Quote:Short version of a long rant, easily more than 50% of the people are playing level 50s. I would find out what channels are good for a server and post things you would like to do for whatever server you are playing on, ie you want to do a Synapse TF. If you want to do lower level content, you will be leading over 90% of the time. It is what it is.One big downside though is that no one seems to be around to see it anymore, which is a massive shame. I used to have to say no to teams all the time when I wanted to solo in the past, now I almost never get an invite. My old SGs are full and dead and, although I can see the place isn't a wasteland, there doesn't seem to be a place for lowbies who hate farming anymore.
I play on Freedom, Virtue, and Victory when I'm not on Justice doing Hardcore where it's expected for you to not be playing a level 50. If you play on Victory, by all means global me since that's the hardest to get teams going on. My global is my namesake. -
Dark/shield scrapper, Claws/dark brute, Dark/dark defender, Fire/dark corr, Dark/nin stalker, Dark/stone tank.

"You have defeated a Paragon City Hero and taken his cape.
You gain 1,000 experience and 1,000 infamy
You received Impervium Armor End/Rec/REs(Recipe)."
The best I can read it is the completion bonus might include the reward for killing the hero. I agree it looks off. -

Since people can make red side ATs blue side from the get go via i21, then the influx of people will be going blue side. With being on one side and yet able to visit the other side, the only real interest in red side is unlocking patrons, or doing content that's specifically geared towards villains. Red side is what it has always been, an expansion pack versus a full blown game merged with CoH. Red side was built to be "good enough" and then left as is instead of making it an actual equal to blue side. See also PvP and bases for similar tactics. Give red side an equal number of TFs and then we'll talk. The fact that I would have to look up when red side had a STF added where blue side wasn't getting a new TF to match pretty much proves my point.

Been ages since I ran it. Are we talking the lack of exp from Overdrive? Is Overdrive separate from the hero you defeat to get the cape?

Quote:(cues Jock's Rad/sonic soloing Adamastor)I've got several defenders that can solo at x8: Dark/Dark, Storm/Electrical, Rad/Sonic. That's a worthwhile goal.
However, I'm not sure it's worth your while trying to solo an AV with a defender. Primarily because it's really slow and boring to actually do it. It'll take you half an hour or so to take the AV down. Doing almost anything else will be more worth your while.
Quote:Overlooked? Not by me. What a great idea. You realize that four Emp/Sonics are absolute KILLERS. Any team with four defenders (except maybe 4 Forcefielders because of the defense cap) is steamroll material. Should get get a group of friends that are so like-minded, let me know. I would have some alts here and there for special guest appearances on those steamrolling teams
A Rad/, a storm/, a dark/ and a kin/ walk into a mission. End of story. -
/regen may very likely get a rather week taunt aura like WP has.
-
Rad, Traps, or Dark will likely work best. /sonic is the best for soloing.

Quote:Much better on a scrapper.Electric Melee/Sheild Defense Brute(some serious AoE killing power here, w/good synergy)
Stalker: Elec/nin, or KM/nin. Both primaries are really good for stalkers. /nin is likely the best secondary.
Scrapper: Fire, Dark, or BS with /sd. Scrappers get the best bang out of /sd and since it's def based lose little in having lower HP with the set. Fire is great lightly resisted damage. Dark covers the sins of /sd. BS helps while leveling. If you wait for i21, Mace and Axe work as well if not better than BS once you soft cap /sd.
Brute: SS/elec. Best optimal pairing of both sets for offense and durability. Any issue the Rage crash has, /elec deals with perfectly. You even get more recharge out of /elec as well. I do hate Energize coming in at 28. SS/fire. I know. I know. I know. It still remains the best example of what a brute can do at it's peak once you invest in it with IOs and Incarnate. Secondary nomination for Claws(Spin, which you get at 6, is better than FS, but has less range), or Kat once it gets ported. Kat/wp and SS/wp will be the best example of Brutes for Dummies.
Tank: Invul/dark. This means not going Dark on the scrapper, but it's going to be a tough build to take down once it gets going. /dark covers for things like the psy whole. Ice/fire, or Ice/km. Ice is still the aggro king and if I play an AT for the first time I like playing something that is good at what the AT is about. /fire has solid AoE so things stick to you all the more. /km stacks even more -dmg and can be colored to match Ice. -
I have this crazy thought that instead of making numerous threads in the scrapper, blaster, and brute forums asking about farms you actually, I don't know, go play a build yourself and figure it out. As I said in the blaster forum, I will likely have two level 50 farmers that I rolled well after he started asking about farmers before he has one. I do about one run these days when I even do decide to play them. Really, this is a tired act. You don't know how to play a /fire farm build despite it being rather easy to figure out. You don't know how to slot out a SS/fire, or Fire/fire despite starting multiple threads on the issue where people posted multiple builds. FYI, my /fire brutes farm still with SOs as I work my way towards IOing out the builds. Really, it's not that hard. Again, as I said in the blaster thread, all the info you need has been posted. Just use the search function.

