Got a costume design question

Hello there. I've only a couple months ago started playing this game for the first time, and the big thing that's hooked me, is the huge array of customization options when it comes to costumes and appearances. Many a time where I'd spend a couple hours just trying to get a new and stylish look for one of my characters. However, a couple things sadden me.

One, I haven't seen any options for giving one of my characters robes. Before this goes further, I don't count the Magic Booster, nor the Valkyrie costume set for this particular boggle. I would like something similar to what the Council of Thorns prance around in, minus the completely gigantic Jawa look for the head, but the robes mainly.

Second, I found a costume appearance on certain npcs, that I really want on my valkyrie style character(no, I don't like the skirt option for the Valkyrie costume set from the Mac option). It's the outfit that Sister Airlia is sporting. Here's the link:

Does this costume option exist for us, or is this something that will haunt and tease me for a long time, there, but out of my reach?

Unfortunately, that's one of the "cool" npc only costumes.

There's a few martial arts robes and skirts that you can fiddle with.

The reason the "cool"costumes are only on NPCs (like Airlia and the Tsoo Sorcerors) is that there is only one model for that NPC and it's only one size. The costume is inherent in the NPC models for those.

And also - think about this - long robes (a la Wizards) would look downright stupid with Martial Arts Kicks and some of the lunging attacks in other powersets. And our Devs don't make costumes that look stupid, they want them to look nice. (And I appreciate that).

I know there are exceptions to this general rule, but they are just that - exceptions. Costumes need to look fairly good on any size character (allowing for the gender differences they have made) performing any attack or travel animation in-game.

Re: CoT-style floor length Robes:
According to Sexy Jay, they look really really bad with some character animations

Re: Cimeroran oracle/Candy LeBeaux dresses:
The devs have a rule that players aren't supposed to have access to multiple cape systems on one costume. Those front/back loincloth style costumes are actually a pair of capes. The same goes for Ghost Widow's flowing hair.

(There are a few exceptions/bugs that allow players to get multiple capes on one costume)

This rule is in place as a stopgap for graphical lag.

You would feel differently if they introduced parrots and monkeys.

That's really too bad. I can accept that floor length robe/gowns would cause problems with the animations but a loincloth style thing would allow you to approximate the look "close enough" in many cases. I'm not qualified to debate the lag issue but it's still a shame that I can't make a (pantless) female in anything other than the Ally McBeal miniskirt.

Saddening to hear that w/ regards to the nix on loincloths/sarongs/longer dresses. Oh well. I suppose I can improvise w/ the roman skirt when I somehow find an ITF group.
