MA/SR build critique required
I respecced to a flying scrapper recently and took
all the Primary (exept for Warrriors challenge) and also
All the secondary (except Lucky).
I also agree that you dont need the "body mastery" epic
I seem to get by without the need for "Conserve Energy" in I6. I did try it and LBE in I5 and it was fun but I prefer to be in the middle of a scrap instead.
I added some powers that would help in PvE & PvP
- Caltrops, Exteremly annoying when used against you.
Has many benefits including -Fly, -Speed, almost as good as a hold in PvP.
- TP Foe. Useful for pulling, especially with "Focus Chi" you can pull yellow Cons no problem (orange sometimes).
- Hover I took this instead of Air Sup. Mainly becasue I already took all attacks in MA.
Hover can be used in combat to give a defense bonus (at not sure if this changed)
Avoids Caltrops and reduces knockback effect (you just do a flip instead).
- Dragons tail the only AoE we get is nice to have just for the Knockdown. The knockdown stops mobs from attacking
you which helps.
Nothing more satisfying than the loud smacking sound it gives and seeing a large mob flying up in the air.
Lastly I toyed with the idea of taking medicine pool just for the "Aid Self" but I didnt have 2 powers to spare. Some other scrappers have some sort of self heal so why not SR.
Cobra Strike is always nice IMO. The disorient is a nice bit of melee control that's handy in PvE and PvP. I've got that slotted for Acc and Recharge and it's usually available when I need it.
I went for Weapon Mastery for my epic on the principle that it suited my character, but caltrops are always nice and shuriken is pretty cool for taking down runners at a distance. Exploding shuriken is a bit rubbish though, had to respec that out.
Suicide scrapper, eh! First get Focussed Accuracy from the Body Mastery pool to make sure that you attacks hit (proposed slotting 3 ACC, 3 ENDRED). Then get either Punch or Kick from the Fighting pool (don't need to slot it as you've got enough and better MA attacks). This opens up Tough for that extra survivability (~18% S/L RES, 3-slotted). Might want to dip into fighting pool earlier, if planning to exemp down. Don't have much choice for FA.
Another option would be to take Weave instead of FA, although as the DEF bonus is only about 5% even when 3-slotted, I'm not sure it's worth it.
Disclaimer: Flitz is only 39 at the moment so I don't actually have any experience with slotting FA and don't have Tough in my build.

Hehe...your build is almost similar to my proposed speedster. Great fun to play with all the suicide aspects you seem to be going for. ^_^
You could get the power mastery epics as your last 3 powers and give you some relief in terms of endurance and acc.
Or you could go for the speed power pool and get some fun powers to play with. Flurry gives out a higher dmg output compared to Air Superiority and also has the chance of disrientating foes. Whirlwind a hilarious and useful power. Hasten not essentially needed providing you have quickness slotted with 3 run speed SOs.

These 3 are toggles the FF and FS will be run practically all th etime so I would slot in a couple of end reducers. Also by the time I was able to get Evasion I never really bothered, might have hurt with the splash damage from malta and Nemessis but never seamed to mind it.

ma/sr scrapper now lvl35. i ended up taking whirlwind instead of evasion at lvl34 instead of going with the intended build above. mainly because its a lot more fun, plus like misterj, AoEs didn't seemed to affect (bother) me during missions.
as for the end reducs in the fs & ff, originally had them in prior to respec'ing at lvl 32. to me the endurance used by the two toggles was hardly registered, therefore i went without end reducs. it was my attacks that caused the most endurance use...however at my current lvl, i find in missions solo'ing, my endurance isn't much of a bother.

Particularly against Nemesis, I found that Evasion was really necessary - especially in large teams. I even held of doing a Nemesis story arc until I got Evasion at 35. The type of Nemesis you encounter through the 30s seems to change quite a bit with more of them doing AoEs at levels 35+.
Someone else mentioned Cobra Strike - hadn't realised you had left it out. Put it back in!

i used to have tough and its only good against 2 types of attacks so completely pointless when u r hit by energy etc what sr build is lacking compared to other scrappers is the ability to put health back with aid self u can do that and no matter what the type of attack u can give urself 40% however if u always have a good healer then dont bother, i am a hit and runner as i could be dead by the time a healer gets to heal me so it is a question of playstyle

Funny how everyone pretty much agrees with the core powers but then the variables come down to individual play-styles!
I wont be taking FA having the leadership pool replaces my need for that. Assualt gives me a little extra in the damage department (and for me, to maximize my damage is the essential part of scrapping) and tactics gives me a good boost to accuracy after slotting it a couple of times; plus FA is such an endurance hog I cant run it with all the other toggles.
Personal preference cant stand flurry (too long an animation for the damage done) but adore Air Superiority. Its got knockdown, it deals with flyers, low endurance cost, quick recharge. Whirlwind is kind of interesting though, I will have to work on an alt with it!

Apparently very good power for Stalker. It provides a high magnitude of disorientate (100% I've heard)and -fly/jump. Coupled with a lucky Eagle's Claw strike (about 60% disorientate) will stack against bosses. I can imagine it to be quite useful in PvP and solo PvE missions.
The damage of the power is laughable, but a lot more effective than Air Superiority...therefore you can take Flurry ( yes i know you don't like it...but more dmg and disorientate ^_^ ), then whirlwind!

Very good in PvE although doesn't hold LTs long and doesn't seem to / rarely affects bosses. Not much PvP experience but I have seen it work - not for long though.

If you use Cobra Strike as your first attack on a boss then follow with Eagle's Claw you'll get a disorient pretty often. Basically you have to land two effects (disorients, holds, immobs, etc) to get them to work on a boss.
In PvP disorients don't last long and can be hard to land, but when they work they drop your opponent's toggles usually leaving them very vulnerable to your big hits. The short disorient can give you enough to time to land an Eagle's Claw for big damage and another possible disorient.
Just thought Id get a few peoples thoughts Ive got to res-pec my L50 MA/SR and Im a bit unsure about the last few powers to take. Not too concerned about slotting at the moment, I need to figure this out first.

I figure this gives me a strong PvE build, with decent PvP survivability no real tricks but a good, solid scrapper. The last three powers are a bit of a head-scratcher for me with three powers I can obviously go through the lists of either another pool or epic pool set, but not sure which one, although I know Im not going down the LBE and Energy Torrent route as they dont really fit the way I play the character (standard-issue suicide scrapper). Im not going for Hasten, as imho /SR scrappers dont need it if they grab quickness.
Thoughts would be welcomed, or opinions about other pool powers.
