Have high lvl scrappers and brutes so vaguely kow the difference between the two AT's. Given the powers I am looking at (elect/dark), what are your recommedations between the two classes? Never played these two sets and have a concept for them together.
By way of background, I PvE only and try to team 95% of the time. Currnently on a melee kick and looking at AOE focus powers (thus also rolling a spines/fire scrapper and a earth/ shield brute).
Thank you in advance for your advise. -

As the title indicated, I am wanting to try out this AT with my only experience being from when COV first came out and I tried a Dom -cant remember the sets- and was underwhelmed by the experience.
I PvE only and try to team 99% of the time. When time permits, I enjoy doing TFs. I small kind craft (franken-slot or cheap sets).
I have played the following sets on controllers: lvl 50 fire/, lvl 46 ice/, lvl 45 Ill/, lvl 36 Earth/, lvl 39 mind/ (didn't like the powers so delted), and a lv 12 elect/.
Have a concept for a Earth/Fire and I like the controls earth has.
Are Doms welcomed on TFs or given the pity spot usually reserved for trick arrow defenders (btw the first 50 was a trick defender )?
How does this class rank damage wise (blaster/scrapper damage or closer to trick arrow defender damage)?
What are some things I should expect from the AT or little known things that generally people don't know about?
Thanks in advance for you help/suggestions/stories. -

Picked up Science Pack and would have picked up the Natural Pack if it was on sale. Too bad it wasn't

Long time player but recently returning to the forums so this question may be a no-brainer for you guys. Looking for a AOE king, thus wondering what damage aura/secondary I should go with. With inherent fitness coming out, damage auras don't scare my blue bar as much.
I have a lvl 50 spines/SR that puts out respectable damage, that is why I was focusing on spines. If I am missing something there on my primary, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on that matter as well. (Perhaps electric?)
Note: On the brute boards, the majority over there feel SS/Fire is the build for AOE greatness.
Playstyle: This is going to be for PvE with a lot of teaming if that helps with your answer at all.
Thanks in advance for your input. -
Could never really get into /WP myself (deleted my lvl 28 BS/WP because of boredom). My lvl 46 claws/SR is a beast though. She was fairly easy and inexpensive to soft-cap. My only con when playing her is that I feel sorry for any tanks on the team. I routinely beat them to mobs and absorb/dodge alpha before they throw their first taunt.
Why do I like SR over WP? Perhaps WP was too predictable for me. SR gives you a little risk, which for me, keeps the game interesting. -
My first 50 was a Trick arrow/archery Defender. I loved that hero because she was fun to play with. I dreaded having to solo with her (like aura missions or hunting misisons) because her damage was poor (this was pre-defendenr solo buff). Despite that though she was fun.
Last night I just dinged 35 on my archery/trick corruptor. Having a blast with her as well.
If I had to choose one and only one, it would be the corrupter. Seeing "scourge" float above a mob when my rain of arrows lands, make me feel like I have an actual nuke. If a freak tank rezzes after the team took off, I can handle him on my corruptor where I would not be able to do so on my defender in a decent amount of time.
I team 95% of the time and although my buffs/debuffs are appreciated, the damage I bring to the table with with my corruptor is noticed. -
Send me a tell in game or private message. That name is still available. Since we are both on Hawaiian time that will make things easier (although a lot of people found me last night - which was really late evening on the mainland). -
Unfortunately for me, this game has evolved beyond my ability to enjoy it as I once did. Fortunately for everyone else, I am giving away my stuff. The following names will be available soon from the following servers:
Freedom Server:
Sun Dancer
Midnight Angel
Ghost Cloud
Speed Girl
Inventrix
Gamma Girl
Hyperia
Fantastic Girl
Tada
Start
Kitt Fox
Minus 0
Unstoppable
American Knight
Hyper-Jolt
Jinx Cat
Virtue Server:
Speed Girl (yes I had one on this server too)
Teen Titan
Spell Crafter
Tex Arcania
Sable Fox
Gianormous
Champion Server:
Little Isis
USAvenger
Fantastic Girl (yes, had one on this server too)
Teen Titan (yes, had one on this server too)
Spirit Wind
Skids
Energy-Girl
Thats all the names I can remember off the top of my head, this list may be revised as I go through the servers.
Additionally, all names will not be available instantly in that I am using up my vet respecs and freeing up some IO Sets (mostly +defense since I liked to soft cap everything and some + stealth ones), no purples, and giving those away in game to anyone that can use them (or will even take them surprising how hard it is trying to convince someone to take something for free).
I hope this adds to your enjoyment of the game. CoX was my first MMO and I had a lot of great times these past 5 years. I hope many of you will have as fun much as I use to have in this game. Good luck and have a super time. -
Lately, it has seemed to me that the majority of the redside player-base has been involved with AE stuff. Occassionally I will see a SF or respec form but for the most part a lot of the population is on Cap. Just today I was searching for a team and excluded from the search window the Cap's map and saw significantly fewer villains.
Anyways, being that i run primarily PvE missions and prefer teaming (it is an MMO afterall), I am finding that the invites to missison teams have really picked up. My impression is that those who want to run missions have less to choose from and so stalkers are just as desireable as any other person.
Once i am on a team I more than pull my weight so I figure these teaming moments where I may have been little more than a warm body initially are an opportunity to show what a stalker can do.
Has anyone else noticed an increase in invites to their stalkers? -
"Hi Sexy" was all that was said? Give me a break! If that really makes the orignal poster THAT anxious, she has bigger problems than preceived sexual harassment.

