Something I do find ironic, is how often I see the posts of people bragging how ubber they are, and how much they wish the could be challenged. Underwater may actually provide such an across the board challenge by having certain powers degraded or perhaps not even working; but I guess those wanting challenge, as long as the challege is limited to spam status effects, its ok.

With regards to BaBs statement, perhaps he does need to be let go.
    Oh my days...

    In fact;

I could, but it would have as little meaning as your post.

Just like the "my tank and my partner's defender can duo that GM." So? I've got a cor and a dom that can duo the same GM.

In the end, all of these statements are completely useless beyond showing that no AT is obsolete as long as people continue playing them. Including stalkers.
Yes, Bill, but your claws/sr scrapper would probably de-throne Satan if he was in game, simply by de-facto badassness

Most of the "never gonna happen/most likely won't happen" items in this game that ended up getting done was because a large enough segment of the players wanted it (Power Customization) or it had to happen for the sake of game balance (Market Merger).

So, like I said before, I just don't see it happening without a major shake up at Paragon Studios.
Only if you mean 'allowing people to respec powersets'. I don't see that happening.

Better respec system? The current one is horrible, clunky wreck. I think that alone is excuse enough to give it an overhaul to make the process less painful.
And that way people whining about x,y and z changes have one less leg to stand on, namely 'But respeccing is horrible!'

About all I can see happening "underwater" would be - well, a setting. Going through an underwater city, being allowed to see water outside, water dripping, etc. If we got to "swim" (retrieve XYZ outside, etc.) to avoid *all* the problems that powers would present, we'd probably end up in a state similar to Walk - you can swim, but nothing else works, and you can't break that state while "underwater."
A bit like Bioshock 2, actually. Which worked fine that way.
But again, yeah, I don't see it happening.

No. We are nowhere near underwater stuff in this game.
The little bit in Cimerora and the one pool in Grandville are WAI.

Just think about how many new animations would be required for underwater. In fact, no, just think about the headache that would occur trying to find a way to make stuff like fire, ice, electricity and guns work underwater.

    Fire.
    Doesn't.
    Work.
    Under.
    Water.

Just...it's not going to happen. Not in this version of the game.
  7. Because spending even one merit worth, according to the exchange, 40 merits and 20,000,000 (20 Million) inf, on a costume piece should be a no-no. From the get go.

Hells, spending a H/V merit shoud unlock ALL thje costume pieces currently on offer for one each. I mean, the availability on the market is pretty accomodating anyway. Who in their right mind would spend a merit on a recipe worth about 100,000, if that?

Pointless locks on costume pieces are not fun (looking at you Nemesis rifle and Commander epaulets! ¬¬ )
  8. ...lolwhut?

What new Engine? We've never had an engine change.

And theres been multiple threads on exactly why underwater would be pretty useless.
Electric powers underwater? Ice powers underwater? Guns? Hello, Fire powers underwater?

    So no. Just no.

    Ouch, you poor sod...

Tell you what, go and get the first few disks of Hellsing Ultimate. Enjoy Alucard being an absolute badass and utter monster too. Then imagine him putting a bullet in each of the Twishite 'characters' *wipes fingers for having to type that* faces.

    You'll feel better

I hope that link works. There is a new hero called Silver Scorpion that is getting ready to debut. A young man in a wheel chair that can control metal with his mind.

    It sounds interesting.
    Wait, what?
    ...
That sounds exactly like Schmitt on Union...except he's german. A german guy who, last time I checked, was in a wheelchair until he used psionic metal manipulation and went to fight crime with a shield...
    Uncanny.

The badasses are the ones who will have three broken limbs and still drag two people to safety. Badass isn't blowing up a building. Badass is having a building fall on you, then crawling out and punching the guy that did it.
You missed 'while laughing like an utter maniac, beating people with your own dismemebered limbs and punching them so hard their own mother bleeds'

Oh, and catching a bullet in your teeth, wise cracking about it, and making your opponent run screaming like a girl.
Alright, she was a girl, but even so...she was badass herself. XD

As I see it, there are two ways to use the power: Bomb on Caltrops + pull or Cloaking Device + Smoke Grenade + Toebomb. In both cases, the powers required to achieve the effect are part of the same powerset as Time Bomb, so they don't really represent a powerful build choice, especially considering Cloaking Device and Smoke Grenade are largely poor power picks anyway. And while I realise I'm arguing for less complexity and more dumbing down, Time Bomb is simply out of context with the rest of the game. It's a single power that requires three separate power picks to achieve a single function. And that's not power picks to IMPROVE its function. JUST Time Bomb on its own is completely worthless because you can never hit anything with it. Why pick something so elaborate when you can approach the same result with just AoE Blasting with less setup time?

