  1. K Frost, this is what i managed to come up with, using P-ray instead of SD. i still kept blazing, as i can get more +dam outta sets, and more +rech that way, and i've never really been a fan of the animation. Using the toxic pet, what do you think the DPS will be? what would the DPS be vs the other builds DPS? (assume 5 for SD on the other build, as thats a decent sized group, which i think this build should be able to solo no problem)

  2. Using your original build, Frost, this is what i was able to come up with.

    I know you can perma Poison Ray, and you really can't perma Soul Drain, but in the event of groups of mobs, would SD out DPS PR? I picked up consume just in case my end bar wasn't refilled in time for dom, plus it'll help with actual leveling. What do you guys think?

  3. Well, if they are DO level, then you may or may not want to replace them. they are basically a DAM/RECH enhancement, with a Proc on them as well. if its minor damage, then it scales up to about 70-ish damage at level 50. as well as giving you dam/rech. I see that as a means to replace those damage procs people just throw into their 6th slot...

  5. After getting all 8 accolade powers (the passive 4, and the main click 4) in addition to finishing a rough IO build. Which i may or may not tweak, depending on how well the mids builds translates into actual game play.

    I plan on doing that to all my toons, and once I'm done, it'll be incarnates time
  6. The biggest problem i noticed was using sands of mu during the rage crash, and then having my toggle eat up the small amount of end i have left, after trying to continue my attack chain.

    Once i stopped trying to do damage while i crashed out, my end didn't sink nearly as low, and became manageable again. It also helped i stopped running sprint after herding mobs up.

    So it was basically all user error.. I R dumb sometimes.

    Actually, the ATs that have access to single target 'web grenades' clearly outnumber the ones that have access to AoE ones.

    And Mace mastery, that one that has the AoE Web grenade, is only available to VEATs, Brutes, Corruptors, and Masterminds

    VEATs, no matter how to slice it, is still just 1 AT.

    Blasters get devices.

    Corruptors, Masterminds, and Defenders get traps.

    Scrappers get Weapons Mastery.

    And for 'Web Grenade clones' you have trick arrow, which is available to defenders, controllers, corruptors, and masterminds.

    So, the number of ATs with access to single target 'web grenades' clearly outnumber the ones that have AoE web grenades.

    So its actually better for that to be a single target power.

    I do have to agree that a damaging ability in a debuff set is kinda odd, so maybe you could replace Frag Grenade with another single target grenade like power.
  8. Eh, you could very easily turn web grenade into an single target power, as i don't really know very many web grenades that are AoEs.. (traps, and devices are both single target)
  9. Does it prevent the end crash? the damage and defense crash im not too worried about, its the hit to my endurance thats killing me.
  10. Its the combined hasten/rage crash. thats 50% end, gone. and my attack chain, and five toggles drain about that much end by the time hasten/rage crashes. should i just slow my chain down when i see hasten/rage crashing, and hope that does the trick?
  11. No, i don't run sprint in combat (only to travel between groups) and i only run darkest night against Psi damaging bosses, or EBs
  12. Hey guys, this is what im currently running on my brute, and I'm one RSF away from getting marshall, so once i get that my problem might go away, but I'm having some massive end issues after the combined hasten/rage crash. Any ideas how to plug that hole?

  13. Arbegla

    Stalker DPS...

    Explain. using math.

    Cuz heres what i'm going at. Placate is a 1.5 seconds animation, which gives your next attack, a 100% to crit, which depending on the attack, could be as high as 250% damage (AS crits that high technically) So the DPA of placate is the % of damage its increasing the next attack by, which is actually pretty awesome, considering placate animates so quickly.

    Treat placate like you would Build up, and its a pure DPS increase. Plain and simple.
  14. Ya know, i have the exact opposite problem.

    Whenever i do a clean install of city, or rewipe my harddrive *atlest once a year..* I just pop in my install disc from my GvE pack, and run the install. Granted, that puts me at, i think I7? so i still have about 2 gigs left to download. While its going, i install my other games/drivers/windows updates, and by the time I'm completely set (usually 3 hours, give or take) city is done.

    WoW on the other hand, is a overnight thing. Set that in the morning i gotta goto work, get home, see its only at 45%, head to bed, and I'm lucky if its done by the time i wake up the next morning, with everything up to the lich king, which is the current full game.

    The Trail may be different, but I'd much rather be able to just upgrade my account, and not have to redownload anything, then have to wait another entire day, and waste my money waiting for a download (as you pay to upgrade, so any days your not playing, due to downtime, or downloading is wasted money)
  15. Arbegla

    Stalker DPS...

    There no reason to negate hide from the equation, when placate gives 100% chance for a crit on the next attack. so you start the chain with BU->AS->normal attack chain, and once your recharge is set where you can do one, or even two 'normal attack chains' for BU and AS to be up again, just throw in placate, and repeat. no different then using BU whenever its up, as the crit will increase overall DPS.
  16. Arbegla

    EM attack

    in all honestly, i would skip energy transfer, and get TF. Couple of reasons.

    TF can crit, ET can't.

    TF does about the same damage without critting as ET does, yet, it doesnt hurt you, and as an SR, you don't have a heal to counter it.

    TF is only about .5 seconds longer animating.

    BU -> AS -> Placate -> TF will down a boss, before they can do anything to you. Or, rather, just about.
  17. Dull Pain fixes the psi hole pretty nicely IMO...
  18. When you sent the emails, you did send them to your global right? and not your characters name? That could be what caused everything to go poof...

    in other news, they really need a 'sent' folder now that we can send things back and forth with meaning.
  19. Quote:
    and as one of the previous posters mentioned, the power also gives you some acc debuff resist so that enemy accuracy debuffs do not affect you as much
    Its tohit debuff resistance, not acc debuffs, theres no such thing as acc debuffs.

