Yeah, it is. Sadly, I can't claim credit for that one, but hey, I'm a Villain. Whatcha gonna do?

In before Mod08 gets his Anti-Zombie hammer in here though

Quote:It's also totally disregarding things like, y'know, 'Free Issues' and stuff? It works great, if you treat it like the Devs could do infinite vet rewards without any impact on other stuff. That was my reading of the suggestion, and I also like it. It's less "lemme haev yur vet rewardz nao!" and more "Let's make the vet system better!"

Quote:I wish SS had a 'No glow' option...I like the screen shudder, but I hate the random glows my Troll gets when punching stuff. What has been said before is that powers with "iconic" effects that don't actually model real visuals can have the option to disable them. Strength doesn't glow, but Super Strength glows because it needs to "show" it's super strength. Similarly, having quick reflexes doesn't make you glow, but the blue effects are iconic. Those were given "No FX in PvP" options.
I was also said that powers with "simulation" effects that model real, actual effects WOULD NOT be given options to disable them. You don't have electrical shields without electricity, you don't have fire attacks without fire and you don't have energy blasts without energy. This is by design. -
Quote:Aha, roger thatIf I remember correctly, it's not power animations that need to be redone, but rather combat modes, the transitions between them and the transitions from them into the stances powers "expect." Ninja Run already does this, so it's doable, and BABs actually did say that he may, at some indeterminate point in the future, look into adding power use with Walk when and if it were actually scheduled.
This I believe is a technical limitation. Walk uses, if I'm not mistaken, the "disable_all" state, which almost all powers are tagged to be unusable under just by default. So instead of going around and manually retagging each of the hundreds of powers to be specifically exclusive with Walk, they simply used the tag that's already built in. That way, they don't have to chase down bugs, like some obscure temporary power which shouldn't be usable with Walk but was missed and remains untagged. -

It depends if people are refering to Purple sets or Purple inspirations. The two tend to share the same shorthand.

Sorry, I can't agree with that. It'd just introduce MORe stuff that people would go 'Want noaw!' for.
And no, Im not a 6+ year vet. I still dont have the 60 month badge and City Traveller. Do I want it? Hell to the yes! Can I have it? Yes...when I hit 60 months.
Thats fair. And thats the way its gonna stay. Cos the Devs have stated before that paying for Vet time ahead of when its due is never gonna happen. -
Actually, I cant quite get my head around why armours dont work with walk. I mean, attacks I understand, but armours? Its like another layer on top of your costume. It works with all the emotes and stuff as it is, so...why not walk?
Having walk and armous would be nice, I admit, especially on my Nictus, who tends to float around in Cloaked form as it is

Quote:Which effectively negates the entire point of the veteran rewards. They are paying for just the content with being on three months, they are not getting the game time, AND they can not get it all at once. People who stick around will still get it for free especially if they have been here from the start.
Veteran rewards are only paid for content in that you have to have been subscribed for X ammount of time. Its a reward for sticking with the game. Its also the one and only 'Fair' system of reward in the entire game. -
Because for that to happen BaBs would have to animate every single power in the game to work with walk, there would been to be new walks with weapons done...
Walk was given to us as a side project that had been worked on in his own time. There is a rather long list of reasons why its not possible. Its mostly all technical. -
Quote:Did you bother reading the multiple other thread where this has been suggested before, and all the reasons given as to just why it has been shot down in flames every single time?Oh god people, I am trying to help City of Heroes in general. If anything cascading rewards would severely amplify continual membership.
Did any of you read them entirely, just checking? Or did you just read the tittle and have a knee jerk reaction.
You can polish a pile of crap all you want but, underneath it is still, by dint of being, a pile of crap. -
Paragon City, MAGI headquarters:
"What do you mean, didn't check?" one of the higher ups was almost shouting, looking around at the path of wreckage.
"S-sorry, master, he gave no signs that the bonds were weakening-"
"Of course he wouldn't, he's a bloody vampire!" the man snapped, pinching the bridge of his nose. "He didn't happen to say anything, did he? No maniacal parting threat? They tend to be good at that..."
"No, sir. Well...he did say 'Thanks for the fun, but being chained down isn't my thing' I think...Sir, he didn't actually kill anyone. He just...well, got us to blast up the fixtures by accident..."
The mans superior sighed. He was starting to think that trying to use a powerful vampire as a weapon for good had been a misguided idea inspired by one too many movies. And, ironically, the outcome was becoming similar...
Paragon City, Steel Canyon:
Leon sat on the window ledge of a skyscraper, smoking with a broad and pointy-toothed grin on his face. Free, at last. MAGI had been fun at first, but their 'deal' had become almost crippling in the last few months. Allied Vampires weren't out of the question; hells, he'd served King and Country enough while back home in England.
But it was always on thier terms, not bound to service. Being bound, as he had said in his parting shot to the MAGI staff, was not his thing. Although he could always charge extra for it.
The little joke to himself made him chuckle, tapping cigarette ash onto the distant streets below. He looked up at the quick knock on the window beside him. A young woman dressed as some sort of secretary was giving him an almost panicked look.
"Are you alright out there, sir?" she asked as she opened the window. "You're not going to...jump, are you?"
Leon smiled, looking her up and down. Spectacles, ginger-blonde hair, a pleasant face and not unatractive legs... He gave her a wink that made her blush.
"If you asked, my dear, I'd probably say how high," he quipped, standing up and flicking the cigarette out into the void. "Now, this is going to sound incredibly cheesy, but...May I come in? Heh." -
Given how stupidly locked up some contacts are Redside (To get Naylor you have to unlock Mavis first withing her level range. If you dont, your stuffed, because you then need to do Psimon Omegas arc, and he WONT talk to you, EVER, if you didnt do Darla's arcs.) this gets a healthy /signed from me.
Although not to the using inf part. Whatever anyone says, Inf in both forms IS money. Given what its used for these days, there is no way in hell you can escape that. By missions makes sense, by money does not. -
Necro'd or not, that still looks really damn nice...
/signed -
I'd certainly /sign lengthening them. I think a friend worked it out, and the Game world would be in about...2115 or something by now? Either way, it's way, way too fast.

