I was in PI-Instance 2 which subsequently dominated the Invasion and we helped Instance 1 who were getting overwrought with a lot of mobs. I really enjoyed it, I guess I can see the no reward thing being a big put off - especially simple Event ones but you never know it might happen again.

An absolute blast, I thoroughly enjoyed the carnage of the Invasion. On a non-in-game related note, a very big thank you to Beastyle, Corsair, Avatea, Freitag and others for organising and aiding the enemy. It was sublime, for me.

It would be nice to incorporate a more animative or emotional response, especially with all the "Rarr <insertnamehere> is mad, I smash" and nothing happens. I like that Marauder jumps about after a while, it would be nice if this was randomized as it loses purpose after many runs.
Perhaps they could add a Fury bar like Brutes whereby Damage increases as Health decreases, a sort of maddening effect for villains or a last stand effect for Heroes.

A small stickynote: Fire Ball, even if you are not farming, and Burn/Blazing Aura in general works wonders with Reactive Incarnate Slot due to the DoT and tick count. Not sure if you have Going Rogue for these though.
Fury -
They didn't really deflect much away about the Recipe Storage in bases, of course bases have limited function in storage as it is currently so I can see the possibility - only problem would be mass hoarding.

I watched the UStream from 6PM(Scotland) till 12.15(Midnight) and my intention shifted from interest in the server status to the developers. I really enjoyed every bit of it, brilliant UStream ladies and gents.
Never encountered or seen a face until now, massive thanks to Zwillinger; Arbiter ?; Black_Pebble; Beastyle; Freitag; TheNet; War Witch; Tunnel Rat; Jay; David Nakayama; Second Measure; Dr Aeon; Dark Watcher and everyone during the chat! Thoroughly enjoyed it all: Cheese(WW), Old Spice Deodorant(Jay), Comic giveaway(David), Hijack(Beastyle, TheNet, Freitag), Tunnel Rats favourite part of the game(Can't say!), Black_Pebbles neverending lunch, I'm from New York; wait your from New Jersey(DA & DW) and the Arbiter ? blasting the office with the nerfgun.
EDIT: Big thanks to the engineers, up since 4.30AM their time! Brilliant job everyone.
Thank you for a great 6.5 hours!

I would foresee that, and hoping for, with the new list you would not be the only one in beginning anew on Union so you may find there will be a considerable number of new low levels - again of which I can only hope. It might go in tandem with your times since I assume you play along US times whereby they may be on Union too now, weird to say that!
I play top-end now and I rarely have trouble organising something along those lines, but I'd advise you to go for the low level choice and see how it feels. Joining the new channels, you can get an estimate of the level of activity your looking for!
Good luck and hope to see you around Union.

My main took a year to reach 50, he was a PureTank so I could only Jab up to Level 26.
Nowadays, it takes merely hours for me to go to 50 really.

+Rec is a given for Cold, in my opinion. There are lots of other ATs that can softcap quite well without too much effort, and principally the primary feature of Nerve - accuracy - is not entirely great since your powers should be slotted to a reasonable degree. Higher accuracy will unlikely be as beneficial as the other Alpha Slots.
With the defense, VR Core Boost, 2/3 of 20% is only 13.33..% boost which is not really that great in my opinion.
Spiritual's primary boost of +30%, VR Core Boost 2/3 of 45%, is far more efficient for a cold. As others have said, it brings your attack chain up to speed.
Fury -
With your perspective in mind, I messed around with your original build a little. I could obtain softcap to S/L/E/N/Ranged, and I could probably get F/C up higher since S/L was at 53 and E at 58% so there is a lot of room for change. I think you can maintain that recharge, with softcap to S/L/E/N and say 40% to F/C. Considering my main tank has softcap to all but psi (at 20%) thats really impressive. It also means your ranged can be your backup for psi attacks.
I did however use Scorpion Shield to do so, but that level of defense I just mentioned is extremely survivable.
Fury -
I concur with DSorrow's points, namely getting Scorpion Shield is a great boost to softcapping S/L/E unless you do not have Going Rogue. Softcapped to Ranged is good if you maintain that during combat, AoE is simply manoeuvrable but bonuses to E/N won't be as efficient as S/L since the attacks generally have two damage sets to it. I'm not particularly sure about your power choices at their levels so I will assume your playing top-end - Level 50:
- Infrigidate needs far better slotting, combined with Benumb it should be a major part of your power cycle. Recharge/Accuracy should be primary focus - Defence Debuff if you wish to maximise the power.
- Gladiator Armor is not neccessary for an Cold/Ice, there are far better efficient ATs for that IO. 2.5b+/30 A-Merits is just not worth it.
- For what it is worth, I'd bring your purples in as early as possible but you'll need to reconfigure your slotting levels as your early powers have late slots.
- I quite like Frostwork on a Cold Defender, you can achieve it easily on 3 allies, but it is your preference.
- Your toggles have little Enduration Reduction, and while your Heat Loss is 10 seconds away from perma, Hasten at 2s, 1.58/s Endurance/Consumption will be noticeable non-combat unless your going for Cardiac Core Boost.
- Using Frost Breath will bring you closer to your foes so you may wish to re-consider that power choice, even with 60% RES to S/L.

Quote:You can count Nirvana too, no idea how many attempts however. Ah the days of new-born CoV are sorely missed.I feel your pain.
I didn't realise another supergroup other than EVIL and Violaters had done the Cathedral of Pain. They were the days lol.
Best of luck, feel free to add me to your global (@Max Powerz). I only ever seem to be able to get on in the evenings now.
I have seen your Defender around Atlas, I don't know if you have got a SG yet. You could always refer to the channels of 'Union Chat';'Union Task Force';'sals badgehunters'; etc. You'll find quite a lot of people within the 'Union...' channels, I would say it is the primary communication tool here.
I would say this server favours teams substantially, but that is not to say solo is disregarded. A lot of the population are on at night, or weekends so you shouldn't find a problem.
Pleased to see a new face, enjoy Union.