    And, according to the math from this site: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Combat_mechanics

    HitChance = Clamp( AccMods × Clamp( BaseHitChance + ToHitMods – DefMods ) )

    Basehitchance is 75%, and you said you don't have any tohit mods, so lets assume the mobs don't have any defmods, so half the equation looks like this:

    (BaseHitChance + ToHitMods - DefMods)
    (75% + 0 - 0)
    (.75 + 0 - 0)
    (.75) is your final 'basehitchance + your tohitmods, - the mods defmods'

    and you said you have 1.57 acc, plus your slotting so im just going to assume ED capped acc, which is about 96%, so 1.57 + .96 = 2.53, which is your acc mods so, assuming your powers doesn't have any accmods of its own, this is how you figure out your accmods

    AccMods = the power's inherent Accuracy × (1.0 + the power's Accuracy Enhancements + all global Set Accuracy bonuses)

    Lets assume the powers inherent acc is just 1.0, which most powers are. Some are higher, but to make this simple, lets just pretend all your attacks are 1.0.

    So, its now AccMods = 1.0 X (1.0 + .96 +.57)
    Which turns into that above solution of 2.53.

    So, now we can figure out that main equation, and your total hitchance against a even level foe (a white minion)

    HC (HitChance) = (HC > 5%, HC < 95%)(2.53 X (.75))

    Where the (HC > 5%, HC < 95%) is the clamps.

    which comes out to 1.8975, and when thats converted to a percent, your looking at 189% hit chance, which due to the clamps, is still only 95%.

    So, lets have some fun with this, shall we:

    HC = (2.53 X (.65)) = chance to hit +1 minion.
    HC = (1.6445) = Still 95% total hitchance.

    HC = (2.53 X (.56)) = chance to hit +2 minion
    HC = (1.4168) = Still above 95% total hitchance, so its rounded to 95%.

    lets see just how high your total hitchance is against a max level minion (+4)

    HC = (2.53 X (.39))
    HC = (.9867) = Still, 95%.

    Now all the above equations are factoring in defensemods of the mobs so they aren't buffed, or debuffed, and all of them are assuming are you zero tohitmods, which means your not debuffed or buffed.

    But, yeah, Acc is generally better then Tohit, theres just much more ways to get tohit, then Acc.
  20. Basically slot omega like you would a blaster nuke, so lots of damage, and lots of recharge, with a sprinkle of acc, and end.

    Its a VERY long recharge power, so its not up very much, so when you do use it, you want the most damage out of it as you can.

    and, if you have to pick, pure acc is always better then pure tohit, and the fact that CT:O offers tohit debuff resistance, it helps when your getting debuffed. I would however, only slot about 2 ACC SOs, or common IOs in it, and still slot your normal attacks with about 1 SO/IO (or about equal to, using sets, if/when you get to that)
  21. just to add math to things, heres the 'chance tohit' equation:

    The master hit chance formula is:
    HitChance = Clamp( AccMods × Clamp( BaseHitChance + ToHitMods – DefMods ) )

    where

    * BaseHitChance is what the attack's chance of hitting would be if there were no modifiers at all – no Enhancements, no buffs, no level differences, nothing
    * ToHitMods is the sum of all ToHit buffs and debuffs (the debuffs will be negative)
    * DefMods is the sum of all relevant Defense buffs and debuffs (ditto)
    * AccMods is the product of all Accuracy multipliers, and
    * Clamp(x) limits x to the range of 5% to 95%

    ToHitMods and DefMods are 0 by default. AccMods defaults to 1.

    So, lame man terms, Acc, is a multipler, where tohit is an additive. If your being massively debuffed on your tohit, or your opponent has high defense, your acc will actually overcome it faster then a normal tohit buff.

    But, the flip side, is aside from normal slotting, and set bonuses, there's not many ways to increase ACC, and theres a metric ton of ways to increase tohit..

    Pizza Bad guys.

    So tonight I was playing on my willpower/fire melee tanker, and my 3yr old was sitting in my lap, helping me 'Beat up bad guys' and I was running random DE missions from some contact I had, just doing missions, and as I was walking into the DE groups, my kiddo would point at the Fungoid, Deathspore and Deathcap mobs, and say 'Pizza bad guys! Beat up the pizza bad guys!' She also said the same thing about the Razorvine, Blackrose and Deathblossom mobs, saying those are Tree bad guys.

    My girlfriend was doing her homework on her laptop right behind us, turned around and asked Alex (my daughter) if she wanted to eat the pizza bad guys, and Alex said, without skipping a beat "No, I don't want to taste any bad guys." It was quite possibly the cutest City related thing I've ever heard, and I wanted to share.

    PS, yes, I'm training my child to be a 'City of' lover at a young age.

    So, share your cute child stories.
  23. Hey guys, i threw this build together, trying to get as much +resistance on my pets as i could, while attempting to get my debuffs perma. Its a Praetorian build, so i don't want to mess with the patron power pools.. what do you guys think?

  25. Alrighty guys, I'm running a Radeon HD 4870, with the 10.4 drivers, Win XP pro SP3, and 4 gigs of ram (limited to 3.25 due to XP)

    I just got CCC working with the 10.4 (had to uninstall the 10.3 drivers, CCleaner, reboot, and reinstall the 10.4)

    I'm wondering what the best settings would be to get the most out of my system, without dragging my FPS into the dirt.

    Any help would be great
