Can I have a free respec as compensation?
[/ QUOTE ]
Bet you'd still forget hasten -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it's a hold so use it!
[/ QUOTE ]
Cool, cheers - looks like a busy night ahead! -
Just a quick question - does Petrifing Gaze from the scrapper DM epic set count as a hold for the holding stage?
-
I basically respec'd out of TK and put CAK in my attack chain - Air Superiority took TK's place as a quick recharge attack.

So, the poison set, eh? Ive played it up to L36 on my mastermind, thought Id post some random thoughts on it. Im not a number-cruncher and rely more on the feel of a set of powers (hence why I enjoyed /SR so much!). To be honest, once I got to L32 and the final upgrade on the primary I almost put the character to one side, but Id like to get it up to 40 now Im close.
Alkaloid gives the set a nice single target heal its quick to recharge and has allowed me to function as a healer for a small group if required. I do like the early stage de-buffs (Envenom and Weaken) they seem to be a big help against Hero targets, and Neurotoxic Breath can help lock down a mob if the team doesnt have a dominator. Elixir of Life gives res ability with comedy side effect (my kind of power) and Paralyzing Poison is a handy little hold to deal with troublesome lieutenants having it six-slotted with two acc, two hold and two recharge enhancements seems about right.
On slotting; as Ive only taken five powers off the primary, its meant Ive been able to free up a lot slots for the Poison set so its pretty comprehensively slotted.
Ive not taken Antidote so cant comment on thats effectiveness, and tried Poison Trap and hated it sleep powers seemed pretty useless as my robots fired their AOEs away at mobs. The last power looks a bit pap too, and Im probably not going to take that either it seems dependent on the minions on being in melee range and whilst that might be good for zombies or ninjas, robots should be working at range.
Im fully prepared to acknowledge that Im wrong about this though deep down Im a scrapper at heart, and Im sure I play these thinking required ATs a bit wrong! Love to hear from other poison players about this set. I think its got some good utility, allowing you to be quite aggressive in de-buffing and holding mobs or holding back if you need to and helping your team with heals and the like normally for me its a blend of the two. -
Just a couple of comments: -
I dont think Hasten is required in any SR build now quickness gives you a decent recharge and if youre prepared to slot a recharge enhancement in a couple of your attacks, youll have a fluid attack chain. Itll also mean you can make Practiced Brawler auto-click and not need to worry about when a good time to fire hasten off is. Too much thinking = not enough smashing = bad.
That would free up a power pool, and to be honest whilst travel powers are a matter of taste, I cant imagine playing a melee character now without using air superiority its low-end, quick-recharge and as it does knockdown gives you some control; I cant enthuse enough about this attack enough. -
I'll bring Harv along for the festive fun and frolics.

A team of the Femmes Fatales will be present to do what we do best: talk rubbish.
And help wail on those sorry villains good. -
I did have group fly and res-pec'd out of it - it was occasionally useful and looked really cool, but the bots couldn't keep up and kept falling out of the field which led me flying backwards half the time.
Luxury power at best. -
Base raiding - how frequently can this be done?
ie, can you be raided weekly, monthly, only in a specific timeframe? -

Yep, it's somewhat, erm, interesting to see all 3 Drones, both PB's and Mr. Stompy open up with their AoE's as their first attack on a spawn...
The opposition seems to just melt away, assuming it's not conning yellow, or a lieutenant or higher, or just resistant to energy damage (damn Crystal type DE )

