Power customization: Disable glow/effects
I have a couple of characters I'd like that on.
On the other hand, I suspect the PvPers would like it all off so no one could tell what they were doing or what they had running. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the decision not to allow turning things off.

I believe some powersets have the option to turn the effects off (in PVE only). Willpower, Regeneration, Invulnerability, and Super Reflexes all have the option IIRC. I don't believe any of the elemental armors have it, but Dark Armor allows you to no longer completely obscure the character model at least.

I think they'd be up for giving an option to turn off 'glows' and suchnot, like the old dark armour used to have. I think theres an option called 'NoPulse' or something, which stops the dark-light pulse thing.
But they have said that certain sets, like elec and dark, will not get a NoFX option, due to elec and dark being integral parts of those powers. If they allowed for those to turn off, they might as well just never make FX for armour sets ever again.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I can't help but disagree with that statement, even if Devs made it; most of the visuals that are used on several of my characters are practically required to make the 'look' for my characters, since I build them to 'blend', or better, with the abilities.
Even if they made a 'No Visual' option for every ability in the game, they'd have a ton of people using the effects. I wouldn't be the only one, I'm sure, who thinks it's neat to have such customizable abilities.

Ah, the division's already there, then? Good to know, thanks.
And, yeah, I did finally notice that some of the powers can be shut off. Just my luck of the draw that I use few of those power sets (or I'd have probably noticed).

I agree with the above. It would be useful for a lot of people for this to be implemented, but I personally make my costumes around my power choice. It's the reason I only use yellow lightning on my elm/ela tank so it matches Super Speed.
/signed thought because I do like the idea. It would be PvE only though.
What has been said before is that powers with "iconic" effects that don't actually model real visuals can have the option to disable them. Strength doesn't glow, but Super Strength glows because it needs to "show" it's super strength. Similarly, having quick reflexes doesn't make you glow, but the blue effects are iconic. Those were given "No FX in PvP" options.
I was also said that powers with "simulation" effects that model real, actual effects WOULD NOT be given options to disable them. You don't have electrical shields without electricity, you don't have fire attacks without fire and you don't have energy blasts without energy. This is by design.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Well, I don't know if this will be read or considered by any devs, but it's worth a shot.
In the power customization screen, you can select the colors for your powers that glow or have some kind of effect. But there's no option to disable the effect!
My technology brute looks bada$$ in his costume... but this glowing powers really seem to make his camo pointless. His electric armor sends colored "zaps" up and down his body, and the "static shield" power makes him look like a silly, smoky ghost.
Plus most of the auras available are either redundant due to the electric armor effects, or they're too contrasting, or become unappreciated/unseen entirely.
How about an option in the colorization screen that allows you to disable power effects?
