Priority would be if it broke the game and you couldn't actually level up... or something equally bad. Right now, you still level up, you just don't get the animation or the devgrats. We went years without the devgrats, so it's not like it's really needed.
  3. Mission holder sets the difficulty (and level of Super Sidekicking). If street sweeping, team leader sets difficulty (and level of Super Sidekicking).

Lusca only has four arms. And they don't respawn.
  5. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Task_Force
More specifically, the part that says:
    Quote:
On a "signature" Task Force, enemies will spawn based on the task force's maximum level (and the leader's notoriety setting) regardless of the team's composition. Therefore Signature Task Forces are usually done by characters at (or above) the top of the level range. The majority of Task Forces are considered signature.

A Non-signature Task Force spawns according to the highest level person on the team (and the leader's notoriety setting). These include: Moonfire, Hess, Imperious and all four of the Shadow Shard task forces.
All Strike Forces (villains' task forces) are "signature". Most (all? I forget) Trials are non-signature.
  6. Base love was mentioned several times during talks with various devs at PAX; they do want to give some, it's just that whoever decides which changes are more important keeps pushing back bases in favor of other stuff.
  7. The level up animations haven't changed in at least two years. That's when Mantid put up that animation on his emote site (which has since been removed, and the images imported to Paragon Wiki).

    Checksum error

delete the file coh.checksum in your installation directory

also delete any files with the filename ".majorpatch", if they exist (they shouldn't, but just in case)

Anyone can participate from the sidelines, but you will not be eligible for the contest since you didn't start at the beginning. Happy arting!
  10. Whoops, I totally misread the line:

This does not happen just because you didn't assign the right letter to a bind. There had to be some other issue or reason.
This wasn't something Hamster did. The game does this from time to time. It loses the binds. Randomly. It decides that your binds aren't valid, and just loses them. The game randomly loses a LOT of things, from time to time. That's the curse of technology.

So I vehemently disagree with your assessment that it is the OP's fault, as I have personally seen this happen (to my own characters, and to my boyfriend's, who sits next to me when we play). It's not due to binding improperly.
  13. All vet rewards work the same way, whether you pre-pay or by the month: if you ain't played that long (if the time hasn't passed), you don't get 'em.
  14. The players here cannot help you. This forum is for players to help players with their technical issues and bug reporting. You'll simply have to wait for support to reply to your petitions (though honestly, only one person should have petitioned, all you're doing is filling up the intertubes).
  15. Infinity has a fantastic villain community. You'll want to join global channels, you can find those down in the Infinity subforum.

Freedom also has a large villain population, due to the simple fact that people migrate toward the largest populations...but with large population comes large numbers of idiots (there's also more of everything else, too), so take the idiots with a grain of salt.
  16. Honestly, I no longer care about FiberOptic's plight, and honestly think that it is a PEBCAK issue for him (not necessarily the OP), because multiple people (INCLUDING MYSELF...including others in this thread...that is personal experience, not second-hand chatter) have created and upgraded accounts, either from nothing or from trials or from existing accounts, using time cards, without credit cards involved at all.

You can't get NCsoft to acknowledge that you have the game until you use a CC. So using a time card cannot be done, the web site will give you "Invalid" all day long until you come up with a CC. It's just that simple it physically cannot be done.

What do you do when "use" a time card to open a "new" account? I would like to see that.

It was posted earlier in this thread, you have show you can pay. NCsoft does not view Time Cards brought at the store as proof that you can pay. You can have a stack of 100 cards it makes no difference you can't get the web site add the game to your account unless you have a CC. If you have no game in the "accounts" section you can't add time to it. It is not there, no game, no CC, no play. I stand by my comments.

You need a CC to start playing, CC or go away.
Time cards do show proof you can pay. You had to pay to buy it (or someone did, even if you got it as a gift). Therefore, NCsoft accepts that.

What do I do? I put a retail box code in, then I put a time card code in, then it updates the account from a trial account to a retail account.

I know for a fact that the GAME CARD (not the time card) works to either create or upgrade an account, regardless of what your experience is. I have done both in the past.

I would assume the same would work for creating a new account instead of upgrading from a trial, but I don't have the slush money available to randomly create accounts just for your benefit. If you'd like to give me $20, I'll do it. Otherwise, simply, "no."

You do know that you still need a RETAIL BOX CODE in order to upgrade/create, right? Just the TIME CARD doesn't work. A GAME CARD includes a retail box code, so a GAME CARD works. A TIME CARD does not.

This is everything the wiki knows, though it might be missing a few that haven't been added to the list, of course. (I just added /arenalist and /cleartray, for instance.)
  19. You can't. You need to reinstall the whole thing because there were changes in the backend.

All Ouro TFs can be started and completed solo.

You can do nothing without a valid CC number, it's the "invalid" part of the message he got. It was saying "you have no valid CC number" too bad they don't just come out and say this, instead of leading you to believe you can start playing without a CC number. The entire page is useless except for the CC number part. All the time card BS, is just that BS, you can't successfully enter a time card code unless you first sign up with a CC, then go back and enter the time card code after you have given them a CC number.

In short: No CC number, No play No way, No how. They could eliminate confusion by using 6 words on the page (No Credit Card? Go away).
You don't need a credit card to activate your account, you just need some way to prove that you can continue with the account after the upgrade to retail. This includes a paypal account, a credit card, or a time card (*NOT* a retail code for a game box, *A TIME CARD* or *A GAME CARD* (which is an expanded time card).)

I have personally upgraded a trial account to a retail account with a box code and a time card.