I love that bit - that's when you realise that commanding an army of metallic morons is worth it and not an exercise in frustration -
[ QUOTE ]
I was thinking SR, as I've done the Regen before, but rather liked it so stuck with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
SR is a love or hate set - you have to have the mindset that sometimes you will be a God and nothing will hit you, and sometimes you'll be faceplanted by a -1 mob and accept both possibilities as the blessing and curse of the set
SR is the set for true suicide scrappers -
Sorry to jump in here - who's the best person to send an in-game message to to get stuff organised? I have a Cunning Plan on how coalition groups can help each other out
-
I've got two green SO's in it and quickness, and its always on - I have it on perm-click.
-
Funny how everyone pretty much agrees with the core powers but then the variables come down to individual play-styles!
I wont be taking FA having the leadership pool replaces my need for that. Assualt gives me a little extra in the damage department (and for me, to maximize my damage is the essential part of scrapping) and tactics gives me a good boost to accuracy after slotting it a couple of times; plus FA is such an endurance hog I cant run it with all the other toggles.
Personal preference cant stand flurry (too long an animation for the damage done) but adore Air Superiority. Its got knockdown, it deals with flyers, low endurance cost, quick recharge. Whirlwind is kind of interesting though, I will have to work on an alt with it!
Cobra Strike is one of those things I'm split over - I rarely use it for PvE, and I'm not sure of it's PvP usefulness. -

That went great,a lot people of crashed though ( I think everyone everyone crashed at least once).
Great mission at the end aswell. To bad I only got the so ( lvl 33 dmg) and no badge.I have send a petition to the gm,they should reply because I dont pay them for nothing(They are payed from our subscription fee I think) so
I look forward to the next tf.Not sure which to do next but i'll see how it turns out.

Cheers for organising this mate, I enjoyed it loads despite the two crashes. Couple of AVs, one pretty unique map, and a quality team to do it with. -

I figure this gives me a strong PvE build, with decent PvP survivability no real tricks but a good, solid scrapper. The last three powers are a bit of a head-scratcher for me with three powers I can obviously go through the lists of either another pool or epic pool set, but not sure which one, although I know Im not going down the LBE and Energy Torrent route as they dont really fit the way I play the character (standard-issue suicide scrapper). Im not going for Hasten, as imho /SR scrappers dont need it if they grab quickness.
Thoughts would be welcomed, or opinions about other pool powers. -
If you've got space then I'm game with False Dawn - L29 robot/poison MM
-
Cheers folks.
I remained unconvinced of Hastens usefulness to the SR scrapper following the introduction of enhancement diversification; by taking quickness, youre capable of having a workable attack chain and a majority of the SR powers are toggles, with the exeception being Elude, which is more a panic button for me rather than something I use with any degree of regularity.
Using a 1 acc / 3 dam / 1 rchg / 1 endred slotting basis and with quickness, an attack chain of SK-AS-CAK-SK-CK seems to give me decent DPS. The real umming and aaahing is over the value of EC as an attack in the MA set, but thats a whole different kettle of fish
Plus, Ive PB on perm-click, hasten is simply another thing to remember, and Im pretty old and forgetful. -
Just wanted to get some advice for my MA/SR scrapper. The toon is level 50, but Im respecing (again)for ED. I did have Hasten in the build which Im dropping, so my question is about whether Quickness is worth taking or not.
Basically, Im concerned about two major things here:
1. Will I be able to perma-PB without Quickness? If so, how many SO slots will it take?
2. My attacks are Storm Kick, Air Superiority, Crippling Axe Kick, Crane Kick and Eagles Claw. To get a solid attack chain going, will one recharge SO be sufficient without Quickness, or would I need two? -

Im thinking of starting a debate on a different topics on arena channel, maybe each night, 3 times a week, i dont know yet...

Will it be a mass debate? *chuckles* -

Oooh a new year hami raid - everyone has to be half cut!
[/ QUOTE ]
Playing whilst half cut is never, ever a bad idea. Until the following morning ("I've hit the debt cap?")
Big AND clever! -
This sounds double-plus good, count me in.
Santa is alread a blaster - I seen it! I'm therefore claiming Snowman theme for scrapperdom. -
Just another post to say thanks to all who organized and marshaled the teams for the raid, especially Energon for leading the team I was in and making it very clear what we should and should not be doing.
As some above me have said, it was made clear before and during the raid what the plan was, and some people seemed to enjoy screwing up that plan. A GM in the Hive when a raid is going on would be sensible, seeing as its a monthly event that a lot of people attend (100+ this raid, I believe).
