Quote:We certainly care.Yep, he announced it a few weeks ago on the french board. He got offered a job somewhere else, and he took the offer. Now there doesn't seem to be anybody in the OCR that speaks a single french word, and even though most of the announcements are still translated, our WST thread hasn't been updated since december (and that's just an example).
So anyway, it's really not the first time that the french community is left alone, but in the past we've always had Avatea as a "backup" community manager (even when she worked on Tabula Rasa, she was hanging around the french CoX boards). And since they searched for quite some time before finding 7deCoeur, we're really wondering if we'll ever see a french community manager in the future. We have threads discussing the issue on our boards... but who cares?
There's a lot of questions surrounding the lack of a French Community Rep which I aim to answer soon. Your questions and concerns aren't unseen, I'm simply swamped at the moment. -
No new images to share. Not sure they're off of dev shards and in an environment we use to stage images yet. We'll have some more to share soon.

Hey guys,
Just checking in to let everyone know I'm still alive and breathing, albeit pretty slammed this week. Right now I'm working on planning for the upcoming Player Summit, getting things ready for the new Assistant Community Manager joining us (more news on that in the coming weeks ), and other stuff I'm not at liberty to talk about yet.
Yes, it's secret, and yes I'm an evil man for saying that.
I'm checking in on things and reading the forums on a daily basis, but just in case you don't see prolific amounts of posting from me over the next few weeks, now you know why.
I'll see you all on Ustream tomorrow morning! -
Quote:This was due to feedback we received from you guys. Thanks for a detailed and illustrated listing of what you're asking me to buy. But why weren't you doing this from the start?
As to the limited time; I hear you, I understand you, however limited time isn't something new for us and we don't have any plans on discontinuing this practice. It's perfectly understandable to be disappointed by this and I'll certainly talk to Marketing/Business about our current strategy (please stop blaming production as this isn't their decision).
Anything that's time limited will return, much like any items tied to seasonal in game events. You will, eventually, have another opportunity to pick these items up. -

That's what happens when I have that particular NPC transformation macro bound to the wrong key.

How I wish I could come to this .
You guys have a great time! -
Quote:Speaking from an outside (non designer) looking in, I often times hear designers bemoaning the lack of documentation when working on older content, and this is not isolated to CoH/Paragon.You never realize just how easy it is to get away with lacking documentation, up until you actually start dealing with developers who have no clue how to document. I can sympathize.
My impression is that in the early days of MMO development, it was fairly Wild West. Designers were producing content and systems, and throwing things against the "wall" to see what stuck. They were creative and innovative, but because they didn't have an extreme amount of software development background, they didn't understand the value of documentation.
In more recent years, this philosophy and practice has certainly changed and most studios have a very rigorous documentation policy and process, but that doesn't change the fact that often times we're working with systems that require significant amounts of time to reverse engineer. -
Quote:I can tell you based on rather extensive interaction between myself and Euros, you guys certainly seem to get much more time off than we do. Americans, in general, tend to work 45-50 hours/week, more weekends and through more holidays than most Euros I've had the pleasure of working with/being friends with.Thing is, im POSSITIVE all my American friends get more time off than i do! Seriously it seems like almost every week its a different holiday
I'm not including myself in that perception, because I believe those working in gaming work obscene hours by any standard .
I believe Asian cultures put us to shame though . -

We'll be promoting this via Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc where we reach a much broader audience. I'll look into the possibility of a GMOTD before the weekend.

Last year at the very first Freedom Player Summit, we introduced the design a costume set workshop. After our initial pass, and much discussion between the art team and the Community, we've now narrowed down the selections. Now it's back to the Community to help us decide on the final product!
Between now and Thursday, February 9th 2012, you can submit your vote for which pieces we should include in the finished version.
Of course, should anything happen that would change the outcome of the final selection, we'll communicate this to you.
So get out the vote and help us decide our very first Community co-created costume set! -

Do me a favor everyone:
Please don't try to influence other people's votes. We want for everyone to vote their own preference (if there was an option to do this completely blind, we would). -

I'm pushing for a Zamboni with the Ice Slick Path Aura.
No, not really.
