KM build critique

So I have a scrapper that I made and the build had to be done manually. I usually search the forum for the build and then try to improve but there was none for me to do that for this build. This was done manually....any thoughts? I tried to go as far as I could with the defense but with the secondary I couldn't find any powers that would increase the Resistance....I think I did pretty good?? No?

A data chunk would help emensley. Not everyone can get the data links to work for them (myself included). Having the KM/SR experience, there's a few things I could suggest, depending on what kind of cost you're looking towards. One thing I can see right off the top, though, is Repulsing Torrent. Unless you're really after the knockback from that power, Energy Torrent might serve you a lot better.

Well it looks good to me.

* I like the +6 to hit kismet. One of the things that I feel KM is lacking is decent to hit.

*After playing KM to 50, I stuck with repulsing torrent as well......I like the animation too much. What's up with that Hami slotting tho? Did you click on the wrong Hamis? Personally I'd put in two acc/dam and one dam/range and save yourself a slot. I just used 1 acc....to hit occasionally knock something down....I dont use it for damage.

* I went with an APP range power instead of focused burst. Again I like the animation some times but it was alot longer than my Mu Bolt and shorter range too.

* You may not need all of those melee attacks but it does make for easy PS damage building. Your quick strike could either be replaced with Hasten...also saving you a slot. And adding recharge for your attack chain w/o QS filler. Or if you really want it, take that extra Hami slot and put some sort of Acc into QS. It seems low on ACC to me. (So is Concentrated strike btw). Personally I hate missing....even went with the +ACC incarnate.

* Am I missing something on Practiced Brawler? Would think you'd want a recharge in there.

That's all I got.

There are plenty of Super Reflexes builds on the forums. The melee sets are usually interchangeable.

You went pretty far past the soft cap (45%) on ranged defense and left AoE a bit short of the soft cap. Slotting your set powers, Weave, Combat Jumping, and adding a Steadfast 3% defense and Gaussian's set should put you within one set bonus of the soft cap on all positions. The rest of your slots can then go towards recharge. You don't need a big buffer to absorb defense debuffs because Super Reflexes hits 95% defense debuff resistance easily.

You broke the rule of 5's on Luck of the Gambler sets and Global Recharges. You can't have more than 5 of the same set bonus in PvE.

You have too many attacks. You should only need 3 to make an attack chain if you get enough recharge. You will need Hasten in your build. Quick Strike is your lowest DPS power (aside from AoEs and the ranged attack) and should not be in the build at all. Focused Burst is lower DPS than Quick Strike and you probably won't need it. Your attack chain should probably be something like Concentrated Strike -> Body Blow -> Smashing Blow -> Body Blow.

Repulsing Torrent should be skipped. Take Energy Torrent from Body Mastery if you want a similar power. It won't knock enemies away from the fight and prevent other teammates from AoEing, plus it does more damage.

Practiced Brawler need recharge, not that Hami-O you have in it. It is your status protection power and should be left on auto-cast. You don't need the knockback protection IOs. Practiced Brawler takes care of that.

Elude should not be slotted with more than recharge, or a single mule. You don't even need Elude since you will be at the soft cap. Some people may keep it for fighting Devouring Earth or Nemesis, but they are not a major part of any level 50 task forces.

Edit:

Here is a Super Reflexes skeleton build I just made.

There are other ways to hit the soft cap. This just shows a simple and an efficient method that can be done using any melee power set. Instead of using the set bonuses, another pool power (like Stealth or Maneuvers) can be used to reach the soft cap. I'm not suggesting that you build your build directly from this. You may want the powers at different levels. The Gaussian's set does not have to go in Power Siphon. It can also go in Tactics or Focused Accuracy if you choose to take one of those.

KM's best DPS chain is BB > SB > QS > BB > CS, four attacks and one of them being the required Quick Strike. Smashing Blow, even at 144% Global Recharge w/ Hasten and the T4 Spiritual only drops down to 1.98/s recharge which is still .6/s too long to chain BB and SB back to back. QS has to be in the build to flip between. And, honestly, there's no reason to remove Focused Burst from the build, either. It may not be part of the chain, but its a solid ranged attack for picking off runners, and there's plenty of room in a KM/SR to include it.

I'm no expert on KM and I haven't done the math for every power set's optimal attack chain. Since you will be using Body Blow twice in your chain, focus on putting procs in that power.

I didn't go through the whole build, but I believe Repulsing Torrent takes knockback sets, which means you can slot the Force Feedback +Rech IO in it. I'd think anything that brings Power Siphon back faster would be a big help overall. Just a thought.

To be honest, you don't need that karma knockback protection in agile. With just quickness and slotting alone, you can easily stack practiced brawler on yourself. If you have a bunch of +recharge though you can probably get away with just one recharge in it.

Surprised no one mentioned your ranged defense is way higher than needed, and really just being wasted.

As others have stated, BB->SB->QS->BB->CS is KM's optimal attack chain for DPS. Repulsing Torrent really couldn't be a worse power for a scrapper. You don't need the Karma KB prot IO. Modifications ->>

*note* this build does NOT have enough recharge to run the optimal chain. I'll let you try to figure that out.

Also, +HP is very helpful for an /SR user. +HP is equivalent to +Res AND +Regen.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