Quote:I knew it, it was you all along. Confound those flipping flippers flipping my pancakes!Too bad the market haters will just assume it is the flippers stopped flipping them or some other silly thing.
I think people are not aware of the ramifications that new Issues have on the market, some of the things that happen are unforeseeable. Such as the plummet then rise contrast of the posters observations here. AE just magnified the effect invention salvage, or really anything at this point of explosion, is influenced by.

All I do is exit and try again, I have been stuck on the loop a few times but it seems, for me, that closing the updater and starting it again works.

It's awfully sad to see another good player leave Union, however I don't blame you at all Damz. I would almost be following you straight through that door, but I think I've played this game to it's potential. I'm not hijacking this thread to an "I'm leaving, gav meh what I wantz nao or else". There was plenty of that in the EU forums, I'll lose my forum posting tommorow, so you can all get some peace.
I hope the servers do get a list merge, and if so I'll be right back into it.
As a local man said; from his Cymbeline:
The game is up.

Quote:That has become the principle way of vendoring now, I really do doubt anyone sells things at the shops - other than for particular methods. However, you must admit that if one were to avoid the market or rather just not sell on the market, say from a pre-market perspective i.e Pre-<insertMarketIssueHere>, that obtaining a single billion was pretty much obscene.... I've got a level 46 who hasn't "played" the market with something like 400 million. Are we going to need to do a version of the 1-10 challenge that goes 1-40? Sell everything at wents for 1, do 50/50 solo/teamed, see what you get, something like that?
Selling all your items on the market from Level 1-50 will grant you a substantial amount of influence/infamy, and 400m doesn't seem too off the mark. However seeing things from a few non-marketeers perspective I understand how that value of 400million can plummet to 40million if one were to simply sell to a shop. My point is not in arguing, but simply to alleviate the vast difference in market/non-market principles.
Fury -
Quote:I don't think that you are quite grasping his/her point, the devs have always advocated the markets as an optional piece of the game, and whilst it is practically unavoidable, it can be outwith normal gameplay - to a degree. MegaJoule is attempting to explain why for some people 100m is quite reasonably a lot of finance in the game. I understand why other people say 100m is a lot, I remember my first few 50's only tracked 10-20+million, well before any possible influence sink. If I wanted to simply enjoy my character I can whole-heartedly say I'd happily avoid the market and as put by someone else: play the game, your mashing the point that the market is crucial to one's gameplay which is convoluting the concept of <100m finances.Positron's Blast recipes are part of the optional invention system.
Or do you think you should be able to cherry pick the rewards of the optional system without any other engagement?
If you don't like the optional system, stick to SOs- they still work fine.
If you want the rewards of the optional system however, you'll probably need to USE it.
Ironically if it was not for the market, and inventions obviously, I severely doubt that obscenely rich would escalate greater than 2billion proven that the only source would be farming.

Quote:Considering they have two other languages to cater for: German/French, which are both provided up top on the EU page, I really don't think there is any defending a lack of information due to translation time-loss. To the best of my knowledge, Avatea is brilliant with the three server-languages, but it's pretty extreme to ask her to translate everything from the NA into them, there should be other people for that.Once more, I think it's related to having to have anything that is posted there translated into two different languages. Having said that, you'd think they had enough time for doing that by now... guess people are still busy with GR and new in game stuff.
Fury -
Obscenely rich is likely defined in my opinion as the point where you don't post here a SS of your bank, for reasons other than to the stretch ones ego, "ebilness" or whatever.

Quote:As did I, and my blind loyalty almost went beyond patriotic words, shall we say.Damn, my inner sci-fi geek hoped I'd logged into a future version of this forum and this was about the football

Quote:Most likely guessing your sure your account details are correct. Have you tried logging into the Master Account in PlayNC site, and confirming the correct password/username.European City of Heroes? Just checking, but are you opening the correct program and not the US version (that is, if your account is an EU account and not US account)?
In C:\Program Files\City of Heroes (if this is where you installed it), do you see:
cohupdater.eu.exe
?
If you have done this and it is correct, then the only log-in problem I foresee, as it happens a lot, is that you have the NA updater parameter and have not added the EU subscript to the Properties/Parameter.

Gibbs(Australia) had a good few catches the other day, can't remember the match - I think it was Pakistan.
My money is on Australia, I feel they have a bit of momentum with them at the moment.

Personally I just don't see the attraction of Elec/SD, especially the splash you have to make to get it to that level. I really encourage a Fire/SD if your going to be spending, Elec/SD was FoTM back in I16 when everyone just farmed AE, excluding the MM brokededed farms.
Fire/SD > Elec/SD.

There hardly bursting at the seams are they though..

Quote:There's a common misconception amongst players that frankenslotting is cheap, if you want a basic, just above par-SO build then sure the IO's you will need for frankenslotting is cheap. However, good frankenslotted builds use the Tri/Quad enhancements out of each individual set which coincides with being the dearest IO of the set - excluding any good "Chance...". Then again, that's assuming Level 50: IO set frankenslots, I'd say Fire/SD is a bit too intricate to be frankenslotted efficiently. Either go with SO's or look to invest up to 200-300m for a good build, or quite literally break the bank to make an extreme Fire/SD - which personally are like gods.I find that it's often cheaper to frankenslot than it is to use 25 common IOs.
