Your Hero's Apartment!

So, every hero lives somewhere, and Pargon City is full of tall buildings! My idea (part of a larger idea) is - can each of our heroes get a flat??

It would work like this - your apartment bldg would be on your map (you would select it - it would either be buyable or you'd automatically get it in either Atlas or Galaxy at the start; you could "move" later). You could go to your building entrance, and the clickable door would open, and a window would open saying "which residence do you want to go to?" and of course "Mine - apt 143" would be an option. Click on that, and you end up in your apartment, which you can decorate with stuff!

Yes, this is a QoL thing, but I would love this. And I also like that you can elect to have your Friends come over, and they could go to your bldg and select your flat, and you could hang out there.

Assuming the basic idea flies, it would need refinements, like - floorplans, affluence level, perks, etc.

Anybody else like this? have dieas for making the idea better?

Well, it's not a qol if it involves lots and lots of programming - which this would - but the idea's been brought up time and time again. It'd be fun but really a single-person sg base is *not* hard to make, and you can rp the rest.

Heck the other day I was playing with a guy on a trial (though he'd played before, and his bro deleted the account so no vet rewards for HIM) and we went into the Hollows. I was on my first 50, and it was hilarious becuase he was finishing up Flux's arc - and in character, ever since the Hollows opened, Retail Retali8r (my 50) has lived up in the 3rd floor apartment over where Flux *used* to stand. They moved him, she was disappointed. I flew around the windows a while, it was nostalgia

I hate that i have no clue about the programmign side, but it seems to me that a lot of SG base stuff could be used in an apt, and you'd just need new objects like a fridge and couch and tv etc. and it's sort of blah to have to march to a funny dark hole in the ground to get to your spot. and it'd be cool if you actually had to go to Flux's bldg to get "home." and if you have a home you now have a neighborhood, and wouldnt' it be cool if you got perks for activities you perform (ege fighting) while in your "beat?"

It does open up a whole new realm of content possibilities, new plot arcs, etc.

Retail Retali8r - great name

Given that Base Builders have been asking for some of those new objects like a stove and refrigerator and bed without restraints and actual TVs that aren't computer monitors - I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing those items added any time soon.

Heck, we used to have a very long list of items that already existed in-game but weren't available in the base editor that we can't get added, let alone making up new items!

Regarding the neighborhood aspect of your suggestion - does that mean only heroes under level 12 or so have homes in Kings Row and those over that level would need to move to a new neighborhood (Talos, then Founders Falls, then a glut of heroes moving into Peregrine Island) in order for them to have actual challenges defending their neighborhoods?

Player Housing would be nice, but I would really like to see some additional work done on Bases before adding another wrinkle into the system.

Actually, I was thinking that the neighborhood-based mishes would scale to your level. I want to be able to pick where i want my hero to live, regardless of the map's general level.

As for the Base Building priority.... hmm. I see your point In some ways I think apartments is more relevant because of the in-game mish possibilities, but then i've never been much into raiding (does that still happen?), so i am probably in the minority. But your post doesn't give me much hope for my idea being implemented :P too bad - I would love it!

Currently raiding is offline as the devs have turned off the pathing restrictions when I13 went live. The pathing restrictions prevented players from creating imassable obstacles that would hinder raids.

However turning off the pathing has allowed basebuilders to create some truly amazing bases.
