Mars Symbol?

[ QUOTE ]
And this is why I think all parts should be unisex.

[/ QUOTE ]You say that now, but wait until someone puts a Huge character in the Metal tops/bottoms with skin.
2. [ QUOTE ]
Worst part? PP MoG works vs psionics and even dodges burn down to 5 percent per tick.

[/ QUOTE ]PP works.... somewhat against Psi. pop a bunch of yellows, and use a psi blast attack, and you won't have the damage reduced a bit. It has +def(all), +res(all but psi), for whatever reason.

No Shield Bash?

[ QUOTE ]
You need to read more classic Captain America stories before you say the Shield is not a weapon. And of course Shield Offense as a set would have about half Punches and Kicks anyway. The Shield attacks could have an Energy Damage component also. Generally Shield attacks would Stun or Knockdown-Back

[/ QUOTE ]Captain America is the only superhero who throws his shield, and, in fact, Image Comics was going to be sued if Rob Liefield ever had his licensed Fighting American character throw the shield.

Also, can you imagine the stupidity of, say, Shield Offense/Regen? "Yeah, I can attack with my shield, but I don't know how to block with it!"

Finally, a shield is a defensive tool. Any strikes with it are also defensive, if you learn medieval fighting. A shield bash is meant to open up the opponent, or knock them down.

The only change that will need to occur after I-16 goes live is the addition of the brute evasion taunt aura to scrapper SR.

[/ QUOTE ]Only if it comes with brute-like reordering of powers. I've played a /SR through the low-levels, it's not happening again. I could deal with or without the taunt aura, personally, since it's not the only scrapper secondary without one.

[ QUOTE ]
And more proliferation.

[/ QUOTE ]Agreed, we need ice armor scrappers.

[ QUOTE ]
And talons instead of wrist mounted claws.

[/ QUOTE ]Will be burning so many free costume changes on my claws/sr, "a small adorable fox".

[ QUOTE ]
And bigger mouths with more sharp, pointy teeth.

[/ QUOTE ] :P

[ QUOTE ]
Only four changes need to be made to scrappers after I-16.

And click mez protection acting as a breakfree.

[/ QUOTE ]Definitely something I can get behind. Won't add much to high-level if you can work the pause into your scrapperlocking, but it'll be great for low-levels, before you get it perma.

[ QUOTE ]
FIVE changes... only five changes after I-16 goes live.

And...

Oh bollocks, I'll come in again.

[/ QUOTE ]I see what you did there.
5. [ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
They are split pretty evenly as far as spawns go. You remember the MoGs because they are PITAs and take much more time and effort than they are worth.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just to be clear, that 10 in a row is a very accurate number for red side. Was clearing a boat mish and seriously it was 10 for 10, not anecdotal. It was me as a corrupter lvl 4 sk'ed up to a stalker lvl 43 and EVERY one went MOG.

I even thought one WAS SR by the speed at which he ran, but when his health got lower, guess what? MOG!

Seriously... a PITA yes. Seems like it? No. It was!

[/ QUOTE ]There do always seem to be more energy-pattern PPs than the other 2, but as others have said....

Energy are always DP/MoG
Spines are Always Elude
and Claws are always Unstoppable.

Also, PPEs will nuke at low life, but lack the Tier 9s.

ITF Question

[ QUOTE ]
I've personally never tried this technique, however you can pull the nictus around corners and kill them one at a time! Also, If you have multiple long ranged characters you can attack with 80'+ powers and hit the nictus without arggoing them, meaning you can kill all three without them healing or engaging you.

I hope that helps,

TurmoilX.

[/ QUOTE ]Waste of time to do it that way. You have a bunch of people with high defense do the up close Rommie beating, then have anyone who uses ranged attacks and doesn't have decent negative energy or AoE defense stay out of the Heal's attack radius. Repeat 4 times. The Nicti give zero rewards, while Rommie gives AV rewards each time. If you can do it by beating on Rommie 4 times, definitely do it that way.

Not sucking worse than Spiderman: One More Day's ending.
8. [ QUOTE ]
/macro Kill "target_enemy_near$$follow"

[/ QUOTE ]That is a *really* good suggestion for people new to melee ATs. Especially when they end up teaming with someone that can provide a runspeed buff, or if they go /SR or /Elec.

Also, though this wasn't mentioned by the OP, f is the default key bound to the follow command, and commands in this game can be completely rebound to your liking, under Menu (the \ key), Options, keymapping. And any command in game can be bound or macroed to your liking. And if you screw it up too badly, you can reset the keybinds to default in the options screen.

It worked!! Thank you very much Yanyan, Smurphy, Human_Being and Eislor . Well if anything I'm kinda glad this was my first experience, I got to see how nice and responsive the comunity is. ^_^ Hope to see some of you around.

Thanks again,
The Sixth Illusion from Virtue Server

[/ QUOTE ]Since you're on Virtue, you should, after you activate your account, join the global channel VU2009 (trials can't join global channels, another restriction implemented due to RMT spammers). Lots of teaming, task forces, and just fun chit-chat in there.

