  1. Grav/Kin does good damage, both from the self-damage buffs, and Siphon Speed bringing the powers back faster for more attacks.

That's a slick tip. That'll come in real handy on those "Defeat The Guy Named Thusly" missions where all you need is the one guy and his spawn.

'twas good times! My first Hami raid ever! I logged in just in time to see the final calls for raid members, and didn't get to make an in-theme costume, but I enjoyed how well-organized the raid was. I was on Elegost's team, and all went smoothly.

Another thing about being a Scrapper - some of your teammates (the Defenders and Controllers and Corrupters) will have endurance-hungry toggle powers that make your enemies bubble with green, black, white, (or practically any other color they choose) energies and special effects...

Those toggle powers make it hard to see during battle and are kinda scary looking when a bubbling-green oozing mass of critters comes your way, so if you always target and defeat those critters first, you'll have much clearer vision, and your squishy teammates will thank you for saving them endurance!

(But you'll be missing out on all the sweet debuffs those toggles provide!)

Should underline "Ghost Widow hits you with HIS Dark Blast" too.

On the other hand, perhaps we just learned the sex of the dev playing the AV.

Just watch out for those darn Trick Arrow wielding Defenders - - THEY TRY TO HEAL YOU WITH POINTY STICKS AND IT DOESN'T WORK.

"Oh, you're bleeding, eh? Is it worse than a stick in yer eye?"

  11. I either completely forgot about this feature, or never knew it was there.

All the people I enjoy teaming with are either on my g-friends list, active on VictoryBadges, or in a SG I recognize.

Maybe I'll turn it on and have a go:

    1 - Catgirls
    2 - Blasters
    3 - Good players
4 - Good players with good chat binds
5 - Gave me a Purple recipe or said they liked my playstyle

They could always swap roles and have the other Tanker guy go get a new spawn to bring back while the scrapper punches the boss.

Or heck, the way I do it: bring the leftover bosses to the next spawn, and keep punching them while the new minions melt in the AoE.

And Rock Armor doesn't care where you are either.
Oh, but that's not an attack.

Because sometimes, "working together" means "everyone takes their own spawn." It rarely requires 8 Heroes to arrest a single spawn, and it always makes me laugh when all 8 Heroes attack the last remaining critter of a former spawn.

I'm firmly in the "if you want SB, you must be within 50 feet of me" camp. I put two EndMods in there, and no Ranges.

However, plenty of maps have space for a team to spread out more than 50 feet and still be "together," so my /Kin or Kin/ will have Flight or Hover or Super Speed on, and I'll click the teammate's name, hit Auto-follow, and trigger the boost, and then move on to the next teammate after it fires. I don't mind moving around to buff teammates, and I'll try to remember to shrug off Blasterlock sometimes in order to buff.

I try to watch the teammate buff icons, but seriously, when a toon's icons stretch 2/3's the way across my 24" monitor, it's a little hard to notice the tiny green blinking foot icon somewhere in the middle of all that, so I watch for teammates running slow. Or I'll hit IR or Siphon Speed first, and when it wears off, I know it's about time to re-SB everyone.

My preferred bufftime is as everyone is running in to take Alpha, because I sure as heck don't want Alpha aggro (unless I'm throwing the mass-hold) and it gives the spawn a bit of time to clump up around the melee toons before I immobilize them. And I'll throw ID on bouncing Blasters or other squishies if the knockback is getting out of control.

And sometimes the team will eliminate the spawn without me throwing a single attack, but big deal, I'll weep quietly to myself and hope Propel finishes animating in time for the next spawn.
  15. On a related topic, if the proc is slotted into attacks that affect endurance, does it give the endurance to the caster or the target?

edit: found the answer I was looking for.

No cable, and no broadcast TV since it went digital. We watch anime online or DVDs, and either video games or go outside for entertainment.

    And it's COLD outside!
  18. Good points, all.

The sound mods are officially sanctioned, though, and help and tips on the sound mods have been provided by the devs... as long as the EULA constraints on not hacking the game client are followed.

I hadn't even though about nude mods - my purpose is to go the other way and substitute normal costumes for "with skin" costumes, so my young son can play without my wife getting all up in a huff.

It'd be nice if they added a "Modest" setting in addition to the profanity filter, that hid some of the skimpier outfits. It wouldn't affect player visibility for PvP and such, but could appease overbearing moms. And I recognize the game is T rated and am not complaining about that.

Mebbe I'll turn his graphics all the way down.
  19. Along the lines of the client-side sound substitution which allows a person to sub a silent or different sound for an annoying one, is there a non-hack, 100% EULA-compliant method for substituting annoying costume pieces for others?

Bonus if it supports the random pool of object in Propel.
  20. Another difference: you can Shield Charge to or from the air, but Lightning Rod must start and end on the ground.

And the other cool thing is, since Active Defense is a click, you still have mez/kb/immob protection even if you get toggle-dropped due running out of endurance, and can beat a hasty retreat while your toggle-mez friends get held in your wake.
  22. That's entirely up to you, your preferences, and your playstyle.

Would you rather not get hit, or have your powers come back quicker?

Plus, on a Fire Armor Scrapper, your mez resistance was built into the normal Fire and Plasma shields that you would have taken anyway, but Shield's aren't.

And since FA doesn't have built-in knockback protection and gets immob protection only from Burn, I'd suspect you'd take Combat Jumping on both toons, and then live with the knockback (or maybe take Acrobatics or get an anti-KB IO).

So I can see how switching to a SD scrapper and not taking Active Defense isn't unbelievable.

But once you get it, put two Recharges in it, set it to Auto, and get your scrap on! It's what makes Scrappers unstoppable arresting machines!

(and if you do have Acro or anti-KB IOs, you won't need them.)
