No, sorry - the choice is for the whole character, not just the build. it doesn't reset to allow a different choice.
  2. Welcome back.

But my experiences on INFINITY (idk why we are capitalizing, but I will follow your lead) do not match yours in the slightest. I wasn't having problems finding teams on INFINITY back in January, or in August, or now.
  3. I'm in - either team.

I'm probably bringing Eris Starchilde - lvl 22 Dark/Cold Defender or Southern Belle - lvl 18 Electric/MM Blaster.

I don't really think it'd be that hard to have sheathable weapons, to be honest. I mean World of Warcraft has them. When they're not drawn they're either on your side or back and when they are, those on your side or back vanish. It really doesn't seem like that daunting a mechanic. I'm sure the dev's could manage. - Full on scabbards on the other hand, yes. That may be a little tougher.. But I'm not asking for much, just a little.
Standard Code Rant applies. While you see this as something "not that hard" you really don't have any way to know that.

WoW does not use our engine, so a comparison of the two is pretty meaningless.

After seeing the vid of the graphics changes coming in GR, maybe there will be programming resources directed towards making scabbards & sheaths behave this way, but the ones currently in-game most certainly do not work as you describe from WoW.

As for how "serious" this game is, I guess that's in the eye of the beholder.

True although I have observed recently on these boards that there have been a few threads pop up decrying how "empty" Freedom is right now. It may be that there has been a population shift away from Freedom, at least to a limited extent - also anectodally, a lot of folks said they were tired of Freedom's AE Babies & Farm/PL chatter back a few months ago.

Virtue is coming up as most stressed more often than it use to do.

    For whatever that's worth.....

I haven't even seen anything recent posted on FB.

    Kindred spirits

I'm SCAdian, located in Columbus, OH.

I had the pleasant surprise a couple of years ago to see a SG (I think I ran across a character from that SG) called "Dragons of the MidRealm"! WOOT! I'm a MidRealmer - so we chatted in-game about upcoming events, where we had been recently, etc., then hooked up a couple of times at SCA events to say "hi!"

I have a couple of SCA friends (literally - husband & wife gamers) that I am much more likely to see on-line in Paragon City than at an SCA event.

I have also run across fellow players at the FLGS (Friendly Local Gaming Store) once or twice.

And I guess running across fellow City players at science fiction and/or gaming conventions is really kinda cheating in the context of this thread, LOL.

Agreed - or just about any flavor of Defender at all. Or anything that has to "actively" manage anything besides attacks, because apparently it's not that big a deal to have to constantly click attacks, but clicking any mitigation is a really huge deal.

    Seriously.

You can only cure things that are a problem (well other than smoked meats).

Altitis isn't a problem, hence there is no cure.

I have to admit I'm just not jazzed to do this, the whole thing seems a tad too complex for it's own good. I also have to deal with my hours - chances are I'll be playing some toons when there's maybe five other people in a zone (I've frequently seen zones empty save for myself). I'm also not much of a badge-hound; I have one toon I sort of try badge-out for the sake of it, but I've skipped some content I don't enjoy at all such as the ski-runs. Looks like this may be another one of those times.
I think you may combining and confusing 2 separate parts of the event.

The Banners part leads to a GM - but it is called "Greater Aspect" and it might look like Jack or Eochai, but it might not.

The regular hunting for Eo & Jack from last year is completely separate and can happen at the same time as the Banners part - in fact, I have seen stories of groups having to clear Eo out of the way because he spawned on top of one of the Banner locations.
  11. I have 2 Defenders who would have been Blasters if the powersets had been available.

Violet Psyche has /Psi Blasts, stuck at "alomost 30", rolled when I first got the account 57 months ago.

Dark Syrene has /Rad Blasts, stuck in the low 20s, rolled at the same time.

I now have a Psi Blaster (not as much fun as I hoped, lingering in the teens) and a new baby Rad Blaster.

My Fire/Fire Tank from back in the day would also have been a /Firey Armor Scrapper.

    Where is?

Come out of the train station.

go to the bottom of the steps to the right and continue on to the right. She's right there.
  13. OK - I am bringing either:

    Brighid Frost - Fire/Ice Blaster

    or

    Eris Starchilde - Dark/Ice Defender

I will have a couple of other characters in the area in case something else is needed.

    thanks

The SG contact is the same place you set up the basic base (which is one entry room).

Once you have that set up, enter the base where you can start editing. To have teleporters, you will also need energy & control - how much depends on how many teleporters you want to have.

Will this be a solo base? if so,you really only need one teleporter. Change out the teleporter beacons attached to that teleporter to change destinations. it's cheaper that way by a good amount).

Several good guides out there - go check the stickied threads in the Base Construction forums.

So I say get rid of it, just for the sake of clearing up some forum spam.

    This.

Honestly, if comments give you such exasperation, don't read them - easier said than done for some people, I guess, but I only look at them when a thread like this pops up.
  16. Never been on a Hami raid.

