The great thing about VEATs is that they don't suffer from not having a team. Their inherent is miniscule at best (something like +0.01 max end and something small for health? Its damn hard to find numbers) but the same benefits that buff teams are self buffs to.
I do personally dislike the Kheld inherents, because they do absolutely nothing for you when you aren't teamed.

I think this is why I get damn confused with Khelds....there are SO many choices, EVERYONE has a different build for them...=S

    Help with a PB

Trying to hang onto my lvl 19 PB, but she just keeps seeming more and more likely to be deleted.
But, after talking to some peeps in another thread, I whipped up a new build for her.
So, as a wise man once said, "If you want build advice, go to the advisors." Or something...

So, a person who is still a complete Kheldn00b begs for aid, oh shiny type people.

My AR/Dev/Munitions Blaster uses his snipe a lot. Very much as often as he can. The reason for this is simple - Assault Rifle has only two single-target attacks.
Burst, Slug, Sniper rifle. Thats three.
Although I know blaster maths is very simple, so you an be forgiven. The usual equation is, after all; Mob + Blaster = Dead

And the dead has the bonus of working both ways

Well, that in itself is a reason. Although that's usually brought out when people are sayig 'Stop powers doing KB'.

The base thing is, KB are put in sets for a reason, mostly as mitigation. The peole who complain about the KB are not the ones playing KB characters, usually.
They are complaining because KB is, somehow, ruining the game for them. Emphasis on somehow.

We get everything from 'Oh, they spread the spawns out', to 'Oh, I cant tank when people KB the mobs.' Both of which are tripe. If the spawn gets spread out, it's hardly hard to move forward a bit and chase down the flying mobs. And, as a tanker myself, I've never found KB to be much of a problem when tanking. The mobs are so firmly aggroed that they just run straight back to me, and into a well overdue pounding.

People have this huge and unexplicable hang-up that 'KB is bad!' when really it's not. KB is like a temporary stun or hold. While a foe is splatted on its back, it cant do anything. Sure, w/e auras and shields it might have are still up, but it's still not attacking. Also, in some cases, it IS like a hold, especially when a foe gets stuck in the terrain, and cant do anything till it gets up, which can take some time.

KB might be a bit annoying to some people, at times, but usually because it disrupts the 'usual way they play'. In other words, they get taken out of their comfort zone.
Any decent team will simply power on, KB or not. Only on teams which rely heavily on their 'cookie cutter steamroller' does KB ever become 'a problem'. When, really, it's not. It's people being unable to cope with slight change that is the problem.

  10. General rule of thumb etiquette:

    -Watch each others backs
-Listen to the guy with the star and/or the folks who are organising
-(So long as they aren't flailing miserably! )
    -Let people do their jobs
    -Do your job
    -Don't be a numpty

Numpty being smack-talking and bad-mouthing people and generally slinging mud to the point of being slung.

Oh, and if your a tanker, know how to tank We had a tank on out team with the most ironic name, because they, frankly, couldnt tank. Stoney/SS with no mud pots and no taunt. Ergo, no taunting. We had a controller or two, dark/dark fender, my scrapper and some blasters, so aggro was going pretty much everywhere. The tanker had no taunt capabilities and, to boot, didnt talk. At all.
What was hilarious was how the all turned on them, to the point of being kicked
(it was getting people killed, although I made a point of using Confront on anything that went after the fenders and trollers. I now love that power )

We then got a new tanker with lightning field. He was awesome, and massacring ensued ^^

They need to revamp the whole game/ start all over is what i think would be best.
But I just wanna name a few thing that i would like to see to keep me playing, 1. should raise lvl cap i say raise it 5-10 lvls each year. 2 fix some raids like hami well maybe the rewards(hami raid waste of time why still have it if no one dose them)3. the whole 6 slot crap is BS should atleast 12 slot so you could have 2 diff IO sets)4. lol more end game content 5. better rewards (say for t/sf should up the merits, lot of us dont plat 8 hours a day and takes FOREVER to try to Purp a toon out, and should beable to buy purps with merits, i have not yet to have a toon purped) 6. uhmm sure no one ever thought of this lol diff maps ( not just new zone/ content eaither gets so old when you end up seeing the same map over and over) 7. the PvP sucks still
At min that i what i would be lokking for atleast, could do that with out making whole new game. just look at other mmo's and take the good and leave the bad but with COX own twist.
I hope GR will end up bringing COX back just hope they dont spend to much time or not enough time on it if you know what i mean, and be to little to late, GR should of came out a year ago WTF. sorry all if i seems like a $#$%#@^% but i just get so disapointed when i log on. I just played on double XP weekend and lol i still didnt enjoy it a bit, BUT PLEASE MAKE THE GAME FUN AGAIN WOULD YA!!
Normally I would come up with some cutting remark to that sort of drivel.
But I think trying to read that just blew a few cerebral coils, and fritz a couple of diodes to boot.

