Guillermo del Toro's Vampire Trilogy

Has anyone else been following this? Apparently the second book came out recently. I picked up the first one this summer and read it during my family camping trip.

It's fairly creepy and, thankfully, a take on vampires that's pretty gruesome. You can also see how Blade 2's Reapers inspired the type of vampires in the books.

He was recently on The Colbert Report to talk about it.

These days I kinda look the other way whenever I hear/See the word Vampire.

Even trying to talk about the classics is impossible without somebody pronouncing their undying love for 'That which won't be named.'

It's a shame. But on the up side, when all this passes I won't have to wait for the complete series!

Likely wait until the trilogy is written, but it's been on my list to read since it came out.

I read the first book and really didn't like it. It was a bad book, but had a decent story behind it and frankly would have been much better suited to the screen than the page.

Is he gonna be doing a movie of this trilogy sometime. It sounds cool but I don't want anything to get in the way of Hellboy3.

So long as it's more like the first movie...

I'll have to check these out.

I read the first one and almost literally swooned at how totally devoid of anything resembling humanity (let along sparkly emo-ness) the "monster" in this series seems to be. It really is a (imagine Gene Wilder shouting this word) *MONSTER*!

I'll be buying this ASAP. The first book grabbed me, and I need a respite from my *twitch* current project for my radio show... I'm *twitch* reading the first copyright infringement from Stephanie Meyer *twitch* for a review segment.

I needs me some *MONSTER* to cleanse my palette.

Ouch, you poor sod...

Tell you what, go and get the first few disks of Hellsing Ultimate. Enjoy Alucard being an absolute badass and utter monster too. Then imagine him putting a bullet in each of the Twishite 'characters' *wipes fingers for having to type that* faces.

You'll feel better