Showing skin? Bah, my cranium is visible! Men just don't know how to appreciate a woman with brains to show off.

[/ QUOTE ]The pun! It burns!

11. [ QUOTE ]
I watched a guy inviting to a TF, but he said one must send a tell with your build to be invited. I sent him a reply, "I am built like a brick @#$%house, can I join?" He sent me an invitation, but I declined. This is too much like WoW and the shouts on the trade channel there for dungeon raiders that state one must endure an equipment check. The last guy who checked my "equipment" got a black eye.

[/ QUOTE ]My mastermind needs a second build to mess with those types. Petless Nin/TA.
12. [ QUOTE ]
BTW, as a Champion inhabitant, I figure I'll pass this tidbit along. Felecia (AV Killer?) brags about how she destroys Rom constantly.

She actually has to bring a different friend with her to complete any TFs though. She's said before that TFs are almost impossible without the perfect team. Regular TFs.

[/ QUOTE ]So, she's basically been utterly full of crap like most of us have already said? Good to know.
13. We have no idea, and won't until more info is given by the devs.

[ QUOTE ]
yep. as long as it is not the last one of the arc which gives you your patron power.

[/ QUOTE ]
Eh, more specifically as long as it's not he last one (door mission) of each arc. The first one giving you the badge to unlock the patrol pools is irrelevant.

For Ghost Widow:
You can't drop the fight with Numina.
You can't drop the fight with Ghost Widow.
You can't drop the fight with Citadel.
You can't drop the fight with Recluse.

The rest are droppable.

[/ QUOTE ]

BWA? 4 AVs to get the opportunity for some mediocre patron pool powers? I was just doing it so I could throw in another Luck of the Gambler into Dark Embrace.

Not worth the hassle.

[/ QUOTE ]1) Only 1 AV is required for the first arc, that being Numina, and only the first arc is required to get access to Patron Pools.

2) Dark Embrace doesn't take LotG. It's a Resist power, not Defense.
15. [ QUOTE ]
If you do need a target, I'm not sure it would be a problem. When selecting a different animation for an attack, the way the game works, you actually slecting an entirerly different power. They will keep the endurance cost, cast time, recharge, damage and maybe even the name the same, but to the game it will be an different power....at least I'm pretty sure that is how it works.

[/ QUOTE ]That is a huge assumption.

Also, using "4" for "for" makes you look lazy and stupid.
16. [ QUOTE ]
Wow this thread is still going?

[/ QUOTE ]Of course! Why create a new anti-healer thread when this one will serve just fine?
17. You. Are. Full. Of. [censored].

It is not possible for one character of any powerset/AT, no matter how well IOed, no matter how many of the temp pets, despite having nukes, to take down Rommie in under 13 seconds, and repeat 3 times. (No, not 15 seconds, each rez takes time to go off, you don't even get your full 15 seconds of attacking. Not to mention time to duck out of LoS to avoid the autohit stun and regen nullification.) And if you don't duck out of LoS, you will get eaten alive by Rommie, as would your pets, because you are suddenly unable to regen HP, and knocked for a loop for the next 12 seconds, unable to do *anything*.
18. [ QUOTE ]
Again you guys have said nothing insightful, go back and reread my past posts carefully.

I said Rommy can be done in 60 seconds, since he rezzes you have to defeat him 4 times.....so divide 60 by 4 you get 15 seconds to kill him the first time (not all 4 times).

[/ QUOTE ]Video or it didn't happen, because it is impossible. You can not take him down 4 times in less than 15 seconds. And it would have to be less than 15, because his rez goes off and animates in about 5 seconds. Therefore you only have 45 seconds to take him down within 1 minute.
19. This makes sacrifices, and the ToD sets are expensive, and it is *not* a very exemplar friendly, and leaves only the level 50 slots left, but it gets you a well-slotted Aid Self, Soft-cap to all with none in Phalanx Fighting range, perma-rage with ~10 seconds of overlap, and a heal proc in Hurl, because it's a neat trick I picked up from working on builds for my blasters.

Edit: because I forgot to paste it the first time -.-

*Thread hijack alert*

I am wondering if it is possible to softcap all positional without tough and weaving?

I have tried various build but dont seems to get any working. I was planning to take out some of the skills to put in healing.

[/ QUOTE ]How many do you want to assume in Phalanx Fighting range, are PvP IOs an option?
21. [ QUOTE ]
I admit that Stamina SOs helped a LOT after lev 22 when it came to end-drain issues.
The only charachter I have Dark Armor with is a current lev 38 Katana Scrapper.
Since he is not my "main" by any stretch and I don't have the time that I would love to develop him properly, he generally does not have the stash to just go out and buy IOs like crazy that were mentioned.
Believe me in the perfect world... would have been done by now.
I also already knew about those particular IOs and the KB resistance helpfullness.... but I am basically talking about the "average" Dark Armor user.