  12. I just want them to reduce the end cost on the cones. Namely Flamethrower.

This has the potential...to screw things up so much that it's oh so not worth it on oh so many levels.

    Simple answer: No
Long Answer: No, just repeated a thousand times.
  13. Or at least the way they they are handled is.

I'll explain. For an arc, I decided to use a standard mob, but re-coloured and with new desciptions to fit the setting. I worked through, re-colouring and re-naming. To add a slight bit of variety, I added in custom foes. One minion, one LT and two Boss types, for variation and use as objectives.

Now, whenever I ran the mission, it would ONLY spawn the custom mobs. Minion, LT and Bosses. NONE of the re-worked standard mobs. In the end I saved their files to the test folder and deleted them from the arc, for now.
Doesn't end their though. Now, none of the LTs spawn. Instead I get the Bosses spawning. At LT level, unless Bosses are turned on when solo. And they do spawn as bosses. Difficulty wise, it's seriously broken. I had two spawn in a Medium difficulty patrol.

Now we come to the brokenness of the interface and user system. I had to delete the minion and LT from the custom group as a whole, AND move their files off Live. Because the system will not let me delete them from the custom group.
It simply says 'Base Group'. I mean, what the Hell? I want to DELETE them, is that too hard to pull off?

What's worse, is I don't dare mess around with the group too much. Because NONE of the customised Standard group are saved. It's all saved server side, NO data is saved to my folders. Which is plain stupid. Why not create a file for them, which saves the text and colour choices?

The last gripe. I added a standard boss into the custom group as well. Yet I can only pick Custom Mob enemies to use for the Boss Fight choices. I want to use the editied standard boss, with the name of the custom group and the custom biog. WHY is that so hard?

If this isn't broken considerably, then I don't know what is...

Edit: Re-running after some hammering of the arc, the Customised Standard LTs are now spawning again. Perhaps the patrol was slightly bugged after the I16 shuffle, no idea. Still doesn't resolve the problem that the customs over-write the standards, though.

Don't give it a serious thought.
I didn't realise it was up to just one person to decide such a thing?

I know that I would be happy with a less sylised and more straight forward fighting set. Yes, SS is great with the new animations, but it's still got the glowyness and the big fx stuff. Nor are the martial arts moves really the right kind of thing.

T'be honest, how does a mere martial artist fight alongside super heroes and villains? Hmm? How does a sword, or an axe or a club work? Surely a mace would break on, say, a Malta Titan? Hell, even a Clockwork prince.
But they do. Dirty fighting is a better way of putting 'Fighting in whatever way best serves to beat up your enemies.'

Ninjitsu's Blinding powder, for example. Placate is, in a way. There is a whole range of way's it could be done. Maybe a set with more de-buffs to it? -shrug-

There have been threads in the past where folks have asked for a whole new Base Editor.

To try to draw Dev interest, I guess we might want to state how we would like it function.

    (Again)

    My ideas are as follows;

Give us an empty squared grid, like we get now, but give us Wall placement control so we can build our own rooms. Whatever size, whatever door size we want. Have it where we have to specify the Function of the room for Item placement. (Tag the room "Control" to be able to place Control items, etc...) It would be nice to be able to click and drag sections of rooms, and "Tag" them to hold different items, or perform different Functions.

Give us elevation features on flooring sections that can be placed where we want them. Double sided. So that we can create thin floors at whatever elevation we want.

Give us Elevation Control of all Items. So that we can position them where we want them.

Give us Angle Control of Items, so that they don't rotate on 90 degrees.

Give us more control of the lighting. The Lighting Items should be adjustible, in lumens and color.

    Give us active Water effects.

Please contribute anything you would like to see in a new Base Editor to this thread. I know we are beating the same drum we have beat for years but, hey...we gotta keep trying.

Note: I know all of my suggestions are going to take alot of Code changing, and re-programing. They have said that the Base Editor needed to be re-worked, so that is what this thread is about.

    Thanks
    That all gets my /signed.
