Base Energy/Control problem

I have a very small base. It consists of:

Oversight Center -- Combo Power and Control Unit (125 Energy and 75 Control)

Teleport Chamber -- Two Basic Telepads (each draws 50 energy and 25 control)

Workshop -- Salvage Rack, Enhancement Table and Invention Worktable (no requirements)

You can see that my Energy and Control meets my demands, but nothing works. When you click on either the power unit or telepads, it shows a small red bar with no bar underneath and a red bolt flashing. They say they are underpowered.

I have tried adding a basic generator and circuit breaker, but nothing changes.

I have also gone to Galaxy City to check my base status and the upkeep is up to date.

What am I doing wrong?

Seems like it should be working. If you'd like I can take a look for you?

did you add the beacons to the teleporters? although it does sound like a problem with the power/control unit.

Has the base been inactive for quite some period of time?

Sometimes, there is a bug where inactive bases do not "flip back on" even if you pay the rent. If that happens, you will need to /petition a GM to turn it back on for you. The good news is that it usually is a very quick fix by the GM if this is your problem.

Also - I suggest that you post this over in the Base Construction forum in case one of the gurus over there has a better answer for you.

Yes, the base has been dormant for 2 years. I love CoX, but when you move to the country you do have to make sacrifices. Luckily modern technology has finally moved into the area looking for new revenues (me).

Thanks for your help.

Then almost definitely your problem is the bug I described. A quick /petition should answer the problem for you.

Welcome Back! (And welcome back to the 21st Century! I know what you mean about high tech and the country.)

Lots of stuff to catch up on while you were gone. In regard to bases alone - we had a massive pricing revamp in Issue 13 earlier this year. If you have any Prestige banked at all, you will be able to upgrade your base.

Very often for me, after I pay Rent, my Base's Power unit remains off. Piece o' crap. The quick fix is to sell the Power unit, then buy a new one.

Edit:
- this happens in more than one of my Bases, hero and villain side.
- this happens with both Tech and Arcane, regular sized power units.

Well I filed a ticket. They did respond to ask what the problem was and I told them. It has been several hours now and still no power. I tried selling the power unit and buying a new one 3 times - still no juice. You would figure they would turn the lights back on when I came back into the game.

What do you mean upgrade the base?

If its anything like the upgrade on buffing your pets on a mastermind (equipping one pet and they all get it?) I was wondering why the blue bar disappeared when I equipped one pet. I thought it was a nerf and it would take me 10 minutes to buff all the pets

As Ad Astra said, this is a known bug, and happens most frequently to bases that have been dormant for some time.

Only thing you can do is 1) file a petition, and 2) wait. It's happened to a base of mine a couple of times, and it was always fixed within 24 hours or less.

The base upgrade is that they drastically reduced the prices of things in the base in Prestige.

A base that used to cost 30,000 prestige every two weeks to run, now costs 3000. Purchase prices for items were reduced similarly.

As in - they now hold 100 (one hundred) pieces of Invention Salvage, instead of the 999 (although actually it was 2500 pieces, that didn't display correctly) pieces of Base Salvage and Prototypes, Arcane Essences, etc. So be careful what you take out of old storage - until the level falls under 100, you can't replace it into that storage device.

You can convert the old Base Salvage to Brainstorms (which convert in turn to Invention Salvage) - but before you do, check the going rate at the Market. Some Base Salvage still gets a good price there because people are collecting it.

Actually I think the new capacity is 30, not 100 (was pretty sure I remembered that from in-game experience, and the wiki backs it up).
