Consume or not to Consume

in my Issue 19 rebuild for my Fire/Fire is looking at some changes. I dropped Consume ( the old version ) and picked up Physical Perfection and six slotted it with two end mods. three health and one +End proc. That combined with Stamina. Numina Regen/Recovery, and a Miracle Recovery and another +End Proc in Stamina pretty much eliminated my end issues.

So I dropped Consume and picked up the new Burn. Now I see that the new Consume offers End debuff protection? However it still has a veyr long recharge timer ( which I have always hated about that power )

So for me the question is. Keep the extra end recovery and regen rate or go with Consume. I would still keep Physical Perfection but it would only have one slot to me a mule for the +End Proc.

Thoughts ????

I also just dropped Consume from my Fire/Stone. First off, I rarely used it, and when I did, I knew it wasn't going to be back for a while because the recharge is so damn long.

I did pretty much what you did. Physical Perfection helps a lot and if you get Conserve Power, you really don't need anything else. You can skip Consume and not miss it, if you cover recovery through other means.

Thats what I was finding. I rarely if ever used it, and the annoying thing was that the recharge is so long that it wasnt worth it.

I think I would much rather have physical perfection working ALL the time, than a power I rarely use working some of the time.

I get good mileage out of consume on my FA scrapper and FA tanker, but if you're doing alright without it I'd say don't worry about it.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

I am keeping it on my i19 Fire/DB tanker. Even freed from the need for the Fitness power pool, that is still a pretty tight build, especially given that I am going to have all the attacks and all the combos. Even after Tough and Weave are in play, I still don't have leisure for deep power pools.

For my fire/EM tanker, I don't know. Plenty of power pools are a necessity, especially given that the character needs Boxing and Air Superiority for an attack chain without long pauses. I may just do the usual and take more lowbie attacks.

(I want to keep Fitness. If we can't have double Stamina, I would make it over over as a wuxia style Acrobatics travel power, combining short bursts of faster Ninja Run, bursts of super speed, bursts of flight, and temporary hovers)

I have been exemplaring down and have been using consume. I dropped it for several years because of the long recharge. I still rarely use it. It may go away again, just depends on what I will put into its spot. The extra hitpoints and recovery set bonuses are nice....

I definately still use Consume on my FA/WM/EM tank. It is a great aggro tool because of its huge radius. The power I seem to not be using much is Focused Accuracy. I might drop Energy mastery altogether and just go Pyre, I could use Char more I think.

I like consume, and more then the end recovery I like how it mitigates damage for a second or two while it's being applied. If I could find a way to six slot it without losing anything important I would.

But it's definitely a personal choice rather then necessity.

I can't imagine not having the Pyre epic pool, so Consume is definitely staying for me.

I decided im going to respec into it right away and see how I like it and if I dont I will respec out with the second free respec.

Point of order: The Incarnate slotting that gives the large recharge bonus plus healing looks attractive to Fire Tankers. Consider that some of that recharge bonus will be reduced by the ED caps...but all of it will improve stuff that's substantially below the cap, such as one- or low-slotted Consume. So an Incarnate build like that could easily pick up Consume for emergencies with one of the one-slotted powers opened up by the Fitness Inherent change.
