So probably not, but I can't give you any specifics why.
No. Dopelgangers are, mechanically speaking, nothing in the slightest like our characters. They are unique constructs defined from the ground up with our characters serving only as inspiration. They share a costume... Sometimes, but in terms of powersets, they are in fact Architect critters with powers and abilities taken from there. They only thing these critters actually take from your character is the powersets used, and even then only primary and secondary.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I'd much rather you could choose what rank the doppleganger spawns, rather than always just being boss level. That way you can make them tougher or easier depending on the situration the author wants.
For example, a shapeshifter in one of my arcs is stuck being a Boss due to this.

Would it be possible to have doppelgängers spawn as the same exact as the player allowing them to share the same stats as the pc character including set bonuses? So if I'm playing my Dark/Shield with soft capped defenses is it possible to have my doppelgänger to have soft capped defenses as well?
