Unless they are broken... Maybe they are comming for RECHARGE. Dude that's it, the Devs hate recharge. How would this effect the recharge proc in footstomp?

Edit: and was Velour really taken?
  2. I'd like to dust off the old EM/ characters.

With the new stalker mechanics, it feels like they all basically got the old energy transfer power added to their power sets. Am I wrong here?

An almost zero activation/animation relatively high damage attack.

It may have been slightly overpowered at the time but now that the rest of the game has caught up. Please can I have ET back, pretty please.
  3. Mostly. Though on a tank it may seem like I'm not moving, it just takes that long to defeat stuff.
  4. But.. I guess maybe I misunderstood what is changing.

Flat% procs are being replaced by PPM procs for all but 120s, correct?

If so, I don't think they would penalize someone who is already using a proc at the flat% with the possiblility of decreased performance. That would be just plain silly.

That said, it seems all benefit for the majority of folks, a non factor for most of the rest and flame on my game is broke now for.. wait how is it worse if it's at least the same?

This seems reasonable. For the existing, non store bought enhancements, keeping at least the way they currently work with the possibility of a light buff from the improved mechanics.

You might be suprised how many reward merits are out there.

As a casual vet player I had over 9,000 reward merits. Half of which came from a 32 Super Packs (24 + 8 singles). And while I didn't invest heavily in out of favor purples or PVP ios let just say I'll never have a character without a full ATO set, a 3% def, a numi, a miracle, 6% acc and as many 7.5% lotgs as I can cram into a build.

    It kinda felt like cheating.

I did buy waaaaay too many arch type enhancements in anticipation (2-3 hundred at 1-2m each).

Oh I forgot, good guide. The odds and expected returns are nice to see.

    Tanker Damage

For the non level 50 characters:

While leveling, say pre-40, frankenslotting has big benefits. Set bonuses really aren't worth chasing onesie twosie. IMHO. Frankenslotting can make the most of those limited slots. Possibly achieving in 3 slots what would have taken 4 or 5 of a particular set.

As far as increasing damage specifically:

First: Accuracy. Misses do not increase damage. Missing 1 out of 3 is basically -33% damage. I've heard around 60% acc enhancement for PVE can be sufficient.

Second: Enhancing to just over 90% damage. Much more than that may not be worth chasing as it will start to experience 'diminishing returns'.

Third: Recharge. Once you get around 90% in damage then recharge becomes important. Hitting a target 3 times in the same amount time you would have hit it twice is a good increase. (150% times the damage I think)

Last: Red inspirations. While not a fan, they are very effective boosts.

Bear in mind endurance usage. If we can't activate an attack that's not helping either.

Also, pvp has some nuances that benefit damage procs. But that is another story.
  10. Converters don't make them account bound?!

Okay, now must rush home and play with the converters before this gets squashed.

As far as ridiculous price swings go, there's always some jackass with waaay too many billions to care what they pay for something they want right now.

I bought sooo many ATOs, purples and such preparing just to pimp out my toons.

It would be ironic/epic if the email system were to crash tonight...
  11. It should be possible.

I myself play using a PS2 controller (that's 14 buttons plus directional sticks) and a mouse only to click on things. A number of folks are doing similar. Not being in front a computer monitor might help with your ergo issues. The Wii controller won't have as many buttons but you could probably figure out how to make it payable.
  12. It's so much drama. Not mad, just disappointed.

Still a clock is a clock. 7am is 7am regardless of DST especially when spelling out specific time zones.

It's not like this is year one.

To make this right: I insist on free exp when logged off and the ability to acquire an exp enhancing ability.
  13. Welcome to what an Energy Melee stalker used to feel like.

That out of hide assassin strike is the old energy transfer.
  14. Trick?

It seems straight forward. Defeat 'em both at the same time.

Finished it 3 times on pug teams. One I guess failed as we were unable to defeat them at the same time. Defeated one then the other.

    Two taunters helped.
  15. EM!! Jumping cotton candy spin of puffiness ftw.

Seriously though. Just increasing the speed slightly on a couple of the powers would make these more fun to play. And isn't that what its all about? Wouldn't need aoe if we could hit multiple targets in a reasonable time frame.

  17. [QUOTE= somehow I find that I need more accuracy to be effective, compared to my other two brutes. [/QUOTE]

Level 30 - See if you can get yourself some Single Orgin enhancements. Use the 'black market / wentworths' and you should be able to get them for a decent price if your not in a hurry.

I personally would rather hit more often than hit harder and miss sometimes. 2 Single Origin accuracy enhancements is my normal minimum. Then an endurance reduction or damage depending on the power with the goal of 2 Acc 2-3 Dam 1 End or 1 Recharge.

This could change when you get into Invention Origin enhancement sets but for now 2 single origin accuracy enhancement would be a priority for me starting out.
  18. So what I'm hearing is:

    Comparable over time.
Fire is really not that far behind.
    Slightly / Ahead

    ...for damage.

It seems that the damage is delivered a little differently between the two. Fire is a smooth flow of damage. Meanwhile super strength seems to come in spikes and then the opposite of spikes for a bit, before spiking again.. Super strength can be a bit of a roller coaster. An experienced SS'r is just managing the ups and downs to an extent that those around might not even notice.

As has been mentioned SS's advantage is that the targets aren't hitting back as much.

Rage, I've never liked it either. Great boosts but nasty penalties. I have a couple SS 50s but it's love / hate. I've even tried to build them without taking rage.. less to love.

In PVP on a /regen character I could easily go toe to toe with a SS healing after each of the big blows. Versus a Fire I could stand there for a bit but it would just get too hot and damage taken would eclipse regen and healing. Fire - definately strong.

For AOE these days Electric and Titan feel strong.

The sets are all pretty dang good with a handful that have great min/max potential.

If someone isn't into the whole min/max at level 50+4 it really is just play style preference. What we individually like and even if it's visually appealing. Spending hours making the ‘clinched fist pose’ of doom may be effective but man it can get old..

As an alternate. If you are looking for the BOOM BOOM BOOM damage without rage crashes checkout Stone Melee.
  19. Welcome back!

Now buy something!! Do it for the game!

I wonder what it would be like to start over?
  20. In health. Most bang for the buck. (a big reason exemping down)

    Numina: +Regen/+Recovery
    Numina: Heal
    Regen Tissue: +Regen
    Miracle: +Recovery

Can drop the Miracle if can slot it in another or only have 3 slots.

The only time I don't do this when min/maxing is if a 6 set Numinas works elsewhere in a build.
  21. Welcome back!

First, you might just be rusty. A character created waaay back with say just single origin enhancements should perform basically as well now as it did then, not taking into account any 'balancing' of powers.

Did parts of the game get more difficult? Yes and no... maybe. The new content you are playing may have different vulnerabilities and strengths that you are not used to. Praetoria can be pretty tough.

At level 17 - to be able to challenge the foes at the level you want, you may have to adjust.

    - Use the in-game market 'trading house' to upgrade from DOs to SOs. (this is a great bump)

    - Use inspirations. Don't horde them. Use them as you get them. Don't have an empty tray but never have a full tray. We are just missing out on the next one that could have dropped because our tray is full. (I hate inspirations but they work, 3 reds + 3 purples or 3 oranges can really change a tough encounter)

    - A different archtype? If you're solo and want ranged maybe a Corruptor is more your style. Blasters are effective but squishie. A Corruptor might be a nice balance.

    See you out there!
  22. It works good. A resit debuff is sort of a dam boost. Right?
