I really, really, really, really like Empathy (mostly defender for the bigger numbers). Like, really. I have at least one (sometimes 2-4!) on every server.
I also really, really, really like Kinetics (equal mix def/troller). I have one on almost every server.
I also really, really like brutes. I have 1-6 on every server. Power sets vary like crazy, but they're all fun. -
My points have come on the 28th for the last four months, the day after my billing goes through.

Good LORD, yes. I was hunting for something that I couldn't quite remember the exact name of the other day and I went through like nine pages of crap before I just started using search on random related words that might be in the description until I found it.
It is UI ***FAIL*** when a player has to resort to trial-and-error *SEARCH* to find something in your store.
I *HONESTLY* don't know how the third party company made this crap and Paragon accepted it; didn't they look at the company's other game market interfaces? Didn't they see they could be made pretty, functional, and user-friendly? Instead, they saw the poop thrown on a wall we got and said, "Yeah! Cheap, good, fast! Pick one!" (Psst, it starts with "C")
(yes, I am aware of the actual 'quote' being "pick two", but I don't think Paragon did that) -
Not that that would help colorblind people much.

Update the textures a bit and I'm sold! (Ze goggles...ze look like crap!)

I never did a 40 [at level]. I don't even have patience for more than a couple of City's iTrials, let alone the more involved stuff in other MMOs. City has totally spoiled me. Completely.

Half the time they teleport back into the vicinity and then stroll back to their spawn point like, "Ha ha! Ha! Sure fooled that hero standing right there! I'm going to completely ignore him/her until I come to a complete stop at my spawn point, then I shall do a double take after my walking instructions are done and I can check perception data, and then I shall teleport away again!" ARRGHHHH.

Quote:Don't even mention 40 mans, good lord. That's why "raiding guilds" formed, to have a ready source of people who wanted to raid at the same time you did (or at scheduled time(s) a week).Early on in the Eight-hundred pound gorilla's life span it used to take upwards of an hour to find a group for five, ten, and fifteen mans. If you got lucky and there were enough people on who needed something it could be done faster, but generally you really had to work for an extended period of time to get enough people for anything.
So glad City does not have/need those. -
And I'll disagree with that, too. It is hyperbole. Those are just stupid people. Those people aren't actually seeking a team (that implies effort), they want one to fall onto their game screen. To say they're having to wait upwards of an hour to "find a team" is hyperbole - they aren't even ATTEMPTING to find a team, not truly. If they actually looked around to get a team, they would have little to no problem. On any server.

"Monster" is another word for "critter" which is another word for "NPC". Just a bad word choice in the patch notes.
-
The "X Year Veteran" badges are broken and twiddlings from people who went to the Pummit says they likely won't be fixed.
[EDIT: Derp. Somehow managed to totally skip over that sentence where you already said that, TJ. Herpa derpy.] -

The launcher uses Akamai network for distributed downloads. The backgrounder does not.
-
You get a fine when you're written a ticket... golly, is today no-fun day? Bunches of jokes at work (by me and others) fell flat, too.
-
I rarely form my own teams (though I have no issue with doing so if I wanted to) and have literally never waited for more than 20-30 mintes, let alone "hours", on any server that I have a presence on. (Every formerly-NA server.) Hyperbole isn't good to utilize as an argument.
-
It's pretty obvious that characters cannot (and have no authority to) fine NPCs, so yes, it is a bug (typo).
-
Exit out of the game, open the launcher, select City and select Update on the bottom left. This will use the faster peer-networking download technology instead of the crappy background tech that seems to forget what it's supposed to be doing more often than not.

I *want* Retro Sci-Fi. We'll get SSA2 and leather/chain mail.

Quote:Check your SERVER unlocks. Your global unlocks will not change when shuffling between VIP and Preem. It doesn't normally work like this. However, if you drop to Premium and then go back to VIP, all your characters are locked, and you are given enough "unlocks" per server to unlock them all, allowing you to choose which characters to unlock.
So check your global unlocks. It should show enough to get all your characters back. You do have to unlock them one at at time though. -
Think of absorb as an alternate defense mechanism. It acts exactly the same up to the number of absorb points (AP) you have applied. You take no damage while you have AP. You take damage based on your resistance after you have no AP.
Let's say you have 1,000HP and 50% smashing resistance. Someone casts an absorb shield on you for 200AP. This is almost like having 1,200HP, but the 200AP is expended first. AFAIK, absorb ignores resistance, taking the full attack amount. AP does not expire, and will stack with itself and other sources up to its cap (some formula based on max HP is likely, if not simply "equal to target's max HP").
An attack hits you for 50 smashing damage, ignoring your resistance. You now have 1,000HP and 150AP.
An attack misses you because of your defense. You still have 1,000HP and 150AP.
Another attack hits you for 175 damage. This is more than the amount of AP you have, so you now have 0AP. The leftover 25 smashing damage is reduced by your 50% smashing resistance to ~12 points of damage, leaving you at ~988HP.
