August Challenge: 'Tragedy'

So we come to September. 4 artists left who are hopefully willing to go the distance because i plan on running this on through till the end.


Overview: - Tragedy. Most every famous hero/villain in popular culture has had to endure some kind of tragedy in their lives. Sometimes the tragedy is what makes the hero chose to actually be a hero. A lot of the time the tragedy turns a hero to a villain or creates a villain in his/her quest for revenge. We all know the stories. Peter Parker losing his Uncle and the famous line "with great power comes great responsibility", Batmans parents being gunned down, the Joker going through loss and finally jumping into a vat of chemical waste to avoid batman. Supermans whole planet exploded. Et cetera, et cetera.

This isn't an origins challenge mind you. Draw any hero/villain in the city of verse and show them enduring their personal tragedy. The challenge here is for the artists to tell the whole story in one picture. The emotion in the subjects face, the background feeding the happening into it smoothly. Be as creative as ya can and go all out guys! There will be another elimination this month! Here are some examples:

Rules: What will get you disqualified this month?

NOTHING! THAT'S WHAT!!!!!!

Once again, this month and every month after, you are available to use characters from the forum regulars and/or the multiple characters in the playerbase out there. Any character within the City of Verse is accepted from now on!



There will be one elimination for this month. You are playing for immunity for the following month. So draw for fun!

There will be only one entry allowed per person, and it is due no later than September 26th at midnight PST.. Voting will be held the following week. If there is no entry submitted or it is late, you automatically forfeit and lose your spot on the rankings board.

Some notes:

• The winner of September's challenge will carry immunity for the next month provided they submit a piece for October.

• Toxic_Shia carries immunity this month provided he submits a piece for September

Got one question - when you say "The challenge here is for the artists to tell the whole story in one picture" - do you mean no multiple panels images?

He does say nothing is disqualification-worthy, so by that statement it seems you can do it however you want, as long as it's arts!

(I don't think video taping yourself doing interpretive dance counts, though...)
