  1. Surprised no one mentioned your ranged defense is way higher than needed, and really just being wasted.

    As others have stated, BB->SB->QS->BB->CS is KM's optimal attack chain for DPS. Repulsing Torrent really couldn't be a worse power for a scrapper. You don't need the Karma KB prot IO. Modifications ->>

    Defense is way to high (Can normally do fine with 45% Melee, Range, AoE). And attacks are really badly slotted

    QFT ^^^

    Focused Burst just takes too long to animate to make it worth it. Quick Strike's DPA (Damage Per Activation which is damage/activation) is higher than Focused Burst, meaning you would do more damage over time when using QS instead of FB. HOWEVER. I have not done any calculations if you put the Apoc proc in FB. It might increase your DPS enough to make it worth it (having 2 purple procs in the chain).

    Lowest HP cap
    Lowest resist numbers
    Highest damage
    Benefits most from +dam (Higher base = higher damage)

    Brute
    Lowest base damage (even lower than Tanks)
    Higher HP and resist numbers than Scrappers, lower than tanks
    Fury is nifty

    Tank
    Highest HP and resistances
    Easier to stack defense on (tanks get more defense from weave)
    Bruising is nifty
    Higher base damage than brutes, lower than scraps.

    If survivability is your main concern, do a Tank. If you value damage over survivability, go with scrappers. I myself would rather kill fast than survive a long time, and take 30 minutes to kill a spawn (exaggeration)
  7. First thing I do is check out the DPA of all the set's powers unenhanced. Then pick 3-4 of those powers and start fidling with putting them in different orders to find the best one. Next, i calculate what each power needs in seconds to recharge (usually add together activation times (keep in mind Arcanatime), then divide the base recharge by the needed recharge to get %recharge needed. (the powers themselves can get around 100% recharge mind you).

    DPS = Amount of damage done in the chain / seconds needed to execute the chain.

    I did the dps calculation with the gap in place, but again, its not really feasible, which brings BB->SB->BB->QS->CS to the lead.

    BB->SB->BB->QS->CS was what I figured as well when doing some DPS calculations. If I could some how find enough recharge to get SB to recharge in the activation of BB (which is a crapton of it) then BB->SB and then CS when its up is the best (i believe it will be BB->SB->BB->SB->CS).

    I just don't understand why and how people have difficulty with him. I also don't know why people need to invent elaborate strategies to defeat him. Never had a problem. The harder mission is with The Honoree and the Vanguard EB. Vanguard has some really nasty debuffs, and the honoree does Total Focus on yah.

  12. The build was far from optimal. And if the OP just wants to take a build and use it, if he uses that build he wouldn't suck, but be far from excelling.

    Many times when I search for builds, I poll 6-7 of them, wiegh the benefits of each one, and problems. And then I amalgamate them all. However, I don't think everyone can or wants to do that. I did hint on the fact that it could be tweaked and made better, but if the OP doesn't want to, it's totally up to him.

  15. Main reason for Shadow Meld is to counter Defense Debuffs (and to use before getting the PvP proc)

    I prefer Scorch for the faster animation time, and to use the less recharge needed chain of Incinerate->Scorch->Cremate. (Easier on the end bar too) YMMV

    As far as I know, and if PvP hasn't changed in a year or two (I believe it hasn't) then DM is fair, but not something to write home about.

    MA/Fire will do well, and is not something every PvPer and their mother uses. Eagle's Claw is a great PvP attack. Try MA/Fire/Pyre with a +recharge build to get Healing Flames up more often.

    DM is not that great for PvP. (Sould Drain needing targets, as well as Damage in PvP zones is calculated differently, mainly by the animation time of the power)

    Neither is SR or WP, though of the two, SR is decent with Elude up.

  22. Other notes: (I play Scrappers, Tanks, Brutes: Other AT's I really have little idea about)

    If your AT uses lots of Clicks (Regens, Illusion, Most Doms) +Rech will be very helpful. On a character that is easily soft capped (Energy Aura, SR, SD) +HP is very beneficial.
    If you start out with powers in your armor set that does Positional Defense, focus on Positional Defense bonuses (SD)
    If you have a toon with Typed Defense to start out with, go for Typed Defense Bonuses (Energy Aura, Invuln)

    If you can get 45% S/L defense but low Energy/Negative (Energy is the third most prevalent damage in the game) OR 30ish% S/L and Energy/Negative. Go for the 30% one and pop a purple candy when you need it.

    Mids itself can be a difficult tool to learn. (Having the totals tab clicked got me so confused when I started building, because I couldn't remove slots and choose levels for powers!). However, the new drag and drop feature has been a real blessing. Now you can just pick powers, regardless of the level the build is at, and then move it to a good level. So just start clicking powers! You can arrange them when your done.

    More Recharge means more times Rage is activated, meaning more time spent crashed not able to do any damage. Foot Stomp is a great AoE but if you throw in a second AoE, damage potential increases even more.
  24. Note: my only EA experience is with my DB/EA Brute, so my millage might have varied.

    I use Conserve Energy when I solo AV's and so would rather nothing be done to Conserve Energy in its place (the build up idea or some have even suggested making it a caltrops power??? :O)
