Quick question on Crippling axe kick
My experience was always that it was very poor but I wasn't aware of any 'radical' changes recently.
Have just repecced in using crippling axe kick as I heard it has changed, and I can confirm it has. Is now a worthwile attack, does damage about halfway between Storm kick and Crane kick now, as well as the chance to disorientate, personally use it now I need an extra attack for when hasten is down, and does more damage than thunder kick
Ok thanks for that. Im wanting to give my main a nice respecing but I do so hate respecing. Ill out it in the possible basket then. I do know in rl axe kicks are very nasty so I was disapointed with its original performance.
does it still have the really long animation? it was that alone that made me drop it as soon as i saw it working.
@ExtraGonk
Yes Crippling Axe Kick got boosted in I6.

Slightly Modified some Martial Arts damage scales, end costs and recharge times.

It now does almost the same damage as Crane Kick
[edit] See below for correction. It now does the same damage as Crane kick *used* to.
Numbers wise Brawl Index of 4.5.
The chance to disorient + slow isn't that high still (unlike Cobra strike) but a nice side effect when it does happen.

Yes, the animation is unchanged, has nearly caused a couple of faceplants but personally I think the extra damage makes up for it, with hasten active I can still get off the same attack chain as before without Focus Chi running down
I personally don't mind the animation. It's 2 seconds the same as Crane Kick and looks nifty!
However I prefer to use CaK in my chain ahead of Crane kick because with Crane you need to chase after knockbacked opponents.
With Quickness (no Hasten) and one Rec Red in each attack.
It's easy to chain -> Eagles Claw -> CaK -> Storm -> Crane (occasional Dragons tail or Air Sup thrown in)
There's a post on the US Boards, I can't find it at the moment, but it basically said that the changes to MA with I6 gave it a net increase overall.
The chain he gave for best DPS was.
SK -> CAK -> TK -> SK -> CK -> TK
You'd only want to use this on an AV, GM or +3 Boss from my little play with it. If it's even cons up to +1's and +2's then I'll run in, hit Focus Chi then Dragons Tail, Eagles Claw, Crane Kick and then CAK. Which should leave at least one boss and may an Lt. or Minion dead.
Crippling Axe Kick hits as hard as crane kick used to (They almost doubled the damage!). Crane kick hits as hard as eagle claw used to. Eagle Claw hits even harder.
What you lost in I6 was;
added 2 secs recharge to Crane kick
added 2 secs recharge to eagle Claw.
Remove the immob from crippling Axe kick.
Damage from thunderkick. The 2,7 it used to have, was lowered to 2,3.

Thanks Nightbringer, you're spot on.
Although CAK still appears to still have immob and slow.
some of the figures here.
From US forum
I basically respec'd out of TK and put CAK in my attack chain - Air Superiority took TK's place as a quick recharge attack.
Welll for quite a while I didnt have TK and then put it in later. I also used to have CS. Now I think I may put that back as ot was.
As Im sure you gathered Im wanting to respec my MA/regen scrapper but wanted to wait and see how things were. That and I HATE respecing. All those fugging numbers and tech details ugh.

Exactly the same here. Air Sup is a great power, since its knockdown is almost guaranteed.
Right I may be considering respecing this in my build as I hear its changed alot. Is this true? I want to know for tonights action. But Im sure it will help anyone else.
