Quote:GET RID OF TRAVEL POWER SUPPRESSION; GIVE SUBSCRIBERS BACK THEIR SUPER-POWERED SUPER HEROES!!!
Travel suppression as it's implemented in cox could stand to be dialed back slightly.
The devs mistake is to think in terms of penalizing an integral part of your characters setup, rather then inventing ways (likely complex) to integrate, Super Speed, Flight, into an offensive/defensive option (think SS into a tornado stunning enemies, or Flying at sonic speed to your target dealing damage).
Suppression by and large was the devs fix for hit and run pvp, back when more then twelve players pvp'd. -

Glad you got a handle on those pesky pc issues Pep, we still have xp on the home desktops but win7 on the laptops and my wife in particular loves it.

Quote:Yet another vote for moving AT LEAST SOME of the arcs to appropriate IN WORLD contacts. Honestly I assumed this would be happening regularly when they first announced AE.
Sadly MA arcs lack anything substantially different (read, interesting) from conventional mission content, to merit a separate contact.
Familiar maps meet familiar objectives, with pseudo intriguing story lines, which isn't to say there are no creative authors in the games community, there are simply limited tools to breath life into something less conventional then an average tip mission.
Player generated maps would be a start in that direction, using the base editor with some added features. ... -
Hola, I've had a fire/mace from the start of the game and have gotten a good bit a mileage out of it, and I still find it to be one of the more fun combination's to play, especially after the recent buffs (07-08) to war mace.
The added primary damage from f/a helps the mace, and the disorients and knockdowns from w/m provide good damage mitigation for fiery aura.
Overall I've played the pairing in most situations and found the two sets work well together.
Some pros & cons from each:
w/m pros
good attack speeds, some disorienting capabilities, accuracy bonus, moderate endurance use, heavy smashing aoe, strong s/t damage.
cons
moderate stun effects
Comparatively lacks a "wow" power ie total focus-knock out blow
weapon redraw
f/a pros
high overall resists, easily capping resistance to fire damage,
a buildup power, good self heal power which also offers resistance to toxic, a self +endurance power, a self rez, very good damage in blazing aura and burn plus minor aoe damg in consume
cons
no defense, low resist to cold damage, endurance intensive, no knockback resistance
Here's my f/m's current build to give you some ideas if you're interested. Have fun. :]

Goofing around with toons lately got me wondering what other Championite's do with character selection.
How do you arrange your characters, are your first 50's at top, is it by favorability, alphabetically, hero/villain, male/female... Maybe even list what they are/when they were created for the heck Ov it.
Share your smexy setup, you might find some common proclivities with your fellow Champs.

I'll throw mine out, the first three 50s created are tops and the rest are basically likelihood of use...I don't remember exactly what they all are atm. =B

We need an all stone tanks themed TT some month, tagline Get your rocks on, or something. Anywho I'll be there.

If all else fails, minor Incarnate Shards sub-components for constructing your Alpha Abilities can also be occasionally acquired off of level 50+ foes and level 50 players in PVP.
I got 8 shards in an hour farming the wall in Cim Sat......this thread makes my head hurt. -
Quote:It seems to me that tanks have the most difficult decisions to make when choosing what to put in the Incarnate alpha slot.
Not this tank, I'm going for recharge off the bat on a lot of my tanks, to be reevaluated with the rest of the incarnate system rolling out. -

Well, except for tanker tuesday's three and five year events, multiple zone instances to handle capacity both times. But other then that, go perc.

-edit, oh this is a no go perc thread, my bad. Go, whomever.. -
Heh that was a fun mission to put together, I should update it I haven't touched it in a couple years. Looks like you missed out on Myrmydon, but the pic of Ring strolling away after a beat down is giving him a chuckle somewhere I'm sure.
If the king of all blasters can't beat it solo likely no one can. -
Quote:I definately still use Consume on my FA/WM/EM tank. It is a great aggro tool because of its huge radius.
I like consume, and more then the end recovery I like how it mitigates damage for a second or two while it's being applied. If I could find a way to six slot it without losing anything important I would.
But it's definitely a personal choice rather then necessity. -
Quote:No it didn't. ED is wholly irrelevant to Inventions.
That it was two years later shows that they had no plan in place at the time and purely put ED in to cover their behinds with CoV.
To substantiate this point I remembered a late night of closed beta chatter with BAB a few years back, notice what he believed was the real force behind the Invention system.
Quote:[Beta Testers]Back Alley Brawler: honestly, and this is probably not something I should be talking about, but Statesman really didn't involve himself with CoH at all after he moved on to Marvel
[Beta Testers] Back Alley Brawler: I'd appreciate it if that didn't get copy/pasted on the forums
[Beta Testers] Night-Girl: What about the Market? I remember him coming out and defending Wentworth's in the I9 beta, first we'd heard of him in ages, and it came out after he made some statement about MUO needing an AH
[Beta Testers] Acemace: Was Wentworth's Statesman's idea?
[Beta Testers] Back Alley Brawler: he did get really involved with Issue 9, especially the invention system and the auction houses...but I think he had alterior motives
[Beta Testers] Silverspar: I knew it
[Beta Testers] Night-Girl: you think he was kind of testing the waters for MUO's auction house?
[Beta Testers] Back Alley Brawler: no, wasn't that
[Beta Testers] Night-Girl: can you say what you thought his ulterior motives were?
[Beta Testers] Back Alley Brawler: let's just say that Issue 9 was really the crux for a lot of things happening the way they did
[Beta Testers] Night-Girl: interesting.
[Beta Testers] Proton Sentinel: Yeah, the forums goers say that I9 was to try to jsutify ED and the GDN
[Beta Testers] Back Alley Brawler: I absolutely believe it was

I think most of us could agree that had they been able to roll out some the more recent issue features (even little things like the CoP trial being broken for years) the game wouldn't have gotten as stale to some of the base who moved on.
Also City of Villains, by Jacks own post buyout admission, was a large missed opportunity.
But, still the game marches on, hopefully for many more fun years to come.
