Quote:Wasn't that way with the Nemesis event.I do understand, and apologize that we may be disturbing your game play for a short period of time, however the admin channel is what we use to be certain that everyone knows the event is happening for the duration of the event. Because these events are relatively spontaneous this year (I can't allocate 4-6 hours a day for the entire team for a month solid to schedule the events out) it's very important that everyone know a live event is happening.
Take solace in the fact that we are usually only present for 30-45 minutes. Also, keep in mind that some of the "admin chat" is actually done in the "zone admin" channel which only hits the map it's on.
Jus' saiyan. -

Using it to let everyone know an event's going on or servers are going down? Good.
Spamming us with ridiculous and unimportant shout outs and banter that gets inflicted on all channels, regardless of if you're involved or not? Annoyingly bad.
If you're going to horribly RP Nemesis, or do a shout out and chat it up with folks, please use Broadcast or any other form of chat. I understand you want to get word out that something's happening. But having Nemesis talk about his steam powered computer crashing, or having a rep give a shout out to [player name] on every player's channel, on all their channels, it just gets annoying and distracting from what players might be involved in.
This isn't the first time players have brought up this issue, either. -
She looks down at her translucent hands for a moment, as if unsure how to phrase what needed to be said. She decided the best of course of action would be to be as blunt as possible about it.
"A Rikti monkey got into your office. It pooped everywhere. Citadel's trying to clean it up, but he's just making it so much worse." -
Quote:This. Unfortunately with the way the iTrials were executed and how easily they can be destroyed by teams, nothing is really powerful, intimidating, or taken seriously in this game :\I'm just hoping that the big reveal is that the Praetorian Hamidon is scary as hell and not just another speed bump for us to show just how pathetic Cole was in that if he and his Praetors had decided to put all their power and knowledge into taking out Hamidon they could've done it.
I mean that's really the core of the problem. Cole believed wiping out all of Primal's superheroes in a blitz was the preferred option over trying to take down Hamidon. -
Nothing wrong with Dark Armor. I've got a Fiery Melee/Dark Armor brute. Love it.

Based on the red name banter Nemesis gave out last night, I don't think classy is the right word.
Next time a red name hops on Nemesis and speaks over the admin chat, mind making him more in character? Give a monologue about how we're all worthless, toss out some threats and call some players out, toss some insults out at the "pathetic" heroes and villains, hint at his master plan without giving away too much. Don't become a laughing stock -
I miss when Nemesis was threatening :\
His cheesy dialogue, although fun for a second, just got real old and annoying real quickly. Next time a red name takes his reins I wouldn't mind if he tossed out some legitimate threats, got into a monologue, or something. -
Concept art was actually drawn up of sleek and awesome cars for Praetoria. But I guess the devs thought it'd be a waste of resources to create new vehicles. Honestly, I wish they'd update the vehicles that drive around now. Make 'em bigger and normal looking. They look awful and apparently only tiny people can drive them.

