  1. No reason has been given. A lot of powers are disabled while flying that don't make much sense.
  2. Rename all of your saved folders in your installation folder. So like "Critters old" or whatever. There's something in the saved text that is unceremoniously dumping people out of game.
  3. You can go through petitions after your changes have been made to get a GM to review it, IIRC.

    Or something like that.

I have never had a mission banned, so I have no idea. o.O

    CoV Account

Nearly two years ago now, NCsoft bought CoX in November or so, 2007.
  5. You read wrong, no redname ever said that.
  6. Every day job has a second tier. The second tiers are all on the individual pages, since the specific information is only listed there and only a general idea of what the reward is is placed on the Day Job Badges page.
  7. And so is Nord. You can't get to RWZ or Cim through Ouro any other way.

Which has me wondering how they are going to deal with trading in "Going Rogue"...

[/ QUOTE ]Easy. When a - for example - MM switches over, their villain flag turns into a hero flag, and there's no problem.

This has already been shown to be possible, when a brute was bugged and got flagged as a hero, they could do hero content (none of their own since they didn't have any contacts and it was pre-radio), get hero badges, etc. A dev brought in the Ghost Widow character to roleplay taking the brute back to villain side (by killing him, hee hee)...and when the brute got back to villain side, he could do villain content, etc.
(and all previous hero content was stripped from his record, including badges)

Thanks for the B-day present! (08-01)

    Woot!

[/ QUOTE ]Hehe, my birthday is 7/31! And I already requested it off months ago!!
  10. Two of my characters get respec'd every chance I get. I like playing with their stuff. They're my 50s on blueside, an emp/arch and a claws/regen. I add and remove powers seemingly at random to see how it'd work out.

I tweak other characters as needed/wanted, for instance when I grow out of a low-level attack chain that needs more attacks because I can't slot as much recharge/set bonuses, but now I can slot sufficient recharge/set bonuses so I don't need as many attacks. Or to fit in a travel power because I've been using the Raptor/Jump packs from safeguard/mayhem. Or to fit Stamina in at level 22 when my lowbies get up there (if I want Stamina, which granted isn't always, I run without it until SOs-level and then respec in).

I only got two respec's done because I've been crashing left and right for the last week and a half - only some of which is my computer's fault.
  11. The merits are different because of the time and effort investment, not just risk.

  12. Petition in-game with a new character (Menu>Support, or type "/petition" in your chat bar followed by a short title, then hit enter. Both of these pop up the petition window.), or visit the Ask a Question page to get ahold of GMs out of game.
  13. Make sure you are paging through all of the pages available on each server. There are three pages of characters available. Yours might be hiding somewhere off-screen.

Actually the game does support multi core and has for a long time now.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes. The game supports multi core. It does not, however, utilize more than two.
  15. I'm just noting your phrasing, "if there's no guide for it now." There are guides, they're on the wiki; they were even linked in this thread before I linked them.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
hmmm I think I will start writing one up then if there is no guide for it now.

[/ QUOTE ]These aren't good enough for ya'?

I just logged in. Freespecs were granted today. I guess we can consider the "7 days notice" theory dead at this point.

[/ QUOTE ]For real! They posted the freespec announcement on a Friday afternoon and gave the freespec on the following Monday morning, giving us two and a half days to use our freespecs.

I was able to do only two freespecs because of my computer crashing all over the place.

    That's just ridiculous.
  19. Issue 6 was "Along Came A Spider." It was free. It coincided with the release of CoV, which was a paid expansion; but if heroes did not purchase CoV, they could not play a villain, access supergroup bases, have 12 character slots, etc.

Going Rogue will likely be the same system; a paid expansion coinciding with an Issue, though not necessarily Issue 16. Maybe 17 or 18. No one knows.
  20. It's Mateo_06's CoH desktop calendar. I'm too lazy to link you to the thread with it.

I've since replaced it with a rotating display of digital blasphemy stuff.

    game shutdowns

Have you ever heard of cut-and-paste or copy-paste or whatever? That's utilizing the Windows clipboard. Windows clipboard is CTRL+C (for copy) and CTRL+V (for pasting). (Make sure if you're manually copying something that it is highlighted.)

    Please help me!

I played on dial-up for a year and some months. It didn't play like the OP's symptoms, so I am putting my money elsewhere, probably too little RAM and/or old or no graphics card.

IIRC, one of the active Tech Issues frequent posters plays on dial-up, though I can't remember which one it is off the top of my head.
  23. You are using "vanity" as a descriptor of items in a way different than the OP (and myself). You are meaning "vanity" as in "to show off" (stroke the ego). The OP (and myself) means "vanity" as in "has no use other than to look pretty".

A WoW equivalent are the holiday dresses/tuxedos/etc. They have no stats, no buffs, etc, but they look darn good. (And yes, I did read that you don't play WoW. I don't care (and I don't mean that in a hostile way, it's just the truth), and will continue to use it because it's the easiest to draw examples from.)

This is, by the way, the typical game usage of the term "vanity items". Not ego-stroking, but items that do not alter a character's performance (or do so only by a very small amount).

Please re-read all my previous posts with this in mind.

Couldn't find anything by pohsyb, Castle, or DW in the last year. I was too lazy to change it to maximum date range.
  25. Surprise! Someone throws an Ouro portal down 20 feet away. Interrupted!
-- Okay. How do you avoid this one? You can't tell someone in advance not to throw down Ouro, you don't know they're going to do it. Most people don't know that Ouro interrupts long-animation ports. Whoops! Consumed one of a maximum of ten charges!

    Surprise! You get attacked. Interrupted!
-- An ambush (maybe not even yours) runs across your path and takes a pot-shot at you. Whoops! Consumed one of a maximum of ten charges!
Heck, IIRC even some BUFFS interrupt these long-activation ports, though I may be misremembering this one.
-- I fiddled around in game and I think I was mistaken on this one. I couldn't find a buff that interrupted my long-animation ports. (Though of course, that doesn't mean there isn't one. Just that I didn't find one.)

Surprise! A civilian bumps into you and pushes you out of their way. Interrupted!
-- Don't stand on the sidewalks. Right, except for the times when civvies do weird and/or stupid things like walk diagonally from one side of a street to the other, or walk a weird way around obstacles (new pathing rules around AE buildings are WEIRD...have you seen them?)... Whoops! Consumed one of a maximum of ten charges!

You've only got a maximum of seven charges left, since you just consumed three of them due to no fault of your own that you couldn't avoid.