As for warmup time for a possible orbital laser, the current Time Bomb has an animation time of 9 seconds and Long Range Missile Rocket has a cast time of 5.87 seconds, itself. If you're looking for a long-range, high-damage AoE, long windup and a high cost, as well as significant recharge are the prices you should be prepared to pay. In fact, let's compare:

    Time Bomb
    Cast: 9
    Cost: 26
    Recharge: 6 minutes
    AoE Range: 20 feet
    Damage: 278.05

    Long Range Missile Rocket
    Cast: 5.87
    Cost: 22.75
    Recharge: 4 minutes
    AoE range: 20 feet
    Damage: 155.78

Both have the same are of coverage, but Time Bomb deals more damage at the cost of recharging longer, costing more and casting longer. And at the cost of being almost unusable in actual practice and on a team. I'd be willing to see a power in-between those, if not equal to Time Bomb, which is placeable with a reticle, only on the ground, and at a range of about 40 feet (that's the range of the reticle, AoE would still be 20 feet). Even if it's functionally weaker, the ability to use it more often would more than make up for that.
Yes, but the trade off for being 'as good as Time Bomb' is wholly pointless if your comparing it to a power that comparitively few people take.
In all my time in game I've seen Time Bomb a grand total of once, and that was when I used it on the test server during a level bump patch. What's the point of doing great damage if next to no one takes a power? The Devs have said in the past they want to avoid powers that people avoid, hence the buffs to certain powers and indeed sets to make them more appetising. Hell, that was the reasoning behind originally removing certain Patron Pool powers, because they wanted to avoid 'no one taking them', the only difference being that people actually were taking them.

Time Bomb? It's next to useless, except maybe solo. I'd trade it for something like the Arachnos Omega Maneuver bomb or an Orbital Lance anyday. It might make me actually consider Devices, rather than remembering every time why I avoid it.

Somebody inside Arachnos, apparantly through sheer force of will and duct tape keeps the troop population high and maintains training standards. Public Works facilities are not in disrepair, the threat of Arachnos retaliation keeps most of the various factions from all out war. Currently, Arachnos is the beating heart of the Rogue Isles and trying to label the organization that does so incompetent, is in my opinion, ludicrous.

Before Marshall Blitz went nutso, The Etoile Islands were a nuclear state, for crying out loud. The spider theme is silly, the politics rediculous, but somehow, somebody on the inside is making it work and keeping it a real threat.
Amen to that. The few little bits of writing I've done for Recluse have always been very much inspired by Terry Pratchett and Lord Vetinari. You've got to be pretty damn smart to keep a mess like the Rogue Isles spinning. It can wobble a bit and grow the odd edge...but it still functions.

I think the only more Vetinari-esque character would have to be Nemesis.

And if anyone hasn't read Terry Pratchett before, I have no sympathy for your ignorance Go and cure it.

You missed out "-were it not for the fact that the character collision box area expressly stops this from happening."

It's hard enough getting two characters to sit side by side without having them end up a meter or so apart. So, no, that old and rather lame excuse holds no water whatsoever.

I'd much rather you could choose what rank the doppleganger spawns, rather than always just being boss level. That way you can make them tougher or easier depending on the situration the author wants.
For example, a shapeshifter in one of my arcs is stuck being a Boss due to this.

Just to explain - this is less of a break of the cottage rule than it seems. Time Bomb can currently only be used on the ground, and it produces a large AoE explosion. Such a summon would also only be used on the ground and produce a large explosion, but for less hassle. I can still see it having a 7-8 second animation time, however, and interruptible, to boot. Just can it with the unreliable, situational bomb.
In other words, the bomb requires you putting yourself in direct harms way for questionable results.

The Lance would require a sniper time (I'd really reccomend NOT 7-8 seconds, thats somewhat boring) to target and then...BOOM.

  20. 19?!
That's a LOT of slots. While I'd love to have more to spread around on my Triform Shade and my PB, I can certainly never see 19 happening.
Not to mention the utter uproar there would be from the other ATs.

    Npc's...

Would love to see the city actually look and function like a city.

Maybe never gonna happen, but it'd be cool to see actual shops functioning and street stalls, bits of awning out... For a giant city, Paragon gets real dull real fast. Heck, even the Rogue Isles has some street punters in Cap.