((This is an Open RP thread that follows our characters during the events of the Nemesis invasion. Anyone's welcome to jump in and share their experiences or hop into someone's story unless the author specifies otherwise.))
Brass Canyon Part 1
"Citizens of Steel Canyon! Surrender to Nemesis or be annihilated!"
Gunfire and explosions echoed off the war walls as brass machines and Victorian soldiers marched the pristine streets of Steel Canyon. They poured out from sewer entrances, buildings, and some even erupted from the ground itself as mole machines burrowed up through the concrete. Their attacks were sudden and targeted anything and anyone that stood in their path to dominance.
Nemesis's taunts and demands blared across the airwaves, radiowaves, and from speakers on his machines. The villain wanted no one unaware of his coming.
* * * *
The sounds of battle nearly drowned out the cries for help from the civilians caught between Paragon's best heroes and Nemesis's toughest troops. They ran terrified, quickly seeking some form of shelter from the war taking place outside. News crews assembled to catch footage of the carnage while the Paragon Police Department deployed en masse to reduce casualties.
A majority of the fighting found itself taking place in front of Blyde Square, where the heroes each gathered and united to force Nemesis from their home. Each side shared powerful attacks with one another in an attempt to gain some ground. Neither side seemed to budge, both evenly matched with nothing yet tipping the scales.
As the battle raged, an older man limped away from the scene, holding a young boy in his arms. He found cover underneath one of the city's skyscrapers, sitting to catch his breath. He looked down at his young son. The boy was in shock and did not speak, his eyes were wide and filled with tears. He was only five and had never seen a conflict like this in his entire life.
The man silently cursed to himself before looking down at his mangled left leg. Bits of brass shrapnel were embedded in his shin. The pain hadn't set in just yet, but he could not continue running away from the chaos. The man desperately called out for any sort of help. He needed to get out of there, to protect his son at any cost. But the deafening noise of the nearby battle seemed to overpower the strength of his lungs, and he could not continue yelling anymore.
Suddenly, a large explosion rang out from above. Large chunks of metal and stone from the building that provided cover rained down and threatened to crush the father and son. The man looked up and caught a glimpse of what was coming their way. He quickly cradled his child, holding him closer to his chest as he huddled over, hoping to shield his son from the impact and protect him.
"This is it...!"
* * * *
A bright blue streak of energy raced at the debris, causing it to explode into a shower of dust and small pebbles, saving the father and his son from certain death. A man with golden skin and hair flew towards the pair, waving the dust away and patting dust off of his black t-shirt and blue jeans. He landed on the ground before them and knelt down, noticing the crying child and the injuries the father had sustained.
"Stay here for only a few more minutes. I'll go get help."
"Al...alright."
The golden man shot high into the sky, surveying the streets with glowing white eyes. He spotted an ambulance and waved his arms frantically, gaining their attention. The vehicle drove towards him before spotting the injured civilians. It screeched to a halt a few yards away, with a paramedic exiting and pushing a stretcher towards the pair. The father handed the paramedic his son as the golden savior descended to the ground once more.
"Thank you for saving our lives, hero. What's your name?" the father asked.
"Trust me, I'm no hero. But you can call me GE." The golden man smiled as he watched the paramedics load the injured father into the ambulance and drive away from the chaos.
"Nemesis, what is your plan. Why are you attacking?" he silently wondered. GE saw no more civilians, and was about to fly higher into the skies to get a better view. He only managed to rise a few feet before he found himself forced into the concrete with a loud thwack from behind.
Lifting himself back onto his feet, the once-hero turned around to be greeted with another strong punch from a massive, metal claw. The attack threw GE back several feet before causing him to skid and scrape across the ground. Slowly rising, GE managed to regain composure before looking up to see what struck him. It was none other than one of Nemesis's most destructive brass abominations, the horrible Warhulk.
"Of course. It had to be the huge, destructive robot that got the jump on me." -
It's awesome, and I love seeing Nemesis's threats and claims up in my Zone Event tab instead of just "Nemesis troops spotted in blah blah".

Cape mish is really easy to do, and takes, like, fifteen minutes.
Come on. -
The current series of Batman movies is ending with Dark Knight Rises. And Batman is a franchise that pretty much has to have both a series of movies and a cartoon series of some sort out at all times. I think it's a law somewhere.

Quote:I disagree. Kings Row is great and all, but visually it has 2004 graphics. It could definitely use some touching up with higher res textures. Higher res doesn't necessarily mean pretty and pristine like new AP. But if it gets new content in the form of vigilante/street level stuff, which I'd absolutely love, the zone really needs to be touched up here or there.Oh HELL NO!
Kings is just fine, graphically as it is. It's just so easy to blow past its content, which frankly I don't find all that great. Heck this is where all the Street Level heroes would hang out if we had that kind of game mechanic. Its home to Blue Steel and the PPD. Its arcs should reflect that more and the arcs dealing with the gangs need.... to be better?
Heck instead of a giant graphic revamp of the zone how about we just scrub most of the arcs and put in new modern ones. Ill tell you, in my opinion the last couple of issues new arcs have been pretty killer. It makes some of the older arc look really bad.
Plus PPD HQ NEEDS an interior. Turn that into a bustling police headquarters with officers working desks, processing gang members, interrogations in back rooms, etc. Introduce us to the chief of police, who can hand out possibly the finale story arc or a low level TF. -

Quote::\The audience wasn't totally ignored, but anyone asking about PvP never heard the end of "lolpvp" from the audience, and was told to stop asking about it by the moderating staff (Hit Streak, I think) and that PvP was specifically not being talked about at the pummit. Which is weird. The entire focus of the panels was to just talk with the players and not do big reveals, but oh no we can't talk about that!

Quote:Pretty lame reason to deprive yourself of some quality costumes, tbh. But whateves.I'm not butthurt or anything and I've actually purchased every single pack available in the NCSoft store and Paragon market. I was buying everything as soon as it was released without caring whether I was going to use any of these pieces. I left for personal reasons after the Gunslinger pack was released and recently came back. The first thing I did was log in game and purchase every costume bundle available. I ran out of points and before I could get some more, I read that thread about "sexism" in costume design and that other one about Dink's awesome effort to make pieces from the Magic/Steampuck/Gunslinger packs available to female toons. This was the thread in which the new policy was announce and when I made my choice to stay away from all future packs. So, just for the record, I have everything except the Gunslinger pack.

Gettin' back into Formspring. Set one up for one of my older heroes that I decided to start playing again. Doubt anyone here really knows/remembers the guy, but here's his link: Golden Exemplar
Edit: Also got Blaze Charge's up and running again. -
Eh. I could do without.
Wouldn't mind seeing the Blood of the Black Stream expanded on, though. And a Rikti EAT that covers how Rikti society is changing and how human society is evolving based on the Rikti, with them still being here and some even allies, would be awesome too.