Players without level 50 charachters to trade influence with to purchase them and what not.

I have several lev 50s blue-side on Infinity....
but with the pricing that commonly goes on at WW they generally pay for their own IO sets and such.

But yeah.....
when it comes to endurance management, I generally do quite well on almost every charachter I have ever created that made it to the "Lev 22 SO-Heaven" range....
I am just stating that the Dark Armor has sapped end more than anything I have ever tried with the possible exception of Electricity in all it's forms.

[/ QUOTE ]Let me clarify. I'm talking about having endurance under control on my Dark/Super Strength tanker. With that 25 endurance crash from Rage every 2 minutes, on top of attack costs and armor costs. Yes, until I IOed the build it could get hairy *if* I had to pop off a DR right before or right after a Rage crash, but endurance was not a major issue.

And the "average DA user" can sure as heck have 75 merits just from arcs and an occasional TF to get to 75 for Steadfasts or Karmas. Or even luck into one dropping, since they're Pool A.

I apologise if this has been addressed before, but any tanker experts advice would be deeply appreciated:

Is it possible to softcap a SD/SS Tank for the 3 Positional Defense at lvl 40 without using purple IOs?

[/ QUOTE ]Purple IOs don't actually help soft-capping. There are only 1 or 2 sets that provide any sort of defense as a set bonus, and one of those is a pet set.

1. Dark Armor
Visually it is excellent.
MOST of it is VERY useful.
2 main things get on my nerves the most about it though.
A) The end rain.
Can we have MORE toggles for it please? (sarcasm)

[/ QUOTE ]Except it's not the toggles that kill your endurance. It's Dark Regeneration. Also, learn endurance management. I never had end problems on my DA post-22, and only had the standard "I can't wait for stamina/SOs" prior to that.
[ QUOTE ]
B) The lack of a proper KB resistance for it.
I would REALLY love to be able to fly with this...
except you HAVE to take acrobatics JUST to not have the feeling of being tossed around like a rag doll.

[/ QUOTE ]Steadfast Protection: KB Protection. Blessing of the Zephyr: KB Protection. Karma: KB Protection. Kinetic Crash 4-slotted. You don't have to take Acro anymore, but thanks for playing.

Also, it's the *only* tanker set aside from SD and Willpower to provide any psionic protection. There's a price to pay. You need to learn endurance management, and you need to take acro or collect a whole 75 merits to get a Steadfast.

(No, I don't count Stone as having psi protection, as it's mutually exclusive with Granite, which is all I ever see post-32 stone tankers in)

How about giving MA a hadoken?

[/ QUOTE ]There is precedence, Claws already has a Sonic Boom.

[/ QUOTE ]

joking aside there is a point here, several "melee" powers do have one ranged attack

Super Stregth -> Hurl
Spines -> Throw Spines
Fire Melee -> Flamethrower (i think)

it would bring unity if each melee power had a ranged attack (taunt doesnt count...they all have taunt)

[/ QUOTE ]I wasn't really joking. Shockwave's animation is very similar to Charlie's Sonic Boom from Street Fighter Alpha

I can understand the mindset of wanting to always dress females in "realistic" Batman-esque clothing because let's face it not many superheroines IRL would likely fight crime in 5 inch stilettos even if they could.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm, my Agent Wildkatze is guilty of just that in her base costume. The suit covers head to toe, but has stilettos. I vaguely recall debating about it for half a second and deciding she's just that agile she can do it. As a comparison, my tankers I don't expect to be that agile, and have flat soles.

As an aside, in the Watchman movie, Silk had stilettos...except for the hallway fight, where she suddenly didn't.

[/ QUOTE ]
If you ever watched the old Wonder Woman show from the 70s Lynda Carter's boots magically became flats whenever you'd see her in an action scene as well.

I figure between your example and mine that pretty much proves the point.

[/ QUOTE ]

Also happened with Catwoman in Batman Returns. Bugged the heck out of me.

I figure, if I can leap tall buildings anyway, a pair of high heels isn't going to be that much of a hindrance to normal, day-to-day buttkicking.

And honestly, if I was built like my toons (chest slider never past half, and rarely even near that), I'd wear "with skin" options all the time too. As long as they were gravity-defying and wedgie-proof, of course.

[/ QUOTE ]
One of my characters wears high heels with every outfit. Personally I like the way they look, but I don't ever wear them. So my characters do instead. This character has a good excuse though. Since she flies or hovers all the time, she says she's more prone to wearing them because she doesn't actually have to walk in them. She's said before that if she actually had to walk, they would probably bother her.

I don't have much excuse for my martial artist who has heels though.

[/ QUOTE ]My MA scrapper has heels on one outfit for when she needs to add a little extra pressure to the contact point on Crane Kick. Getting a side kick from a 4-5" stiletto, since the impact point is normally the heel of the foot, would *really* mess something up.
