costume is inherent in the NPC models for those.

And also - think about this - long robes (a la Wizards) would look downright stupid with Martial Arts Kicks and some of the lunging attacks in other powersets. And our Devs don't make costumes that look stupid, they want them to look nice. (And I appreciate that).

I know there are exceptions to this general rule, but they are just that - exceptions. Costumes need to look fairly good on any size character (allowing for the gender differences they have made) performing any attack or travel animation in-game.
