The SG contact is the same place you set up the basic base (which is one entry room).

Once you have that set up, enter the base where you can start editing. To have teleporters, you will also need energy & control - how much depends on how many teleporters you want to have.

Will this be a solo base? if so,you really only need one teleporter. Change out the teleporter beacons attached to that teleporter to change destinations. it's cheaper that way by a good amount).

Several good guides out there - go check the stickied threads in the Base Construction forums.

To start a base, you just visit the same guy you registered the SG with and tell him you want to build a base. This will give you access to a base with one room (the entry way). This room can only accept decorative items.

Your next step will be to purchase an Oversite room (cost: 50,000 prestige) and put a combo power/control unit in it (Cost: 25,000 Pres and gives 75 control and 125 power). This will give you a little power and control to get started. You'll next need a workshop room (cost: 50,000 Pres) and a basic workbench/forge (cost: 25,000 Pres). With these you can craft your teleporters.

Now you need Teleporter rooms, they cost 100,000 each and can hold 2 TP units (4 beacons to locations), but you can go "cheap" but a Teleporter Bay for 50,000 which holds only one Teleporter.

Keep in mind that each teleporter costs 15,000 pres to place and each beacon costs 10,000 to place. Each teleporter also consumes 50 power and 25 control and each beacon consums 5 control (a "full teleporter" costs 35,000 and burns 50 power and 35 control with the beacons). In other words, even if you delete the work bench, you cna only equip 2 teleporter and 4 beacons before you run out of power and control.

By now, you need to updrade again, adding a proper set of power and control items, this means you need a Control room (100,000) and an Energy Terminal room (100,000) as well as a Mainframe computer (50,000) and basic generator(200,000). You now have your basic items.

From this point its a matter of simply adding teleport rooms, teleporters and beacons, while upgrading (or adding to) the basic control items.

All in all, to get you to a point where you can have a decent number of porters, you'll need to accumulate Between 600,000 and 1 million prestige. however, you can get started and functional in the 200,000 prestige range.

As above but you can put the forge in the oversight room and you don't have to keep it. Create it, see what you need to craft your teleporter and go find it. After you successfully craft the teleporter sell the forge to get back the prestige.

Then create your teleporter room (I suggest the 2x2 room because the alcove only allows 1 beacon), go to "Place Personal Items" (or something similar) and put down your teleporter in the room. Go back to normal edit mode to place your teleporter beacons.

You'll need to earn the beacons by getting the exploration badges in the various areas while in SG mode.

Be sure to turn on Supergroup mode (under the Supergroup tab on the chat box), and try to build up some Prestige. You'll start with 20k but you need to earn all the rest of it and you'll need a lot to get teleporters.

You have plenty of time to learn by tinkering with your 1 room base while you build up prestige. Just remember, prestige never goes away, you can always sell whatever you put down for the same amount you bought it for.

I highly recommend that you go to the Bases forum and look through some of the guides.

Great advice here, and I also recommend that you visit and hang out in the "Base Construction" forum (just two below this one in the same section). Lots of knowledgeable people over there who can answer specific base-related questions and you can get tons of ideas from the various threads already there.

Best of luck designing your new base!

Teleportation Base on a budget

First off you will want to get filler's into your SG roster so you can take advantage of the free prestige you get for the first 15 members. You can do this by getting friends to fill in the slots or you can get one person to invite your alts into the SG. the full 15 will net you 300,000 prestige.

The first thing you want to get is:

Oversight Center - 50,000
Combo Power Control Unit - 25,000

That will provide you with the power and control you will need to operate the teleporter.

Then you'll want to temporarily buy the smallest Workshop room and the Basic Worktable in order to craft the Telepad. You will also need the right combination of invention salvage to craft the Telepad recipe. There are several to choose from.

Tech Telepad

1 Computer Virus, 1 Polycarbon, and 1 Luck Charm
Or
1 Circuit Board, 1 Steel, and 1 Rune
Or
1 Temporal Analyzer, 1 Titanium Shard, and 1 Fortune

Arcane Telepad

1 Clockwork Winder, 1 Temporal Sands, and 1 Simple Chemical
Or
1 Alchemical Silver, 1 Symbol, and 1 Inert Gas
Or
1 Ruby, 1 Destiny, and 1 Silver

Once you have crafted your Telepad you can delete the Workshop room and Worktable. Then you will buy the Teleport Room and place the Telepad.

Teleport Bay 1x2 room - 50,000
Basic Telepad - 15,000

At this point you will have spent a total of 140,000 prestige. The balance you can spend on beacons. Teleport Beacons cost 10,000 prestige each, that means you will be able to buy 16 beacons.

As others have explained you can easily swap out the beacons to get where you need to go until you save up enough prestige to expand your base into larger teleport rooms with more pads.

Also if you are running villainside you only need 9 beacons so that will have extra prestige left over to play with.

Just a quick addendum to Forbin's guide.

  • When you craft the telepad, it goes into your "personal items" pocket. This means you will need to go out of regular editing mode and go into "add personal item" edit mode in order to place them. This is true for all crafted base items, as well as veteran reward items
  • Beacons can be found in the regular edit mode, purchasable through the items tab for teleport rooms. Remember, to get the beacons you must hit the exploration badges in a zone while in SG mode. If you by chance get a badge while not in SG mode, fear not, you can go back and hit it again with SG mode on and it will credit toward the beacon.

One more thing about beacons. Actually about the RWZ beacon, unless there's been a change you can't get the last exploration badge unless you are participating in a mothership raid. The last badge in that zone is under the forcefield and can only be gotten when the FF is down.

Well, you don't have to be participating, just present when one is going on :P

Yep, I wait for a raid, completely ignore the "If you're not raiding, get out!" broadcasts, and as soon as that shield is down I'm making a (usually suicidal) drop onto the center of the mothership.

Kinda reminds me of getting the Heart of Hamidon badge, come to think of it.

I just make sure I'm at the right coordinates before I drop so I get it on the first try.

Pfft. Go to Warburg - the PVP zones are usually empty it seems - and run the patrol before you make your try. Get the temporary phase power. Make your run, when you get close to the ship, turn it on.

I was under the impression that you couldn't do PVP zone missions if you'd already outlevelled the zone. Did that change with the SSK change?

It's been a while, but I seem to remember getting the Heart of the Hamidon badge when Hami wasn't spawned. Just go to where he usually spawns (Vidiotmap overlay is really helpful.)

Warb counts as whatever-50 (35-50?) zone for the missions. Since RV doesn't have any.

Right on, I must have missed that when I checked the wiki for Warburg.

Poor wording on my part, I should have said you needed to be there while the raid was going on.

Dear NegRepper: I reposted your comment so people can get a good laugh at your weak ego boundaries.

I originally made the video to *help* people by showing how to organize the way-too-many telepads needed to connect to all the possible zones.

How is it base bragging to have all the teleporters? Seriously, I have them all and my SG only has like 3 people.

I set mine up a little different