Never gotten a Villain to 50 - so also never done a LRSF. Also never created a SoA.

Finally got a Shivan Shard (just last week). Never done any of the other PvP zones things like launch a Warburg rocket.

Never gotten a Kheld past level 15 or so.

(This is Zolgar, he is trying to single-handedly fix the damn market)
This is actually a pretty sane way to price your items. Just recall how the system works:

Ex. 1 - Place an item for sale at 100 inf. Highest outstanding bid to purchase said item is 100,000. Item sells for 100,000 inf.

Ex. 2 - Place an item for sale for 50,000 inf. Highest outstanding bid to purchase is 100,000. Item sells for 100,000 inf.

Ex. 3 - Place an item for sale for 1,000,000 inf. Highest outstanding bid to purchase is 100,000 even though the last 5 sold for considerably more than that, "tricking" the seller to list at a higher price. Item sits on the market unsold.

Your listing fee in Ex. 1 is only 5 inf, and you still get the 100,000 (less the commissions). Why would you not list at that price?

The only thing to remember is to make sure you list the item for the minimum amount you are willing to accept for it. Listing it at 100 might mean that you will only get 95 (100 - 5). For lots of characters that's an acceptable price (especially compared to the vendor price of common salvage of 250).

The listing fee is WAI, so sorry, /unsigned.

P.S. Zolgar - this is also my strategy at the market, for the most part, so you are not so single-handed.

As in - they now hold 100 (one hundred) pieces of Invention Salvage, instead of the 999 (although actually it was 2500 pieces, that didn't display correctly) pieces of Base Salvage and Prototypes, Arcane Essences, etc. So be careful what you take out of old storage - until the level falls under 100, you can't replace it into that storage device.

You can convert the old Base Salvage to Brainstorms (which convert in turn to Invention Salvage) - but before you do, check the going rate at the Market. Some Base Salvage still gets a good price there because people are collecting it.

    Returning player

    Welcome Back!

    1. You can have 3 active missions.

    2. You can drop a mission by revisiting or calling the contact in most cases - the Kill 40 Carnies is one I always drop.

There are a few circumstances where you can't drop a mission. You can't drop a timed mission and you can't drop a mission that grants a badge.

Check the Wiki (www.paragonwiki.com) to find the updates and changes since you left, and as a good general all around source of info.

And come back here with any other questions - we love to race to answer them!

Well it worked. About 30 minutes ago my base power was turned back on. Yes I was absent from the game since June 2009.

Bought a basic work table and made a basic teleport. I had the Luck Charm I needed. They have been selling for 75k. Built just one telepad because between the med reclaimator, the basic work table and the telepad, I am at my limit on the combo power unit.

Now, how do I get more power and control to run more telepads? That combo unit makes 75 control, but the control items I see only go up to 50 and for a lot more prestige. Can I just use another combo unit? Don't know why you can use just one in the oversite room, It is a big waste of space.
Well, unfortunately, you have just hit the big bottleneck in building a base (IMHO). The Prestige cost jump between the power/control of the Combo Unit/Oversight Room to the next level of separate Energy & Control Rooms and the basic Energy & Control items is way too big a gap.

You can only have one Oversight Room, period. To Upgrade, you must add rooms and add items.

I agree the Oversight Roomi is quite big. The only thing you can do is to divide it up and decorate it. I made a garden & player apartment in one of mine.

Filing a /Petition was what I suggested to you yesterday, Firewasp. A "Petition" goes directly to GM/Customer Support. A "Bug" goes to the techy guys, not a GM. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear in my post in Player Questions.

Regarding having to recraft the Teleporters - yes, it's now done with Common & Uncommon Invention Salvage. There are 3 recipes listed for both Tech & Arcane Teleporters, one each at the low level, mid level and high level salvages. Make a note of what salvage is required and then check the Market. Note that one of the recipes requires a Luck Charm (I would not advise using that one BTW). With some savvy shopping, your new Teleporters shouldn't cost you very much at all.

    Yep, that's what it was.

Man, we're getting old in this game, aren't we, Cap?
  23. Put me down for Team 2.

Not sure what I will bring - now that we get XP no matter the level, I can bring a couple of different flavors of Blaster or Defender, just let me know what is desired.

Then almost definitely your problem is the bug I described. A quick /petition should answer the problem for you.

Welcome Back! (And welcome back to the 21st Century! I know what you mean about high tech and the country.)

Lots of stuff to catch up on while you were gone. In regard to bases alone - we had a massive pricing revamp in Issue 13 earlier this year. If you have any Prestige banked at all, you will be able to upgrade your base.
  25. Has the base been inactive for quite some period of time?

Sometimes, there is a bug where inactive bases do not "flip back on" even if you pay the rent. If that happens, you will need to /petition a GM to turn it back on for you. The good news is that it usually is a very quick fix by the GM if this is your problem.

Also - I suggest that you post this over in the Base Construction forum in case one of the gurus over there has a better answer for you.