But would you lose enough off of the level 50 to where it would be worse than a level 24 when you exempted down? If it does, then that makes no sense.
-
DM is better on a scrapper, but you will also be sturdier on the brute. I don't think you look at a Dark/elec and simply say make it a scrapper because of Dark.

Unless I missed something, farming for shards is rather pointless due to the piss poor drop rate they fall at even while soloing on x8, ie while you may get 3 shards in a mission, you are more likely to get 0-1.
As long as you can handle the animations and how PS works, KM is a solid set. -
Grabbed my Hardcore level 10 Elec/dark and ended up at 15. Since it is a Hardcore character, there were some fun moments. On one mob I got down to 31 HP and that was by the time I checked. It might have been lower. I was helping add another person to another team and I was sending tells back and forth so I was lagging behind. Once I got things squared away I looked up and thought people were outside of the mission only to see a team wipe that I had avoided. Team broke up when I was 14.8 so I went to PP to street sweep only to bump into Kraken, but I saw him early enough to get out of there. Mostly just popped to the back of the group when need be and I didn't have to worry about being the main tank since everybody was a tank. That was the big drawing point for me to be on a team outside of normal Hardcore SG teaming.

I bet a lot of abandoned SGs get taken over and then moved. Case in point, whoever stumbles upon it, sees they have the rights to it, and now want to move it to a different server since they might have moved on as well in terms of servers and are only coming back to check in on old characters that they haven't played in ages.

One thing in favor of SS is that it's easier to use epic/patron attacks since they don't have the redraw issue.

Quote:If you are looking for more of a frankenslotting of powers, then you can get rather low in terms of what level you will be slotting. If you are using dual enhancements, level 24 gets you +3 SO values, ie 2 acc/damage, 2 damage/end, and 2 damage/recharge will get you 1 SOs worth in acc, recharge, end and 3 SOs worth in damage. Level 24s are annoying to get, but you can play around with the levels to get the numbers you want. Also note the above slotting could be done from two sets so you get three set bonuses from two different sets. To me it's a cheap way to IO out a build for lower level content.I've always been hesitant on the invention system outside of common IOs because trying to learn all the rules of sets and bonuses made my head spin, but now I'm thinking about diving in and making a build. I plan on using only the "enhancement" IOs like Acc/Dam, Dam/Rech/End, etc (ie none of the special +Recovery, or +Stealth, or Chance for Build Up, or what have you) and then mixing and matching with other enhancements (other "enhancement" set IOs, common IOs and HOs). I'm not worried about bonuses, I know I'll get some but they won't be anything I rely on. In this situation, do I need to worry about the level of the IO and losing power when exemplaring?

Only issue is KBing anchors into other mobs. Energy has solid ST damage which is needed for soloing.

I'll wait until it's completely out. I would rather read straight through versus having to go back and try to remember what happened since the last book came out.