I heard the announcement go out on the Freedom TF channel about an all scrapper ITF and jumped on my lvl 43 claws/sr and headed over to Cimeroia (sp?). The team of eight if I recall correctly was:
BS/SR
Spines/Invul
Fire/regen
BS/SD
MA/SR
Kat/SR
?/SR
Claws/SR (me)
I was surprised with the amount of /SR's on the team and they wre all over the soft-capped number. The fire/regen scrapper had concerns about her getting trounced, displaying doubt about regen's ability in an ITF (she did okay btw).
The team was formed in under 10 minutes so I may be forming acouple of these in the future. I was the only non-50 so I sk'ed up with the spines/invul scrapper who did solidly through out except for mission 2 where the dwarfs and squids knocked him silly quickly. This player was new to the ITF so while the 6 others "sped" through the ITF him and me ended up doing a lot of "unnecessary" fighting (which was okay with me being I would rather fight through than speed through things anyways).
Communication was a problem in that it was never agreed or made clear that this was a speed ITF so at times the team was 3 way separated during the first 3 missions (which actually wasn't that bad given each small team could handle themselves.
Were there any wipes? Almost. In the second mission all but 2 died. Because I wasn't with the main team my belief is that the 6 others got overwhelmed with ambushes in the room with the 3? crystals in them. Also the computer destruction part took its toll on most of the team.
What about the AVs? Third mission AV's went down no problem. Last mission we got hit hard at our first attempt at Romie, but then we found our groove and knocked him down consistently.
How did each scrapper's secondary do during the ITF? Overall, I think each held up well. The spines/invul did better than I thought he would. I say this because I have a invul/tank at around 43 and do okay during the ITF but ASSUMED the scrapper's /invul would be much lower in strength (and I don't think he was IO'ed either). The fire/regen player did well (noticed her because I hate fire melee animations).
And how did I do with /SR? Not as good as I thought I would do. Although I am at 48ish with both melee and range, with AOE I am only around low 30's. Needless to say those engineers were kicking my butt.
Our time was about 50 minutes and although that is slow for a "speed" ITF, that was a good pace for me and my mentor. It could have been MUCH quicker if there was better communication and everyone being on the same page.
All in all, I had a good time and am tempted to start forming these types of ITF, although I would open it up to brutes and stalkers as well.
If you have a chance to join one of these, I encourage you to do so. -
Maybe if you posted your build we might be able to answer your questions. I havew a invul tank and love the feel of him at higher levels but admittly I face more smashing/lethal damage blue side than yuor are going to face red side where energy damage is everywhere.
Will be following this thread though because I LOVE brutes love and have a concept for a /invul one. -
Title pretty much says it. Since MA animations are being tweaked, I was wondering if the stalker's MA animation for assasin strike will be given an option as well. The current one is not to my liking.

Looking for a nice solid seconday that will allow me to stay in the fight after I AS. I have tried /nin twice (lvl 27 DB/ and lvl 10 MA/) the the set didn't really sing to me.
I have two soft-capped /SR scrappers (claws/ and spines/) so I am comfortable with /SR and may go down that route with DB/.
Is /SR my best avenue for mixing it up? Do you guys have other suggestions? I like to team a lot and not really into PvP if that helps.
Thanks. -

After following the link to watch the 15th Anninversary video (which I thought was 'meh' myself - where is that one player who does those things, she rocks) I began reading the comments from that website about COX.
Seemed the majority commented on how the end character was Bison (a toon in Street Fighter) and how the graphics in the game were poor. A few did say they would play the game - if it were free, or that it was an awesome game - around issue 3.
Sometimes, for me at least, I spend too much time reading our boards and hearing what regular players feel about the game, and not hear different perspectives from people outside the game. Again, I just found that to be interesting.

"Perspectives" like the ones on the GameTrailers site tend to be prevalent (if you want similar perspectives, read the comments on NCsoftNorCal's YouTube profile, on any video they post there, or on Massively.com after any CoH article they do).
To quote Vaarsuvius from THE ORDER OF THE STICK, I'd swear that most of these people are "horrible, loathesome, supremely selfish creatures who behave contemptibly, laugh at the pain of others, have no manners whatsoever, and whose mental acuity would be compared unfavorably to that of a table."
Ergo, I tend to ignore most of what they say, because even when they have valid points (Reichsman looks like Bison, the graphics are dated, etc), they generally present their opinions in such a grossly stupid way.
Re: the trailer itself, David and the gang appear to be going for a consistent 'look' to the newer trailers for the game (see the Issue 14 trailer, the 5th anniversary 'shout-out' to the players, and the Mission Architect Tutorials), and all in all, it's a good trailer that covers all the bases of the new issue.
As for 'that one player who does those things', I think you're talking about me... to answer your question, I 'retired' from making CoH trailers just before Issue 14.

First of all, I love you because you quoted Order of the Stick. Secondly, I love you because your trailors were very good. Pull a Farve and unretire yourself please. -

Un-be-liev-able -
I just heard someone saying hardcore gamers were going from lvl 1 to 50 in a day before AE came out. This I found hard to believe in that I remember certain RO (repeat offender) players forming teams during double XP weekends and taking 2 days to reach this mark.
I could see someone reaching 1 to 50 in a day during the Winter Lords event (I got a controller to lvl 21 in under an hour), and I have been on farms (both AE and content ones) where xp was good but not one-day-to-50 good.
Is this one day to 50 thing common? Am I out of the PL loop? To answer my own question, the fastest I heard was 2 days during double xp weekend.
How fast have you heard it being done? -