I think they'd be up for giving an option to turn off 'glows' and suchnot, like the old dark armour used to have. I think theres an option called 'NoPulse' or something, which stops the dark-light pulse thing.
But they have said that certain sets, like elec and dark, will not get a NoFX option, due to elec and dark being integral parts of those powers. If they allowed for those to turn off, they might as well just never make FX for armour sets ever again. -
Yup, Handbooks down again. I can always tell, cos my avatar here (which is hosted on handbook) stops loading =[

Quote:True, and that sucks badly, IMO. It also sucks that the website has an EU and US version and, annoyingly, the US side looks better, is kept more up to date and is generally better made.Get a trial key (oh wait, all the trials go to the american server),
Untrue. I have an empath on Union, and she manages just fine.Quote:then come back to me and say to me it is still fine for a team build such as a pure empathy defender. (I'm sure you can manage with a solo character).
Less teams I will *shrug* on, because my hours atm dont allow me to really experience it much. I still do get PuGs though, although more so at weekends when I have decent net access.Quote:[b]Population Wise the Eu community is at a new low:
- Less then 80 people online server wide in Prime Time which results in empty zones, and trouble finding teams
- Some badges are just impossible to get due to the lack of people (such as the rikti mothership raid badges)
Ship Raids are completely untrue, I know Friday is Unions designated 'Beat the crap outta the Rikti' day.
True, and I do not approve of these decisions either. If EU is going to keep getting the short end of the stick like this, then something like a Server List merge is pretty much necessary. Because there is NO incentive whatsoever to own an EU version of the game. The fact that the Trial page leads only to a US version only backs this up.Quote:A total lack of communication from ncsoft resulting in:
- 2 missed boxsets in a row with a lame excuse about european users using broadband.
A counter excuse has already been given, there are still plenty of Europeans that prefer retail copies/don't own broadband. NCSoft just doesn't want to take a possible financial loss (which is perfectly understandable since they try and make a profit, but they should have said so and not make up an excuse and lie to the community).
- A american only pre order bonus, which if it doesn't release for the EU in a booster pack, will be the start of a gap in content between the US and the EU.
I didn't actually know that. I just assumed that all deletion was permanant, wherever you are. That, however, makes me VERY angry.Quote:A change in the way European Support and American Support operates:
- For example: it is not possible to restore deleted characters trough EU support staff, reason given is that it is not possible, but US Support does it for the American players.
Upon providing this to the EU support staff they still refuse to restore characters.
Technically true, because while we have the same number of slots per server, having more servers obviously increases the ammount of slots, free or paid for.Quote:Difference in:
- Available amount of Slots
- Available amount of Servers
Yet the monthly fee we pay is the same as the Americans.
And I think due to the conversion rate the EU actually pays MORE for their subs than the US does, not 100% sure on that though.
I will agree with that.Quote:A total lack of any form of community communication from red names other then:
- The same, repeated soon(tm) or it is being looked into replies.
We still don't know why it isnt possible to reverse the old US->EU transfer techology.
It is old technology that is in place, saying it is not possible with the current servers is a lie, because it is because it has been done in the past.
When they released the European boxset, we where promised a identical expirience to the American release of the game, something that hasn''t been true for a long time anymore.
As a european, I feel that ncsoft sees the european community as nothing more then a mine, they can drain dry before closing it all together. Our love for the game, and the few friends that we have left on the servers is all that is keeping us together.
I would also once more call for attempting a server list merger. I dont see any actual downside to it, other than 'technical difficulties' which is, frankly, part and parcel of running an MMO in the first place. US players get a few more servers with slots for free, EU *finally* gets them all opened up, and there is no need for EU/US codes that can lead to clogging up support when they invariably go wrong, because there would only be one client.
Correct me if Im wrong.
